Birdsong Cottage is set back behind the 114 W. West St main house and accessed through a side garden gate and path.

The cottage is ideally situated in the heart of historic Southport - a short walking distance to all of the quaint antique stores, chic boutiques, and laid-back riverfront seafood restaurants and bars.

The Oak Island Beaches are 10 minutes away. Bald Head Island and the beaches of Pleasure Island: Carolina Beach, Kure Beach and Fort Fisher are just a 20 minute ferry ride from Southport. The ferry is 6 minutes from the cottage.

Beautifully maintained cottage in an unbeatable location close to town. It has all the comforts of home, and the hostess, Kelly, is incredibly welcoming and accommodating. We’ve stayed here twice already and definitely plan to return.

A great location to walk to most places in town. It was a lovely cottage in the back of the owner’s property with lots of privacy. I felt at home and she left a lovely welcome gift in the frig with wine and cheese snack from a local shop. I will definitely be back.

The cottage was charming. Tucked behind the main house, on a wooded lot. The cottage decor was very nice. The home was within walking distance of restaurants, boutiques and shops. The Hosts were amazing. We found a lovely welcome basket with a charcuterie board from the local cheese shop and delicious bottle of wine. The bed was comfortable and the cottage was supplied with anything you need.

This was our second lovely stay at the cottage. Kelly is a great hostess and we felt welcome from the moment we arrived! The cottage is clean and cozy- the location is in walking (and biking) distance to all the places we love in Southport. We also enjoyed sitting in the garden area and listening to music from a nearby venue. All in all the perfect way to experience Southport!

Outstanding !! So clean and convienent! It was so “homey” and the gift basket of wine and cheese from the Southport cheese shop was so sweet. Just a block from downtown Southport-we could and did walk everywhere. We will definitely be staying here again!!! I hope soon.

Perfect location to walk to everything. Such a lovely and comfortable home. The hosts go above and beyond with their welcome and what they provide. A hidden gem of a stay—literally. If you’re looking for a cozy, clean, and charming cottage that is tucked away and secluded, yet located in the heart of Historic Southport, this is the perfect spot. The hosts were wonderful; they greeted us upon arrival and guided us down the brick pathway to the cottage. After that, we were free to explore Southport’s shops, restaurants, and, of course, the port and shoreline. A welcome basket with a bottle of wine and a small charcuterie board provided a thoughtful and inviting touch. The cottage was stocked with plenty of plush towels, as well as beach blankets and towels. Having a clothes washer and dryer in the cottage was a bonus for us, along with a designated parking spot. Check-out was easy and seamless.
