Yes this experience was like staying at my grandmother's house. Fully equipped kitchen! I cooked! Everything was there and thought of. Extremely clean and comfortable. I very much enjoyed my stay. Communication was wonderful. Hosts were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.
We had a perfect long Valentine’s weekend in honesdale largely due to how fantastic this cottage was. It was decorated so beautifully including seasonal touches, beds were comfy, shower was great, awesome amenities and supplies. The pictures do not do this place justice. We REALLY needed a getaway and I don’t think we could’ve designed a better one! The town is cute, lots to do and see but I really DO have to EMPHASIZE AGAIN how lovely this cottage was. It’s a whole vibe. We plan to return. Hosts were wonderful.

My partner Martha loved this place as did i. Had some very delicious berries near the entrance door that told us this was a special place to stay on the hillside above Honesdale PA. Very comfortable accommodations at a reasonable price. Our hosts provided great communications. This will be our "go to" for future trips to the Poconos.
We enjoyed our short stay at this clean and comfortable cottage. It feels like a mother-in-laws cottage, very 1970's vibe. The drip coffee maker was not shown in photos. The cottage seemed larger than the photos online. Mudroom/Laundry, Kitchen, Dining/Living room, hall/office, bathroom and 2 bedrooms. Enclosed porch and unenclosed porch, which we did not use. Heat was set at 70, but we closed the bedroom door to sleep at a cooler temp. We would definitely stay again
Very quaint, owners did a great job making this a home. Enjoyed the neighbors including groundhog, deer and turkey family. Great place to chill out in the yard or front porch and have a few adult beverages.
Our stay here was very comfortable. It was clean and we had everything we needed and would definitely stay here again. The only thing I would say is that we could have used a few more washcloths so if you stay here you may want to bring a couple of your own - there were only one towel and washcloth for each of us and we were here for two days. It would have been nice to have had a clean washcloth for each day. Other than that we were happy with our stay.
The property was perfect for me - I needed a comfortable place for my stay in Honesdale and this house was just right. It's not fancy, but it's comfortable and had absolutely everything I needed.
Comfortable and clean. It's up on a hill from town, easy drive or walk downhill if you're feeling adventurous enough to walk back up. Bring plenty of quarters for metered parking in town. Would stay again.
The property, location met our needs for a place to stay for a few days at a very reasonable price, The rooms are clean and the decorations are attractive and practical. Having cable would be nice to be able to watch some news.

My wife and I had a great stay at the A 20s cottage. The photos are very accurate. We walked into a warm cottage, which was set at 70F. The cottage has two personalities, some may say old, we said charming and a little historical, classic photos, and cozy to sit on the couch, turn on the TV and surf ROKU. The doors to the bedrooms, were exactly as the photos. At night we closed the door and opened the window, that's how warm it was. The kitchen was clean and fully equipped. The whole cottage smelled clean and nothing negative to say. The motion sensor lights were very helpful, maybe one more before you make the right turn to the door. Communication was great with the owners, and for the cost per night, can not beat it. Although it was cold out, I walked up the hill to the wooden chairs, and in the Summer time, would be nice to enjoy the view with a drink. I score it a 10!
Everything was nice. One thing, we had an issue and texted the owners. Instead of texting back, they sent a message through the website. So i didn't get a answer until we got home. Simple misunderstanding.
When we got there the house was ice cold and there was no access to the thermostat. I had to contact the manager and they said they had just turned it on for us and it was set to 69 degrees. We were cold the entire time. Also, someone else’s hairs on the bed.

So sorry for the inconvenience. This was a new Thermostat and the ECO was on. If there is ever a time you were cold the temperature can be made higher we have forced air and the house warms up quickly.
This was an absolute nightmare from the moment we arrived. The "carport" was a very rickety, old structure about to fall down. The house had a terrible odor throughout. Everyrhing in the home was 50 years old and very dingy. It was hot and the temperature couldn't be adjusted due to a lockbox. (See pictures)The bed was so lumpy, I woke up in terribe pain. As if that wasnt enough, a huge bug crawled along the wall. (See pictures)The hosts were totally indifferent and rude. We simply asked to cancel the remainder of our reservation but they refused. Clearly, guest comfort and satiafaction don't even occur to them. They just want an income without maintaining their property at all. Stay FAR away from this one.

If you reading this review and got a good laugh -we did- we are a 4-5 star property. The carport is great when its raining or snowing to have your car under. We are in a rural area so yes a bug might get in - the house was cleaned the night before. I'm sure "her" apartment has a bug or 2 . And yes I say an apartment because if she had a house she would know it is very costly these days. We have a 2 day minimum so when she said there was a bug in the house- she could have called VRBO and went somewhere else she didn't -she spent the night so you know she wasn't scared of it, she probably wanted to stay 1 night. Please read other peoples positive reviews- dont believe this one! Come stay for 100.00 a night and stay at our Cute 20's Cottage !

Charming shabby chic cottage with appropriate sized furniture and lots of small tables to move around for individual needs. Star rating based on price point. Immediate area hotel rooms are substandard or very pricey. This is refreshing with options of cooking/barbecue. Cottage built into hillside and back property upper level has beautiful morning sunrise views. Morning Sun also streams into living room and kitchen. Close to town by car, not walkable. Notes to consider, but not a complaint: It is right on a road but very light traffic. Light sleepers may not like it, not an issue for us. Only one parking spot and in a carport. An oversized vehicle would not fit. Home next door very close but not an issue as cottage windows facing that way are above their roof due to terrain levels, so remains private. Low ceilings in cottage, so if you are very tall may be an issue. Owner very responsive when an issue arose and was resolved pronto. Remember this is a vintage cottage: it is small with all its age and quirks, but efficiently laid out. If you are expecting a designer kitchen, spa bathrooms or spacious bedrooms…this is not for you AND definitely you are in the wrong price range by at least $250 a night. Perfect for 2 adults. Can sleep 4 but if the other 2 are adults they better be people you have traveled with and like 24/7. This was experienced in very early spring with no snow. We would return, hopefully in warmer weather to take advantage of outside.
We had a very nice time in Honesdale. A very small mountain town but such friendly people! We had dinners at a local and at a local Irish pub. We took the train along the Lackawanna River to a site where we listened to bluegrass music. The brother/ sister duo were really very good. It was a very enjoyable time.
Clean, comfortable, and cozy. Helpful notes left around answered any questions we may have had. Convenient to everything yet nice and quiet. Both the cottage and the hosts, Susan & Tom, exceeded our expectations!!
