This is our second stay at the Salty Dog, we love the house and where it is located. If your looking for a fancy place this is not for you but if you want a well stocked, comfortable place with a beautiful view of the Ocean and not a place you have to worry about dragging the beach in with you then this is the perfect place! You can be I. Town in just a few minutes on the beach sit on the deck and enjoy the view!
The house was a great place for friends to gather. Beautiful views and easy access to beach. Not a fancy place, but very well stocked, clean and comfortable. We will definitely return.David responded to communication quickly. Much appreciated.
Our third stay— we love the Salty Dog!Amazing location and lovely home. All the amenities and wonderful views. Great communication also— the host is terrific. Looking forward to next year :)
Location cannot be beat! A few hunderd feet from the beach which we had mostly to ourselves. Perfect size for us (2) or two couples. Property could use a bit of TLC.
steps are needed to get to the ocean instead of a ladder which can lead to injuries and falls

Starting in November the waves come up to the dunes and some wash over. the dune all winter This continues until April and the steeper stairs survives. We replace the steps every year and the beach will drop by 10 feet or more and the ladder is the only way down. We will rebuild.
This is a fantastic location if you love the beach. There is a beautiful ocean view from several rooms in the house, including the large main living room. There is easy access to the beach off the back deck, if you are OK with descending a small ladder down to the beach. We enjoyed beachcombing, tidepooling, and walking along the beach. The house itself is comfortable and well-equipped. The house could be cleaner, but for the price and the ocean view it was a very good deal considering comparable properties in the area. We had everything we needed and more. The host was kind, responsive, and accommodating.
This was a treasure by the sea. The quick beach access was lovely. The hot tub was well taken care of and fun for our kids who also enjoyed the many games, stuffed animals and toys available at the Salty Dog. Furthermore, the host was very thoughtful and kind and prompt with all correspondence. We look forward to making our way back to Gold Beach and staying at the Salty Dog.
We loved staying at the property. Our pets were welcomed and loved checking out all out. There are so many windows that you feel like you are almost in the ocean. We really had a nice time.
It was the perfect place for myself and a friend.Love the cozy comfortable feel, the private path to the beach is great, and the neighbors are not on top of you. I will go again.
The view from the front windows was wonderful! Beach access directly from the home was challenging, however , other options a few steps away were easy. The beach awesome and great for long walks. The weather was beyond good but we imagined the fireplace with easy wood access would be great in cool, stormy weather.
We loved our stay at the Salty Dog. The house was clean and so very beautiful. The path to the beach was slightly over grown. The stair down to the path needs to be replaced as they were not very safe to go down. Also, there is a ladder that you have to use to get down to the beach, that ladder was not a safe one to use. There for we were not able to enjoy the beach at the house. But the stay was very nice
A very quaint beachfront cottage complete with a hot tub under the stars. A perfect getaway for a couple who appreciates a homey atmosphere and a conscientious, responsive host.
My husband and I have stayed at the Salty Dog before and we have always enjoyed our stay there. It is in a very nice location with lovely beach views. The home could use some sprucing up and more deep cleaning, but otherwise we love spending time here.
