Tokay Heritage House - Quiet Country Home in Lodi, CA

Tokay Heritage House is a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath country property that has been built with love and filled with family memories and treasures. Passed down from generation to generation, the home has been lovingly updated and is open for you to make wonderful memories of time spent with family and friends of your own. The history of the home reflects the deep farming history of the Lodi area that has brought wine lovers and those that want a break from the business of life together with their families and friends. Just 3 miles from the edge of town, the home is surrounded by vineyards and centered among many quality family owned wineries.
A modern kitchen is filled with gourmet appliances, a large pantry, and all that any family needs to enjoy meals together in the adjacent dining area.
The private master suite has a king size bed, large dressing area including access to a walk in closet, flat screen tv, built in desk and office supplies, and direct access to the back covered patio. The Harmony Grove schoolhouse themed room has one queen bed and a walk in closet. The Live Oak room has two twin beds and a walk in closet. Toys and games are provided and your family can gather around the wood burning fireplace or relax on the expansive covered patio to watch the sunset over the grape vineyard. The open plan living and dining area are furnished with comfort and family gatherings in mind. Antenna/smart tv, Roku and wi-fi are provided.

Quiet retreat

This was our 3rd stay at Heritage House. It is the perfect location for us while visiting family in the area. Easy access to local population centers but quiet and peaceful rural setting.

Great place

This is a really nice property, we were there for a grandson college graduation, with some other family members. Marne really helped us out with letting us bring are 14 month old puppy and giving us permission to have one extra guest. The location is great being surrounded by vineyards and orchards. If in the area again, would definitely stay there.

Weekend Retreat

We needed to vacate our family home for the weekend, and Marne was quick to book us in this charming home. We had such a nice weekend enjoying takeout from local restaurants on the backyard patio, listening to the birds, and enjoying the Delta breezes. It was a nice respite from every day life! We will look forward to staying at Tokay Heritage house again in the future!

A haven of peace and quiet in the busy central valley.

Charming home and vinyard setting. House and grounds are spacious and well-appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Location is a quiet oasis but with easy access to freeways and local amenities. We were visiting family who live in the area and Tokay Heritage House was a perfect place for us all to meet. Would not hesitate to stay again when visiting the area.

Great weekend in the vines

Had a great girls weekend here over Memorial Day. House is spacious, fully equipped and has great outdoor spaces. We would definitely return. And as an added bonus, it's walking distance from Harney Lane - where we had a great wine tasting experience!

Lodi visit for a dog show

We loved Tokay Heritage House, and it’s location. We brought dogs for a dog show (fully disclosed) and the house worked out great for all of us. We cleaned up after ourselves and the dogs, and we are hoping to rent this lovely house again for next year’s shows. We even went to Mettler winery for some great wine! Thank you, Marne!

The Perfect Place

This was our second time staying at the Tokay Heritage house. We went back because this is the perfect place for us to stay in Lodi. Great location, quiet, comfortable. The whole house fan brought the cool evening air inside and freshened the air. Property manager is very good and communication was excellent. She is above and beyond with her help. We will stay here again when next in Lodi.

Fabulous stay

My Grand-daughter, Great-grandsons and myself fell in love with this home. It was very clean, spacious and lovely. If you like to be surrounded by vineyards, country and serenity, you will absolutely love this home. It had all the amenities and Marne was great......so easy to work with and always available for any questions I had. I have stayed in many vacation rentals and this by far ranks the highest. I highly recommend and I will be back for sure!

A Wonderful, cozy, and comfortable Museum House

We had a great time! The house has so much love and history in it. We enjoyed looking at all of the historical pieces and documents throughout the house. The back patio was the highlight though, gorgeous flower garden, comfortable seating, and a cozy fire pit. My only suggestion is to grease the doors, they were rather squeaky. Otherwise we loved everything about this house!!!

The house was great! Everything very clean except kitchen island got missed while cleaning. Few crumbs birthday candle and sticky stops but easily wiped up not a big deal. Marne was very responsive when contacted. Wished we could have spent more time at the house it was great!

Home from Home

I am a recent graduate from San Jose state, and my mother now lives in North Carolina. I needed to find a space to hold my family members during their visit, that accommodated my mom’s small dog and was close to the rest of our family in Stockton, Lodi, and Brentwood. This property was perfect for us, and felt like our vacation home in Maine. I was very pleased with the location, and it was the perfect distance from Lodi beer (one of our favorite spots to eat and spend time together). Highly recommended, equipped with everything your family or group needs, and beautiful to boot. I didn’t get a chance to write in the guest book, but this is truly a piece of the family’s heart that I’m grateful we had a chance to take part in.

Our group of five adults loved this property. The layout of the home was ideal for quiet and privacy, and convenient for shared meals and puzzle-time. The kitchen is REALLY well appointed with everything one could need to put on a feed. The outdoor grill and dining area were perfect for leisurely meals. Fantastic property

We had a family reunion to attend in Lodi and this property was 3 minutes away. It is in a great location for wine tasting as well...amongst all the vineyards and small producers. The house has every amenity you'll need...including a fully stocked kitchen with appliances, knives plates and cutting boards etc. Several options for preparing your coffee...truly everything has been thought of. The 3 bedrooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. Tons of pillow options, too. The bathrooms have everything you need and the primary suite bathroom is huge. The A/C works wonderfully (although we had an unseasonably cool 85 degrees all weekend in July so didn't need it quite so much). The internet is definitely slow so if you wanted to work from here, and especially if you wanted to do zoom meetings etc (upload speed) this would be a problem. However, for vacationers it's fine. The outdoor spaces on the front porch and in the backyard are terrific. I would 100% stay here again!

Lovely Weekend in Lodi

We were in town from CO for a graduation, and the property is so wonderful for a family with children. It had everything we needed - plenty of space, comfortable beds, large kitchen with every amenity whether you are cooking in or bringing in takeout. We love the back patio, which is so nice to enjoy the view of the cherry orchards behind the home and listen to all the birds singing. The property provides for a truly relaxing time away. Thank you!

Hi! We are George and Lynnette (Mettler) Cole the owners of the Tokay Heritage House. We met in 1968 in Sacramento, California when George was an Air Force Officer in flight training and I was a student at Sacramento State College. We married in 1970. I grew up in the house that is now Tokay Heritage House, while George grew up in the state of West Virginia. George and I moved around the country while in the Air Force. In 1981, we and our three children made our way to Apple Valley, in southern California, which is our current family home. We are both retired from public education, I as a classroom teacher and George as an Administrator.
In 2010, I inherited the home, and we decided to keep the house as a family vacation home. We remodeled the entire 70 year old house to hopefully last another 70 years.
We enjoy sharing our home with friends and family and decided to widen that circle by sharing it on VRBO. We hope we can be a part of your discovery of the this lovely and interesting area of California.
Our local host is Marne Simpson with Bridges to Home. Marne will be your direct contact before, during and after your stay. She also grew up in the Lodi area and has called it her home for most of her life. Marne is available to help you plan your stay and is happy to make suggestions for events, reservations and things to do while you are visiting. Why they chose this property

Lodi has changed so much since I moved away. We always enjoy wine tasting, good restaurants, Lodi Lake, the surrounding areas and just relaxing in the quiet countryside. To us, Lodi is a perfect place to be in itself or to visit local attractions for a day trip. Just a short drive to the east and you are in the Sierra Mountains or head west and enjoy the Pacific Ocean beaches or San Francisco Bay Area.
