It is on a private five-acre forested parcel in contrast to sister Marblemount property Rainbow House's open pasture and expansive views. Fully landscaped with a park-like feel. Surrounded by bucolic pastures, guests can stroll to the edge of the property while contemplating the grazing cattle and spectacular views of Mount Diobsud and the North Cascades—if not actually hiking among them!

Great property

Great stay! Close to North Cascades visitor center, which was the reason for our trip. Kids loved staying at the “cabin” and seeing black tailed deers and coyotes right outside!

Great base camp for North Cascades

This beautiful, secluded cabin is a relaxing spot to return to after a day in the park. We found the cabin was well set up for enjoying wine on the porch or preparing meals. We drove across the one lane bridge and drove on the paved portion of road for some scenic views (especially at the overlook). This cabin has it all - inside and out.

The pictures do not do the Rhody House justice! It was such a charming, well equipped, and comfortable cabin, despite being in a remote area. The Rhody House is the perfect place to explore harder to get to places in North Cascades National Park, including the Cascade Pass area. We were very impressed with how fast the wifi was, and we loved how peaceful and quiet the cabin was. I can see why it stays booked up! We will definitely try to stay here again if we come back to the North Cascades area. Thanks to Steve for being such a fantastic host and sharing his amazing cabin with visitors!

We spent four nights here and loved it. The cabin is cozy and very functional as well. Having a real kitchen is nice. It is far enough back from the road to be quiet. Several evenings we sat on the porch with a beer. You are right there at North Cascades; it is a great hiking base. The only real negative is that Marblemount is very small, having only a couple of restaurants, and being 20 miles from a full grocery store (plan accordingly). I would recommend this place to anyone.

Secluded Comfort

We came to hike the North Cascades. Most of our original choices were unavailable due to fire, but Rhody House is only an hour from Mount Baker trailheads as well! Cabin had everything we needed, and more! Very comfortable beds after long hikes. Plan to return next summer :)

Perfect, cozy cabin in great location for hiking

We had a fantastic stay at the Rhody House. It was perfect size for our family of 4, well decorated and clean, and had everything that we needed. The location was a great base for exploring nearby hikes (we did Cascade Pass and Sahale Glacier) and only 5 minutes away from the Marblemount Ranger station for picking up any backcountry permits. Steve was extremely helpful in offering advice and timely in responding to emails. Thanks for the great stay! We can't wait to come back again in the future.

Ideal location, quiet setting, custom built home

If you're visiting North Cascades, stay here. The location is 10 minutes from the park and 20 minutes from a few great hikes. The home is part of the vacation. It's custom built with incredible attention to detail, beautifully decorated and meticulously appointed. Host was extremely attentive and accommodating. The Keurig broke and a new one was delivered the next day. Gas grill out back, visits from deer, and gentle breezes.

Great 2 bd rm Cabin in an Awesome location

The location and property size is amazing! We really enjoyed being able to run laps around the property and had plenty of room for soccer and frisbee. The Marblemount location is so close to all that the North Cascades has to offer with a variety of trails of all ratings nearby. The cabin is really cute, was clean and well stocked. The AC was awesome to have as there were a couple hot days (in the 80s) during our stay. There is a fire-pit in the back and had fun with s'mores during our visit. It would be nice to see some games and s'more roasting sticks added for the future. We look forward to coming back next year!

We loved this cabin!

We loved our 4 night stay at the Rhody House. So comfortable. Great kitchen with everything you need. Plenty of towels too. Such a quiet, peaceful lot! We wanted to hike at the North Cascades National Park, and this was a great location with a few restaurants nearby, and a store for some groceries and a gas station. The pictures don't do it justice. It's really beautiful. We enjoyed it so much that our last day, we canceled our plans to hike and just stayed at Rhody House and relaxed. It was awesome! If we are ever in the area again, we would definitely stay there again. Also, it was spotless! Super clean. Highly recommend.

Best rental house/hotel ever!

This is the best hotel/rental house I have ever been. The WHOLE cabin (yes, not just the room) is super clean and spacious. It also has its own entrance and front & back yards. We stayed there for 2 nights. The weather wasn't nice the second day, so we were not able to hike in the North Cascade NP in the morning. We stayed in the cabin, and my 3 and 5 year-old boys were very entertained as we were able to do a lot of activities (e.g. Board games, switch's sports, tiny baseball game on the porch...etc.). I will definitely recommend this place to my friends. Totally worth the spending. :)

Our stay was very enjoyable. We stayed at Rhody House to hike in the Northern Cascades . It was a perfect location! The house is immaculate; one of the best in the way of cleanliness and comfort that we have had the pleasure of staying in. The property owner communicated very promptly. Check in and out was very easy. The website does not do the house justice. I would stay again if ever in Northern Cascades .

We enjoyed our stay very much. The location was close to the park along with dining options and gas in town. All appliances were in good working condition and the house was clean and cozy. We're a professional couple from Seattle, now retired after having founded and operated a national importing company for nearly 40 years. We enjoy travel and receiving our guests as we like to be received.

Why they chose this property

Marblemount and the North Cascades are close enough to our home in Seattle to provide overnight escapes in addition to longer wilderness experiences. Those escapes kept us sane during our business careers. And when we weren't in Marblemount, all we had to to do was close our eyes and imagine ourselves being there. We called that 'A Marblemount Moment.'

What makes this property unique

You will see a sign when entering Marblemount that says 'Last Services in 74 miles.' We're at the entrance to North Cascades National Park, idyllic, with restaurants and services close at hand.

Rhody House's five-acre wooded parcel was a beautifully landscaped homestead in the early-20th century that had been abandoned (thus all the mature Rhodies!). It has been a pleasure rediscovering and highlighting its unique beauty and tranquility.
