Cute cozy spot surrounded by trees. Very close to several trail heads, and a short drive to a grocery store in Crescent City. Easy check in instructions.
We are doing a long road trip from Seattle to Arizona. We arrived at this adorable cabin at 1am! I was so thankful to arrive and see a beautiful clean cabin where we didn’t have to do anything but curl up and go to bed. We will be staying here again on our way home!
Quiet, simple and amazing. We felt safe and secure while we stayed at the cabin. My Mom-in-law wanted to stay, but we convinced her to get in the car ♡. No TV for 3 days was the best! Thank you!
If you are like us and want to cook your meals, this is not the place for you. It was really the only drawback for us. Other than that, It was a great location near a lot of hiking. Definitely a quiet location. You really felt you were among the redwoods.

This cabin is set in the most beautiful setting, this was a bucket list vacation and it will always be remembered due to the cabin stay and the beauty of the redwoods and Crescent city.
The only thing i have to say regarding the cabin is that if you are staying more then 1 day and need cupboard space well there is no cub
The cabin is nice and in a perfect spot. It is not too far from Cresent city or the hiking trails. The cabin was very clean and perfect for two people. My only complaint is there was not pot or skillet. We had to go buy our own skillet so we could make eggs for breakfast. Over all it is a perfect little cabin.
We arrived in town shortly after check-in (3:00 p.m.) The property is exactly as shown. Adorable little place and very clean. Looks like owner is expanding and building more units. Total peace and quiet. No TV, no internet, a perfect getaway with no distractions. Will definitely stay here again
The cabin was very clean and nice. We enjoyed our visit. It was a little hard to find but that was probably because it was dark when we got there. Since it did not have a TV it would have been nice to have a deck of cards or some board games. Maybe you could have the TVs installed with DVD players since you are waiting for cable to make it into the property. The bed was very comfortable but it was super high and hard to get into. It would have been nice to have a mirror either in the living area or the bedroom so someone could be getting ready with hair etc while another person was in the bathroom. All and All this place was GREAT. We will be back again!
This place is SO NICE! It was so peaceful and beautiful. The owners have really taken the time to make the place a great home away from home. It is nicely stocked. My husband used all his coffee at the prior home we were at so he was very happy there was coffee supplied “Bless this man”. There was a nice picnic bench outside. The windows are so clean that I thought they were open. The bedding was top notch. I was prepared for no tv or Wi-Fi so I brought a projector and dvd’s. Place does not show up on the maps as he said but was raspier found by using VRBO’s location directions. We have two (one in training) service dogs with us. It was easy for us to walk them on the loop. That is huge for me with my handicap. The greenery and ferns gave you a lot of privacy from the other cabins. I would give it 10 stars if I could.
Cons: a spatula would be nice.
It was a good place to stay. Close to everything we wanted to see. Quiet at night. Host was helpful and polite. Very clean inside cabin. We would stay there again.
This is the cutest cabin. Great location. No WiFi or tv but that was not a problem because we did have cell service. I would definitely stay here again.
Wish we could have stayed longer! Booked this little gem for a 1-night stay during our adventures of driving the California to Oregon Coast. The details for the layout and fitting all the amenities into this small cabin were well thought out! We would 100% recommend and stay again if we are in the area.
Good. Very nice bed. Only negative is it seemed small for my family, and could have used more seating (couch and 2 kitchen chairs was all) though there was not enough room for more.
Absolutely lovely property. It felt as if we were secluded, but it was a short 10 minute drive to Crecent City and the parks. It was perfect for a weekend getaway!
I am an avid outdoor enthusiast who relishes in the natural beauty of this region. I spend most of my free time fishing, surfing and mountain biking. When I moved here almost fifteen years ago, I felt that I had discovered a place that was truly special. I strive to provide that same experience for every guest that chooses Fern Hook.
Why they chose this property
I bought this piece of raw land, with the sole intention of creating a vacation experience unique to Hiouchi. its location is centralized to conveniently experience all of the areas attractions. All the while providing private wooded settings for multiple deluxe cabins.
