About this property

Spacious Lakeside cottage - Sleeps 16 - steps to Pool, Fitness, & Pickleball

This cottage was built in 2017 and features all the modern amenities that you would want. Our family spends some of the summer in this home, but we rent out during a few select weeks in the Spring and Fall. Linens and towels for all guests are included in the cleaning fee.

***Please note: Between Memorial Day & Labor Day, an entrance fee is required to be in Lakeside, where our home is located. Please see the Lakeside Ohio website for more details.***

The house is on 3 floors:

The ground floor features a walkout basement with french doors and lots of windows. On this floor is a sitting room / TV room, a bedroom with a King bed, a bedroom with a bunk bed, a full bathroom with glass-door shower, and a laundry room.

On the 1st floor, you'll find an open floor plan with a spacious living room / dining room / kitchen layout. All appliances are stainless steel, and there is a powder room off of the kitchen. French doors open up from the dining room (dining room table seats 8-10) onto a large side deck with another dining table for eight people. The front porch features comfortable seating including an oversize bed-style porch swing (our favorite spot in the house!).

Also on the main floor is a spacious primary suite, with a King bed and private Primary Bath with double marble vanity, separate water closet and oversized tiled shower.

Upstairs are three more bedrooms and a full bath with a tub. Bedroom 1 has a Full bed , Bedroom 2 has a Queen bed, and Bedroom 3 has a Full bed and a Bunk bed.

Behind the house is a studio-style guest house with its own King bed and private bathroom. This little apartment is totally self-contained, and perfect for a couple and a baby or for Grandma and Grandpa! It is just a couple of steps out the back door of the kitchen.

**Please note - this guest house does not have heat or water for the Fall, Winter or Spring seasons (roughly October-April). If booking during those times, please inquire as to whether this extra space is available.**

In June, July & August, we only rent weekly, from Saturday to Saturday. Outside of those times we have a 2-night minimum.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Please wash all dishes, and put them away, and start the dishwasher. Empty all trash cans (including bedrooms) into large trash cans outside.
Leave sheets on beds, and towels in the bathroom. Please leave unused towels on beds.
Turn off lights and lock all doors when you leave. Please text Ryan at 973-842-1367 to let him know when you're departing. Thank you!
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Please be aware that from Memorial Day to Labor Day, there is an admission fee for people and vehicles to enter Lakeside.

We had a wonderful stay here for a long weekend. The community was very convenient with lots of activities for the kids. Very walkable and easy to get around. The house was just as advertised with a fully stocked kitchen and very clean. Owner was great with communication and very helpful.

We had an excellent fall retreat with 14 family members 7 adults and 7 kids (ranging in age from 7 - 16.) The house was very clean and well stocked. House was large enough that everyone had their own space. Close to tennis courts and pickle ball courts that was a big plus for us. Ryan, our host was most gracious and responded quickly. Ryan, was able to provide linens and towels to us for a fee, very nice addition and cut some of our packing detail. Very nice house and as always Lakeside is the best. 5 stars!

Lighthouse Festival Family Getaway

Our family really enjoyed our stay. Ryan was an excellent host. The home was clean, equipped with everything we needed and close to lots of sports facilities, which excited our grandchildren. Lots going on with all the fall activities provided by Lakeside, plus the Northern Lights were visible and were fantastic. Would definitely recommend this home!

Perfect Pick for our big family!

Wonderful stay in beautiful Lakeside! Spacious house with many great spaces to gather, read, play games. Well supplied kitchen for cooking/baking. Excellent location close to walking paths, pool, pickleball and campgrounds. Comfortable walk to downtown. Great owners to work with.

Off Season family gathering

Home was perfect. Big enough that everyone had their own space but small enough that we spent quality time together. Kitchen is great for interacting and the outdoor spaces (and perfect weather) made for a great weekend.

Thanksgiving in Lakeside

We had family members from Cleveland, Chicago, St Louis, Maryland and the Netherlands meeting for Thanksgiving! Ages 3 - 83! The house was lovely-probably the best stocked kitchen we’ve EVER had in a rental! Ryan is an excellent host and a pleasure to work with. We had many cars, so parking would be hard in summer , but was no problem for us for Thanksgiving! Lots of fun games and puzzles! Enjoyed our time there thoroughly! Thank you!!!

Great house but be aware

We enjoyed our week in Lakeside; the house was great - very close to tennis courts, the pool, trails, and a short walk to the pavilion, playground, shuffleboards, uptown shopping, etc. However, and I let Ryan know, who was very apologetic and kindly waived our cleaning fee, but the house wasn't clean. I spent the first two days scrubbing the shower, vacuuming, mopping, etc. in preparation for all of my family to join because I was embarrassed to welcome them in the state in which we found it. Perhaps the cleaning crew is cutting corners? I haven't found a rental in this state before. Ryan and family are currently overseas and it shows only in that those extra little details a nearby landlord attends to are missing - not something to be upset about, but just be aware. We didn't have any toilet paper, dish soap, clean sponges, etc., when we arrived. Ryan ordered more TP as well as paper towels, which were delivered on Wednesday - half way into our visit. No soap or sponges. Ryan was very responsive overall, which was reassuring. A few other things to know that we've experienced in our other Vrbo rentals that we didn't see at this rental or were not as advertised: - No first aid kit and no fire extinguisher (that I saw anywhere). - The washer and dryer are a little finicky and don't work very well. - At least one of the four bikes is inoperable and another has flat tires we did not try to pump because the handle bars are bare metal - no grips of any kind. - The main bath toilet seat is broken and rocks. - All "extras" are missing - bar or shower soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. - samples that you might experience in other stays, so bring all toiletries, including a hair dryer - again, just FYI. - The main floor living room furniture is quite soiled - so much so that we covered it with a blanket - and has exposed stuffing. These points not withstanding, the house accommodates families well and we really liked the extra cottage out back. The house also has quite a few kids' items - markers, paper, watercolors, dollhouse, games, etc., that we enjoyed. If you haven't visited Lakeside before: It becomes admission only the Friday before Memorial Day through Labor Day. That means you are charged EVERY day for entrance. That would be roughly $80/day for our family, so do your homework and factor those costs in. Lakeside Chautauqua is a cute and fun and the greater Lakeside/Marblehead peninsula is great - near several islands and lots to do/see.

Brother's Weekend

We plan a trip every year for our brothers (my husband and I) and their kids who are able to make it. This year we chose Marblehead instead of our usual cabin. This house had the perfect location and more than enough space for us all! The owner was extremely responsive and accommodating! We are so Thankful for another amazing annual brother's trip! ❤️

Family reunion weekend

Had a great Fall weekend in Lakeside. The house is beautiful and has plenty of space. Nice kitchen and lots of bedroom space. It was too chilly to sit outside but the porches are also very nice. We appreciated small touches like the golf clubs and balls provided for mini golf. Easy walking distance into town. Very nice weekend with family we hadn’t gotten to see in a long time! We hope to come back!

Peaceful easy feeling

We six cousins gathered for our annual reunion. The house was plenty large enough and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay in Lakeside. Being there after Labor Day many shops and restaurants were closed. We went to Put in Bay which was very quiet and enjoyed not having crowds. The Marblehead and Port Clinton Light houses were worth going to. All in all a good visit. Beds were good, kitchen stocked, and, clean. Beware of steps to get

Birthday and Family Reunions

We had a wonderful family week at this cottage. Rented to golf cart so it made it easier with the age gap from 90 to 9 months old to get around. Kitchen had everything at your fingertips. The only thing that was missing was a recliner, sharp knives and a dehumidifier in the basement. We absolutely will ask to return again with our family.

Great communication even when we had some issues

Our whole family described our trip as the perfect trip even with a few hiccups. The house fit our entire family perfectly and was within walking distance to pickleball, and the pool! After we had been there a couple of days we had some plumbing back up in the house, and Ryan and his dad helped us get everything back in order within a day even while Ryan was out of the country! We had to communicate with them more than the average hosts due to this problem but they were helpful and efficient to get everything back in working order. We would happily stay here again. ❤️

Wonderful home

My family and I stayed for a week in this lovely Lakeside home. Ryan was a fantastic communicator and we enjoyed our stay very much. The home is well appointed and well maintained. Although a newer home, the design invokes much of the Lakeside charm and is very efficient (large porch, sinks in bedrooms, etc.) The many toys (in the lower level) were especially fun for our 3 and 5 year old boys! We hope to return! Thank you!

Perfect

Our stay was great. The home was tastefully decorated and very homey. Everything was at our fingertips to use for cooking. It did not feel like someone else’s home. The combined spaces worked really well, yet there was privacy for anyone that needed it. I couldn’t have been more pleased with our 10 days stay. And the location of Lakeside… what can I say ? It was great!

Nice quite neighborhood.

Nice sized house with good sized common areas; the detached cabin is exceptionally a nice bonus. Owner is very quick to respond to questions electronically and nice about it too. We would stay again.

Lovely house in Lakeside

We had a lovely weekend in this home with 6 adults and 3 kids. Property as described with a well appointed kitchen and enough space for all. Small playground nearby, and large playground, mini golf, sports courts, and lake shore a nice walk away. Not much open in April, but house had enough to keep us happy. Would stay again!
