Once a Victorian school tucked away in rural Powerstock, this striking Grade II listed property is the perfect base for a relaxing holiday. The property is within easy reach of the stunning Jurassic Coastline, as well as being surrounded by rolling countryside and is a walker’s paradise. This tranquil village also has two pubs within 500m, perfect for stopping off for refreshments or a meal after exploring this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Only 5 miles from the coast and close to many popular attractions, you can easily visit the dramatic cliffs at West Bay, the South West Coast Path, eclectic Bridport with its lively market and vintage stores and picture postcard Lyme Regis, which is home to the historic Cobb harbour and an excellent range of independent shops.
A gravel driveway and 4 steps lead you to the entrance into this detached property. Once inside you are met by a welcoming hallway with an inviting sitting/dining room to the left, which is the ideal place to relax after a day spent exploring as it has a wood burner, Smart TV and wonderful period details. Also leading from the hallway is a useful separate WC and a stylish kitchen, with space for casual dining. Just next door is the utility room. Heading back into the hallway you will find the stair case rising to the first floor, where there is a cosy double bedroom, a twin room with cot and a beautiful double room with stained glass windows. A jack and jill bathroom with shower over bath and WC can be accessed from either the double bedroom or the landing. A further striking super-king-size bedroom with stunning vaulted ceiling and feature windows is at the end of the landing, with an en-suite shower room and WC.
Heading outside from the hallway, sitting/dining room or utility room you will an enclosed walled garden with a lawn area and a large patio with outdoor dining furniture for 8 guests, additional seating and a BBQ, offering a sunny spot to relax and enjoy a drink or meal outdoors. To the front of the property is a generous enclosed lawn with a low stone wall and views across the village. During summer months, rare Bee Orchids can be seen in the front garden .
