Charming, Eco-Friendly Cabin Retreat, Heart of Deep Creek

Our cabin is a charming retreat in a native woodland setting. It's in the heart of Deep Creek Lake, offering recreational activities year round. Wisp Ski Resort is 3 miles and the lake is a short stroll away. Stay at our cozy hideaway under the stars. In winter you'll find a snow filled wonderland as you relax by the crackling fire. Spring, summer or fall take a swim, explore nature or go boating. Go to the nearby cafe or stay and have cappuccino on the deck. Take a day trip to Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater. Our cabin is an accommodating, truly hip, cozy getaway for families and singles. It's the place for a wonderful healthy break at an affordable price.

We will continue to make changes to the property in keeping with a greener world. We would appreciate your insights in creating a 'greener' cabin as well. Here's to a healthy body, mind, planet and lifestyle. We look forward to sharing our cabin retreat with you.


Eco Friendly Living: It's our goal to have the cabin completely renewable(green)and self sufficient, as soon as technology and financing allows. Currently we have used eco-paints that do not emit harmful gases. We've furnished the cabin using Craig's list which means most everything is recycled at least one generation. We use renewable products and recycle whenever possible. Water is renewably drawn from our well and heat is enhanced by the fireplace. Safe keyless entry!

We had an amazing time! The cabin is adorable, had everything we needed, and the location was perfect. Close to the lake, the state parks, and great neighborhood bars/restaurants. The hosts went above and beyond. We hope to come back for another girls weekend!

If you're looking for someplace to stay in Deep Creek Lake, Maryland, this little cabin checks all the boxes. Clean and so comfortable with all the amenities you need. Has a gas grill, a hot tub, and a large fire pit area. Centrally located so all the activities are just a very short drive away. The owners will send you a wealth of information so you'll know how everything works and no questions unanswered. Very reasonably priced too. Thanks for a great stay!

We had a wonderful stay this weekend at this adorable and well-appointed cabin! It had incredible amenities to make a family of 5 very comfortable in between skiing, snow-tubing and hiking. We enjoyed the scenery in the woods with the fire pit and lighting. Will definitely be back!
We loved the firepit for s'mores!
The boys appreciated roasting marshmallows.

This cozy cottage was filled with many details missing from other cabins we’ve rented. Art, vignettes and lots of lighting options! We also loved the outdoor area filled with boulders, lighting, bottom and fire pit. The owners also accommodated a request without extra charge. We also enjoyed the restaurants they recommended, Moonshadow where they have live music. We enjoyed exploring the area with the large Deep Creek lake sourrounded by mountains.

An amazing property. Beautiful views of the water from the first floor. Fantastic communal space and kitchen. Hot tub was great. Felt remote. Easy to get to. Super close to fun things to do and wisp. Bedrooms were well sized and the beds were very comfy. I wouldn't change a thing and we're looking forward to coming back next year.

Pros: very idyllic outdoor space. Excellent fire pit, hot tub, string lights, mossy exploration area that’s fun for kids. Nice space for parking and unloading. Washer and dryer on site are always a plus. Good space for the kids to sleep downstairs. Great location close to many major attractions and amenities. The host is very on top of the info sent prior to arrival. Cons: We were honestly a bit baffled by the high reviews this cabin had with respect to cleanliness. We saw a mouse our first night, there were mouse droppings in ALL kitchen drawers, and this rendered the kitchen unusable unless we wanted to personally hand wash and dry every item before we used it. We did that, but mostly we ate out as cooking in a place with no dishwasher and mouse dirt was a nonstarter. The floors left our feet dirty and clearly were in need of a good mop, and under the beds was incredibly dusty. The main bedroom has a fabric headboard that is stained yellow from age/use, and the green quilt on the bed looked dirty and stained, so we ended up not using it. Overall, it gives a very unclean and upsetting vibe—especially at this price point. If it had been the type of situation the host could quickly remedy, we would have reached out, but we didn’t feel that our problems had quick or easy fixes—especially for a stay as short as ours (3 nights). Not clean or managed in a way that aligns with our expectations for properties with such high ratings and price. Sadly, we would not stay here again.

This will ALL be corrected asap. My sincere apologies. The mouse issue is extremely rare and I’m appalled that this happened. We pay a service to make sure this does not occur. Clearly it failed.
