Location is perfect as Canyon lodge is just across the street. Quick 5 MINUTE walk to Canyon Lodge and your day begins! No hassle with parking and or the shuttle bus. Great Phase II condo. Park right in front of our condo entrance! No stairs to haul all your luggage and groceries in and out and your vacation quickly begins with a great stay in the 1849 Complex. Very accessible condo for elderly, etc. Great 2 bedroom layout with King bed in the Master bathroom with a 49' flat screen TV and bathroom. 2nd bedroom has a Queen bed along with a 40" flat screen TV. New 70" flat screen TV in main living room along with two couch sofa sleepers. Condo can sleep 4 to 6 guest very comfortable. Kitchen fully stocked to cook all meals. Walk to the Gondola to get to the Village or take the free shuttle to town located a few yards from the front door of the main entrance to the 1849 complex. Amenities include outdoor swimming pool, 3 hot tubs, sauna, small private sledding hill, fire & BBQ pit in the summer, lounge with ping pong table, Foosball, large screen TV.

In the late spring and early summer, the mountain transforms into a hiking and mountain biking playground. Great vacation destination for those who love the outdoors. Whether you’re traveling to town for a winter ski trip or a Yosemite National Park adventure, 1849 Condos is the perfect base camp for your vacation. There is so much to explore in the eastern Sierra Ranges! 1849 Condos’ recreation area also features a barbecue pit, ping-pong table, lounge with big screen TV and laundry facility.

The condo affords easy access being located in the newer phase II. The condo is located just outside from the heated pool and 3 Jacuzzi's and coin laundry service should you need to do some laundry while at the complex.

The 1849 Condominium complex is one of the most desired places to stay due to its location to Canyon lodge and not having to hassle with parking during the busier winter snow season.

Very Updated and Clean Stay

I was very impressed with the upgrades to the place and it was super clean. Tons of snow over the weekend and the property did a great job of clearing it so we could still get to the slopes and get out with the vehicle when needed.

Very nice place. Walls are a bit thin and you can hear every footstep from unit above, but that is expected for this type of unit. Very convenient to Canyon. Would definitely stay here again.

Great accomodations

Four of us (two couples) stayed at the condo over president's day weekend and we were very pleased with the accommodations. The convenience of being able to easily walk to Canyon Lodge was awesome and the condo was furnished well for what we needed. Everything was in working order except for one heater which was easily compensated for with the other four heating units. Having two separate bathrooms was particularly nice because a lot of rentals in the area only have one.

In desperate need of renovations and updating

The location and proximity to Canyon can't be beat. However, the condo is in dire need of upgrading and improvements. The carpets are worn and dirty, the appliances and bathtubs and are old (the second shower is barely useable because it's so small), paint is peeling, etc. The drawers in the bedrooms all stick. It just appears that the owners have not improved on the inside of the condo for many years.

This place is very good for a single family with a few older kids. I was a little frustrated with communication with the property owner. Additional check in instructions and parking pass weren’t emailed until the evening of our check in date (while I was driving from socal area). We had to rewash some mixing bowls that were dirty. Fireplace was advertised but there was no firewood or lighter source. Some lamps had burned out bulbs or were not plugged in. The ice maker in the freezer was also not working. Great location but it was a bit of a walk to Canyon lodge as there was no direct footpath from our condo (had to walk around parking lot loop or take a short drive to the lodge and drop off w kids).

What an amazing mountain!

First time skiing at Mammoth - WOW! The condo is conveniently located near the Canyon Lodge lift - just leave your skis in the lodge lockers - makes an easy walk. Lovely condo with views of the mountains. Great hot tub with loads of interesting skiers! We will definitely be back!

Great location and kitchen

The location is very close to Canyon Lodge, chair 8 is about a five minute walk with boots on. The kitchen is well stocked. The second bedroom has bunk beds. I will look even better with new carpet!

Cozy vibes

This is a nice property, it has a warm and cozy vibe about it, especially the living room. My kids brought their Xbox and were able to enjoy the little gaming area off the dining room. We really liked the artwork on the walls of Yosemite and were well pleased with the condo. Very clean and parking was no problem. Little hiccup with the entry code that got resolved quickly and We were able to enjoy Mammoth and some of its natural wonders.

Nice stay

We had a good stay. It's a nice, central location. The property was clean and looked like the pictures that were posted. The community facilities looked nice, but they were mostly closed due to Covid. That is to be expected though. We had a minor hiccup in the check in process bc we were given the wrong code, but it was taken care of quickly and we were able to get in. It's a good sized unit. It was just my husband, daughter and me so we had plenty of space. Definitely room for a few more people. All kitchen appliances worked well and there was a decent supply of pots, pans, utensils, etc. The second bathroom has a pretty small shower that works fine but we just opted to use the other shower bc there were only 3 of us and it was just more comfortable to use. We'd stay at this property again in the future.

New Years at Mammoth

Haven’t come back to Mammoth in 15 years trying the slopes in Tahoe, Utah and Colorado. Well welcome home to Cali with the best mountain for skiing anywhere. Gorgeous weather conditions and a great condo to stay at and enjoy the new year. We intend to come back later this year and next and hope the 1849 location is available. Our kids learned to ski and snow board on this mountain 15 years ago and all agree they are glad to be home again. This is a great place in every aspect from convenience, location and ease of access. Thanks to the owners and we intend to be regulars.

Nice space - read the instructions before you go though.

The condo was very comfortsble. The TVs are everywhere but the big TV doesn’t get regular channels. We had to watch the football game in one of the bedrooms through a rocky device. You have to bring your own cable provider subscription with you which is in the instructions I didn’t read. I have stayed at 1849 several times before, and the parking was the garage. This time we had to park outside. No issue for our trip since it didn’t snow, but be forewarned. The Wi-Fi was real good and the place was clean and stocked with linens and such.

This review is inaccurate and does not accurately describe the condo TV setup. There are four televisions in the condo and the only one without any service is the TV just off the dinning table, which is purposely set up for gaming consoles for the kids and or for DVD viewing purposes only. At the 1849 condominium complex every unit in the complex has it's cable subscription through the homeowners association, which allows for only one cable box and any other TV would then be connected via a straight cable connection to the TV for basic cable subscription only. So at this condo, the main TV in the living room has a cable box and it is located at the TV and allows for full cable access in addition to being a smart TV you can also enjoy Netflix and Amazon prime, etc. Further it is also is a smart cast television, which then allows you to broadcast from your smart phone and or your IPAD for any subscription that you have such as direct TV and or your cable provider through the smart case setting on the TV. I often use the smart cast feature for my direct TV subscription so that I can enjoy my local channels should I choose to do so. The back bedrooms are both Roku TV's(Not Rocky TV's) these are also smart televisions and again you can enjoy your own personal Netflix, Amazon, ESPN, showtime, etc, etc, etc all through your own subscriptions and or you can switch to the basic cable channels. However your better viewing options for the two Roku TV's in each bedroom would be to use your own cable subscriptions through each application as the applications will broadcast in HD and be a better viewing experience than through the basic cable service. Parking is indeed outside and just in front of the condo. So I find parking better at my unit and phase II buildings at the complex, as you can park right at the unit and load and unload your car with ease and not have to use the stairs on the main building to run up and down to unload and load all of your belongings. The complex also has its own snowplow and onsite management, so on snowy days the complex parking lot is continuously cleared so that everyone can come and go as needed. As for the instructions, please do make sure to read the instructions if you do rent this condo. The instructions are send for a reason, so that you can enjoy the condo to its fullest and understand how things operate at the condo and the 1849 complex as well. It was dirty and the heaters didnt work.

Some dishes were dirty, and the closets full, making it impossible to store our things. The heaters from one of the main rooms and from the living room didn’t work. We called the owners to tell them about this matter and they never resolved this issue.

Yes, the main hallway heater did not work as it was broken from a previous guest that stayed in the condo, when one of their boards sheared the knob. However all other heaters are functional, one in each bedroom and the two in front of the condo. Those four heaters provide plenty of heat to heat the condo. The hall heater is scheduled to be fixed this week and hopefully the control knob will not be sheared or broken by a future guest. As for the dishes, they were cleaned and left in the dishwasher. This guest arrived on a day in which a guest checked out earlier in the day and the cleaning crew came in and cleaned and washed dishes and left the dishwasher full or running when they left. I will make sure to add note or let guest know that this may happen on same day guest check out and arrivals in the future. The onsite contact/manager was at the condo as requested the next day to go over the this as well as the heaters, so both items were addressed when brought to our attention. Lastly, to boldly state that the condo was dirty in the main headline is an overstatement, false and not representative at all of the condo's condition upon their arrival. Each closet is not full, but does have extra blankets and pillows for guest to use if necessary. The back bedroom has a small closet and the master bedroom has a full closet with plenty of hangers for storage and both closets have ample space for suitcases, boots and shoes.
