Nice spacious house

This house was great for our family of 4. Very clean with a well-stocked kitchen and plenty of space. The gated community is nice and safe, with amenities like a pool and walking trails. Overall we loved it.

Comfortable but ….

The house is nice and comfortable but our biggest issue was that every single dish, utensil, or pot we pulled out to use had to first be cleaned because they were dirty. The house in general was clean except for higher areas which need attention, and the master bedroom lacked blinds or curtains on the slider making the room completely visible to neighbors in their backyard. The proximity to Wisp is great and the neighborhood is lovely.

The house itself was clean, pictures listed do tell the whole story. However there was no curtain on the sliding glass door to the master, the bathroom curtains did not provide much privacy, and there is a musty smell in the house. We had issues getting in the house on day one due to the locks being changed and having the wrong key for the front door. I wish the description of lake access were a little more clear, it is not anywhere close to the lake.

Deep Creek Get Away

Hello! We enjoyed our 3 night stay in this house very much! Let me discuss some pros and cons. Cons - The oven incessantly beeped as it showed an error and was unusable during our stay. We had to turn off power to stop the beeping, and we had to change meal planning. The TVs are advertised as smart tvs, but are not. (Bring a Roku or something with you.) Wifi dropped A LOT and was unusable the last full day. ( In fact, we could not check out online because of the poor connection.) No property map to show where to find community trash and pool. Pros - Cute house and decor! Nice and sturdy furniture. There was a hot tub, fire pit, and plenty of outdoor seating. It had a very private feel. The beds in two of the bedrooms were very comfortable with lots of extra blankets and pillows. The place was clean and well stocked. The management of the property was very responsive. (Maintenance came quickly for the oven issue; however, were unable to fix it.) Location of the property was very close to the heart of Deep Creek. All in all we had a nice time! Hope this review helps!

Enjoyable Weekend in the Woods

Our family of six (four adults, one four year old and a 13 month old) really enjoyed our weekend in the Deep Creek woods at the Tau House. Situated in a gated community, the log home is spacious, airy and architecturally impressive. The furnishings are comfortable and nicely blend modern with rustic. The artwork is very tasteful. The several games and kids Lego set was a bonus. The kitchen is perfect for meal preparation and socializing around food and drink. Usually stocked condiments (salt, pepper, ketchup, mustard, etc. weren't provided. The three bedrooms were quite accommodating, but the two bathrooms are on the main floor presented a minor logistical challenge. Another downside, the beds were very soft and hard on those of us with bad backs--all the adults. The fireplace draw was inadequate to keep minor smoke out of the living area. (Yes I did have the flu open properly.) But it didn't seem to bother anyone but me. The front porch got plenty of light throughout the day for reading and relaxing and taking in the woodsy view. There is no lake view, but I don't recall that being advertised. The pool area was close and expectedly closed for the season but the playground and short trails were great for the kids. I anticipated bringing my own dry wood to burn in the fire pit which was right on point. All in all, the stay was close to excellent, but I think the price point is a little off mark by about $45- $50 per night. The Taylor Real Estate management fee, and taxes increased the advertised cost and we spent an additional amount for cancellation insurance, which is a gamble but wise for those who anticipate last minute complications. The management firm did allow us entry an hour early and did respond promptly with ample wood for the inside fireplace--so no complaint there.

Quint, rustic home tastefully decorated.

Really love the place. Only thing I would suggest they do is to add a curtain in the master bedroom where the sliding doors are. Neighbors left their fire light and spotlight on all night and it was very bright. The glass door in the master shower also needs adjusted. It is not properly aligned. If someone slams it too hard, it will chip or break. Only other suggestion would be to have the cleaning staff blow both decks with a leaf blower. There were a few cobwebs in some areas.

Throughout the week we made meals in the kitchen and on the grill, we used the hot tub, and we watched wildlife traverse the back yard. We saw a flock of wild turkeys, several deer, and even a bear with her two cubs! The home came well-equipped for vacation use and was a comfortable and beautiful launching point for all our adventures. I read in other reviews about the upstairs bedrooms' occupants having to use a bathroom on the main floor, so it was not a surprise or a major issue. We loved the porches, the great room, and the view of the back yard most of all. I would recommend this to any family of four or five looking for a comfortable week away.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very much enjoyed the long weekend. A truly beautiful home. Just a note to future visitors. Thought there are two bedrooms upstairs, there are no bathrooms upstairs. Just something to consider. Just a few slight hiccups such as plenty of firewood, but no way to get it started, i.e. kindling, starters or even paper. We ended up collecting kindling outside. There was no brush for cleaning the grill and it was fairly dirty. Overall a very enjoyable stay though.
