The town of Redstone is on the Crystal River and is known as; “The Ruby of The Rockies”. This historic town is the home of The Redstone Inn which resides on the National registry of Historic Places. There is also unique shopping, guided fishing and hunting opportunities, a general store with basic food, and a small liquor store. There is also the Redstone Castle which is undergoing renovations and will be opening in 2018 for events and hotel availability. For more information regarding Redstone see the following website:

Some of the local activities in the area include visiting the natural hot springs in the Crystal river called the Penny Hot Springs. There are also parks to visit and numerous hiking and biking trails for additional outdoor enjoyment.
A little further out is the town of Marble where they mine marble and sell related items big and small at the local gift store. Marble is also the home of a tasty BBQ restaurant named Slow Grove'n BBQ. It is a favorite and worth the 11-mile drive to try. Driving the other direction is Carbondale where you will find shopping for daily items and local shops. There are also a number of restaurants offering a variety of different menu items; you are sure to find some favorites. Driving beyond Carbondale you will find yourself at a stoplight indicating Glenwood Springs is to your left and Aspen is to your right. Each of these cities offer unique experiences for visitors and locals.
Our favorite activity in Glenwood Springs is a day at the Glenwood Hot Springs pool. You could also try something like a Segway tour, commune with nature on miles of trails, take in a show, fly high on a thrill ride, soak in mineral hot springs, or chill out on the river through the gorgeous Glenwood Canyon. The possibilities are endless when there are so many exciting and fun things to do in Colorado. For more information regarding Glenwood Springs see the following websites:

If you enjoy water activities, there are also two reservoirs within an hour drive of Redstone. They are the Ruedi and Paeonia Reservoirs; boats and floats are welcome. If you enjoy water skiing at a high altitude there is that option as well.
Redstone is a quiet and peaceful little town with access to many diverse activities which can keep you as busy as you chose to be. The town is steeped in a rich history where former Presidents, Governors, and business owners spent summers to escape the big city heat. It is a quiet little neighborhood where people expect quiet times and a peaceful existence. Because of the surrounding neighborhood’s life style expectations this is a long-term rental home for mature adults 50 years old and older.
With warm summer days and cool summer nights Redstone is a perfect escape from hot summer heat at 7200 feet above sea level. If you enjoy sitting on the front porch of a home built with quality construction and beautiful clean architectural lines while listening to the river and experiencing cool summer breezes then this home will be calling you back each year for a classic Colorado Mountain summer experience in the heart of the White River National Forest.
