A delightful stone cottage in the town centre of Dingwall, nestled away in a private lane. This appealing retreat makes a great base for exploring the Northern Highlands and the NC500. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom holiday home is within 300 metres of shops, eateries and pubs serving Scottish whisky and ale. Stroll less than 1 mile to gaze across the Cromarty Firth. Follow the town’s heritage trail to learn more about its history, spotting the ruins of the medieval fort and royal castle as you go. Plan a trip to the Highland Capital of Inverness, 15.5 miles away a (20 min drive), with its shops, pubs, restaurants, and historic sites, including boat tours of Loch Ness. Take the time to see Culloden Moor, 19.5 miles away – the battlefield where the 1745 Jacobite Rising famously came to a tragic end. Head to the harbour at Avoch, 13.5 miles away, on the Black Isle peninsula, to book seats on an exciting, dolphin-spotting boat trip.
Take a step up to open the front door of this inviting red sandstone cottage, make your way inside via the long hallway and enjoy the underfloor heating throughout the ground floor. There is access to the downstairs WC. Head into the kitchen to unpack the local delicacies you have bought. Find that everything you need to help you cater for yourselves is to hand in this lovely, country-style space with wooden work surfaces and a Belfast sink. Amble into the lounge/diner to sit down to your meals or unwind on the deep-cushioned leather sofas, with your favourite boxset playing on the Smart TV. Open the French doors to the garden on fine summer days or lay a fire in the wood burner when it is chilly and chat together in its cosy glow. One of your bedrooms, a comfortable King-size, is also conveniently located downstairs. Head up to the first floor to find there is a double bedroom and the twin. There is also a study here, for anyone hoping to catch up on a little work during their stay, and a generous family bathroom.
There is access to the garden via the back door and the patio lounge doors which both have one step down. Share a bottle of wine out in the garden on fine summer evenings. Enjoy morning coffee outside too when the sun is shining. There is private parking for one car at the property. Alternatively a car park nearby for additional cars with access to electric car charging ports.
