Ocean Views! Dog Friendly Home in Salvo w/ Hot Tub, Elevator, and Screened Porch

OCEANVIEW Salvo - Dory Road - Mornings provide the sunrise over the ocean and evenings provide the sunset over the sound. A more relaxing vacation cannot be found! Just 3 lots from the ocean leaves only a short walk to the beach. Ground level features a carport, fish cleaning station, outdoor shower, charcoal grill, and 7-person hot tub. The first level master bedroom has a king bed and private bath. Additional first level bedrooms have one with a queen bed and one with a single and pyramid bunk. These two bedrooms share a bath. The upper level has a sunny, spacious living room with lots of seating, a dining area seating up to 10 people, kitchen and second master bedroom with a queen bed and bath. Just off the dining area is a screened porch with table and chairs for dining. Decks on both levels provide access to enjoy those fantastic views. Choose SHIFTING SANDS for your vacation home and experience the best that Hatteras Island has to offer!

New for 2024: This year brings a new bedroom layout. The first-level master bedroom, currently a queen, will now feature a king bed. The bedroom with two singles will be converted to a queen bedroom.

Perfect beach week

This house has everything we needed for the perfect beach week. Quiet culdesac, short walk to a beautiful, uncrowded beach, well stocked kitchen, great light on living/kitchen floor. House was very clean. Beds were comfortable. Nothing fancy, but that’s not what we want at the beach anyway.

The Amazing Family Getaway

An Amazing place and spot right at the beach on the Outter Banks in North Carolina. Large enough with space for the family inside and out to enjoy ourselves and the closeness to site seeing. Very nice home with great features

The house was very nice. It had everything we could ask for. Very close to the beach. And the elevator was great for luggage and pur older pup. Our property manager was super helpful. Even helped us get some items back that we left behind. I would love to have the king bed on the too floor.

Great place to stay

Unfortunately our trip was cut short by hurricane Dorian but the couple of days that we spent at the house were great. I didn't realize when we initially booked that this was a smoking house and as a non-smoker was extremely worried that we'd be spending the week in an ash tray but as it turned out, there really wasn't any indication that the house had been smoked in. As another review mentioned, the kitchen being on the second floor was a bit of an inconvenience when you first get there (assuming you bring groceries with you) but after that it was no big deal and since that is also where the main living area is, it was nice to have it there where the views were better. It's only a couple of houses from beach access too which was great. Overall a great place that we may even end up trying to book for next year.

Great place

I was notified that the house was ready. Upon arrival we found it had not been cleaned. I called the office and explained. A short time later a lady came and inspected the house. She apologized for the miscommunication and said she was calling for help. A short time later her army showed up. They had the house cleaned in record time. Overall the lady was very professional and even purchased pizza for our trouble. The house and area was all great. We loved our stay and will definitely be back. Again my thanks to the nice woman who took care of getting the house cleaned. She was great!!!

Beautiful home and location

Home was very well kept and equipped with everything we needed for our weeks stay. Location was great and short drive to some excellent fishing. Would definitely stay again!

Enjoyed exploring the area for the first time. Surprised by the lack of open restaurants this time of the year. Very nice accommodations except for all the steps.

Great Week

Everything about the property was exceptional. There were a few exceptions. First, due to this verbiage, we thought sheets and towels were included...All towels and bedding washed in hot water that’s at least 60ºC/140ºF. There were no towels and/or sheets. Second, I did not get sent the access code at the check in time. While driving, we had to keep trying to call the rental agency to get this information. No one was returning our call. We thought we would not have a place to sleep for the night. Finally after several tries, we got through to someone who cared and got the property manager to call us. She said she sent the information, however, I never received it. Considering I received all there other communications, I find it suspicious that the access codes were not one of them. In the end it all worked out. We had a great week!

Nice quiet neighborhood very close to beach. Good amount of stores and restaurants nearby without all the traffic. Enjoyed the water sports rentals right across the road.

Great time.

Except for the weather, we had a great week. House was as expected and extremely clean. Other than vertical blinds that need repair or replace, no issues to report. Would definitely rent again.

The loveliest vacation spot!

We adored the house, it’s location and the overall area. The area is quiet, a small walk to the beach, with kind locals around! We rented bikes and used every inch of the bike path and neighborhood space. At Shifting Sands, everything was as-described and the home was immaculate. We were a little nervous booking a smoking/pet friendly home, but there were no sign of either! The kitchen was well stocked, the rooms were very spacious and we loved each person having a place to ‘be’ when desired. The dual wrap around decks were furnished with chairs and lay down chairs and we were able to use the kit under space of the house for night time corn hole (rented) and grilling out (bring some charcoal)! Really great food choices in this stretch of the beach as well. We are already looking forward to our return next year!
