Absolutely lovely place to stay, so pleasant and peaceful, but lots of watersports and swimming for the kids so they were tired out and happy and the adults got peace and were happy!
We stayed for 3 nights over new year and had a fantastic time. We were 2 families of 4 and the room layout worked perfectly. Beautiful views over the lake and the use of the pool was a great addition to the stay. Would highly recommend. Thank you 😊
We had a lovely weekend with friends . The house was fully equipped - beds comfy and plenty of room to accommodate us all easily.
We used the swimming pool indoor and outdoor and hired paddle boards. Perfect weekend break with all the amenities you need on site.
Property was as advertised and in a lovely setting.
The only problem we found was actually finding the property as the signage was small and the directions/map not very helpful.
Nevertheless we enjoyed ourselves
The house was well equipped and well appointed. More than adequate for our stay. Bedrooms lovely sizes with comfy beds and lovely white linen. Downstairs was a little tight. Roomy sitting and dining area but could have done with boot/shoe space and somewhere to hang winter coats downstairs….…we used downstairs toilet as a storage space for shoes etc. Very well equipped kitchen with plenty of crockery, glasses and cutlery but no space for food storage. Overall, none of the shortfalls detracted from a great few days and yes we would visit again.
Shame there is no intern contact pr tlf especially for booking as there is no network conection for phones. We tried to book the spa/pool on various occasions and finally managed to get in the day before our departure. Car park spaces were to small my son' hire car was dented by the white car from the flat next door, but they refused all claims. Location was fine as im from Gloucester originally. The local inhabitants were till times a pain for as soon as they heard ppl on the terrace, they thought there was a chance of food. Otherwise good accommodation and equipment .

Hi John,
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a review.
We’re so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the accommodation and the estate, it truly is a special place, and we’re glad it left a positive impression on you.
That said, a couple of points in your feedback were a little unclear, so I just wanted to offer a few clarifications in case it’s helpful for you or future guests.
Regarding your mention of reception, I believe you may have been referring to mobile phone signal. The property is fully equipped with Wi-Fi, which guests find reliable. However, as the estate is a protected nature reserve, mobile signal can sometimes be weaker in certain areas of the house, this is unfortunately out of our control due to the natural setting.
You also mentioned difficulty accessing the spa daily. As part of your stay was during a midweek, non-peak period, there was no need to book. It’s only at the weekends that you have to do that. We include details in our pre-arrival information explaining that the spa is just a three-minute stroll from the house and that bookings are only required during peak times, such weekends and school holidays. We’re sorry if this information was missed.
As for the wildlife, the estate is under a preservation order due to its rich natural environment, which is one of its main attractions. Ducks, swans, and other birds are part of daily life here, and while feeding them is prohibited for their safety, they are free to move around the lakes and occasionally approach the deck. We hope you can appreciate that we aim to live in harmony with nature on the estate, which is part of its unique charm.
Once again, we’re delighted you enjoyed the accommodation and surrounding area, and we would love to welcome you back in the future.
Thank you so much for an excellent stay.Property was better than pictured. Everything you could ever need was available to use in the house.Communication was outstanding. We only wish we’d booked for longer than a week!!
The house was lovely, clean and comfortable. Great communication from the property manager- the location is beautiful and facilities were just what we were looking for, including the on site spa and restaurant. Great walks from the house and we found a lovely local pub within walking distance. We'd love to come back
The house is just how it is described, Very clean and tidy and would recommend for a great week away.

Interesting location
Property was really clean. It rained the whole time so we spent a lot of time indoors and the sofas could do with being better and more comfy but the beds were great and I imagine on a sunny weekend it’s a really lovely spot.
so glad you liked teh house and it was nice and clean for you. I am a little suprised about your comment with regards to twin room as we did expain the limitations of the property and sadly some bedrooms are larger then others, I agree it is a smaller bedroom as shown in pictures. We can of course offer larger detchted properties in the future.

Wow! Little piece of heaven. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
We highly recommend this company and property. From the initial enquiry to the follow up after our visit, communication was spot on. They answered all our questions promptly.
Upon arrival we were amazed by the entire lower mill estate. So clean and tidy.
Then we got to 48 Howells mere and all I can say is WOW! The house is amazing. Spotlessly clean and comfy and all our needs were met and more. Room for all and never felt squished in. We had a visit from a rep from the holiday company who was polite and informative.
Beautiful views with a lovely terrace to enjoy a cup of coffee on in the morning. It is so peaceful. The play area was enjoyed by our younger members of the party and we was able to enjoy a nice drink from the balihoo. The inclusive use of indoor and outdoor spa went down a treat for all of us.
Will definitely be back!!
Thank you

Superb Holiday Cottage
Our experience was faultless from booking to departure. This is an excellent property, equipped with everything you need and is set in a beautiful, tranquil location. We visited with family, friends and the dog, everyone loved the place with our friends booking to return twice later this year with their family !! We have also subsequently rebooked, the place is that good. I would honestly 100% recommend this holiday home to everyone. Your relaxation will start the minute you walk through the door.

Beautiful pet friendly accommodation
We have stayed at the Lower Mill Estate many times since it first opened, having tried the majority of the different properties we have stayed the last few times at 48 Howells Mere. This property is extremely well maintained and is equipped with everything that you need. We have stayed there with family and friends, each occasion has been excellent. It is positioned in the quieter side of the LM Estate making your stay totally relaxing. I would 100% recommend this property to everyone.

Weekend Break
The property it’s self was nice, whoever; we had ants on the side this was resolved when we spoke to maintenance and only other thing for us is the amount of bugs flying around.

Hi Laura
so glad you liked the house. Its good to hear that you were happy with our response to the ants issue.
/ad you know the house is on nature reserve and by a lake so sadly there will be some bugs at certain times of year but to our knowledge no pesky moskitos.
Hope to be of service to you again.
