We had a wonderful time here. The home can easily accommodate adults and children alike and is short drive to Silver Beach, Wako Beach, and Warren Dunes. The host was very responsive as well throughout the process. Highly recommend.
My husband and I spent the Fourth of July weekend here with our 6 kids and grandkids. What a great home plenty of space. We were so close Weko Beach. We caught a couple sunsets and got there early in the days to swim. Just a great trip all around!!

Hi Terri, I just got a chance to look at the photos! I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. Thanks for sharing!
Simple, easy and excellent communication with the host, plus a perfect place to stay. We have stayed here before and exactly why we decided to book again.
I stayed at this place with a large group and it had all the space we needed. Host was very easy to communicate with. Shops & beach are in very close distance. I would stay again in the future.
The cabin was nice and located next to a lot of activities & groceries. There were a couple issues with appliances/tv access, but we were informed ahead of time & were able to adjust.
This VRBO definitely provided the opportunity for our family to spend quality time together especially since it was so close to Lake Michigan. The large front yard was a great place to play lawn games. The kitchen was well-stocked and easy to prepare meals and clean up. Sleeping and showering was a bit of a challenge: 1) for those sleeping in the open loft area and not being able to close out the light and noise from the main floor, 2) only having two full bathrooms for so many folks, esp. for the 9 kids sleeping in the basement and no bathroom on that level. Overall, we made do and it worked okay.

Uncomfortable Stay
Small cabin with too many beds for the space. The basement and loft are loud, and no one slept well there. The place was only somewhat clean, the grill was too dirty to use, and the kitchen items were worn out. It’s about a 10-minute walk to Grande Mere Park, but another half hour to the rocky beach, which was full of biting horse flies. TVs are small, mounted high, and uncomfortable to watch. Overall, an uncomfortable week. For what’s charged, this place falls far short.

Hi Simon,
I'm sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay. I'm very surprised as we usually get 5-star reviews with guests stating how much they loved the property. I realize that with a group of 15 or more it can be a bit loud, especially with the open concept kitchen and living room. I do have to note that the house is over 2200 sq ft, which I do not consider small. The TV above the fireplace is quite large, but the other TVs are a bit smaller. We just purchased a new set of pots and pans last December, and as far as I know the other kitchen items are fine. The grill gets cleaned after every guest, so I'm not sure why it would be so dirty. We will be there in a week, so I will personally take a look at your concerns. I did read on Facebook that there were a lot of flies at Tiscornia Beach, so they moved to another beach and were fine.
A group of friends who grew up together (all 40 now) try to do a long weekend reunion once a year. It was my duty to pick a spot this time. I live just outside Chicago, so I of course forced everyone to come somewhere nearby. I needed up to 12 beds, ample space, some level of seclusion (we can be loud), fairly close proximity to the lake/activities and reasonable travel options. I can't imagine there's a better option, especially for the price point.

The outside of the house was terribly neglected, the majority of the lamps on the steps leading up to the house weren’t working, the steps were overgrown with weeds, the porch and tables on the porch were covered with dirt and dust (and though Rebecca said she’d send someone to clean they never came). The “playhouse” was overgrown with weeds, filled with spiderwebs and dilapidated and unsafe, the backyard was dry and unattractive with loose sticks and branches and an unattractive chain link fence. The kitchen was inadequately stocked, the oven was old and there was no garbage disposal and not enough towels. The sleeping arrangements were adequate but the loft was too open and there was no bathroom in the basement. Overall the place has potential but has been severely neglected. The website is very misleading.

Hi Alicia, I apologize for the condition of the front porch. The cleaners are supposed to sweep and wipe the tables and chairs off. My cleaner said she would be by Friday night to take care of it and I'm very disappointed that she never showed up. She is no longer with us, as we have someone new maintaining the property. The deck has been power washed as well. However, I strongly disagree with you that the house has been poorly maintained. As you can see most of our reviews receive a 5-star. First of all, you did not give your mother proper instructions on how to get in. She arrived first and didn't have a clue as to where to enter. Fortunately, one of our cleaners from another house was there dropping off new outdoor mats and was able to help her. That's when she complained about the porch. The house is in a wooded area. There are multiple trees in the backyard that prevent sunlight for grass to grow, but there's plenty of grass on the right and left side of the house as well as the front of the house for kids to play. The unattractive chain link fence is for guests who like to bring their dog. The oven is not old, and we have plenty of kitchen towels, and the kitchen is fully stocked, so we have no idea what you're referring to. The playhouse was on the property when we bought it and we don't advertise it on the website, but we are going to have it removed and install new lights along the steps leading to the front door. Most basements do not have a bathroom. There's a half bath at the top of the stairs that is very easy to get to. I highly encourage future guests to read, what I believe to be more accurate reviews of the property, as many exist. Most guests love the property. I believe your strident criticism excessive and frankly unfair.
Very nice home, that can hold a large family or a group of friends. There was a bed for everyone in our group. Kitchen is equipped with everything, very clean, and all the beds were super comfortable.
Property outside needs work. It was raining when we arrived and the entire driveway was under water and completely muddy. Very thankful for the garage, to help unload our stuff.
Toilets kept getting stopped up and had to be tended too. This was the first home I was ever instructed to walk around the house and document any damage before settling in. Many things were found throughout the weekend, but one can not find everything upon arrival. Host should already know what needs to be fixed. I received a very long list of instructions which almost made us feel unwelcome. Many things were found in the house that went against the rules in my email from the host. That our group did not do.
Overall this is a great place and I would recommend it to large groups. Very close to our favorite Weko Beach area. Thank you for welcoming us into your home.

Hi Jamie,
I'm glad your group enjoyed the house and had a great weekend!
I apologize if our list made you feel unwelcome or uncomfortable. We ask guests to take a quick walkthrough the house upon arrival so they can see that there's nothing broken. Our cleaners do a thorough check before cleaning and notify me if there are any damages. Most of our guests are very responsible and respectful of our property. However, we've had guests in the past that have broken beds and other furniture during their stay and denied that it was damaged during their stay. Others have caused damage and did not report it to the guest who booked the reservation. This is why we ask the booking guest to do a walkthrough. We ask guests not to tape things to the walls, as you saw yourself, there are a few tapings on the walls that look like they used a suction cup and glued it to the walls. I was there last month and tried removing it myself but was afraid it would damage the wood. Therefore, we ask that balloons for special occasions be tied onto the legs of chairs or end tables.
The upstairs toilet is fine, you just have to hold the handle down when flushing.
Unfortunately, we had very heavy rainfall all day and night the day of your arrival which is why the driveway and backyard was muddy.
Again, we're glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you again in the future!
My son got married at the Blue Dress Barn and his fiancé requested that we all stay together . It was a beautiful home and we loved being together ! The hot tub was an added bonus! The kids loved it. We would stay again if back in the area .
This house was perfect for our bachelor girls weekend getaway ! We had a group of 22 and there was plenty of room for us. The house is nice and cozy and perfect location to local spots (everything was within 15 min). Host was also very responsive with questions as we planned.
We had a wonderful time at this property during an extended family vacation. The house is close to beaches and had everything we needed to make some great memories. Thank you so much!
We enjoyed our stay over July 4th. The home was large enough for our large family gathering, had great windows and space. The highlights included: the large basement for the kids, the wrap around porch, large side yard, fire-pit and hot tub. Having Lake Michigan and Meijer nearby were a big plus.
This property was a pleasure to stay at and was exceptionally convenient to host a large group of people. The location and proximity to Lake Michigan is a huge plus. Great spot to host a family reunion or a large get-together.
This was such a beautiful house and property! There is so much to do in the surrounding area. We had beautiful weather, but there was enough to do at the house if it would have been cold. All my friends want to go back!
Property was cozy and spacious, and the neighborhood was all we could have asked for. State park put your front door gave us ample hiking ground, and the nicely decorated interior and exterior made the home the perfect place is celebrate with friends.
Rebecca did a great job of taking care of all 18 of the guests we had. Everything was clean, the beds were great. Would recommend this property to anyone looking to get together with a large group. Plenty of common space and a choice of bed for everyone.
Our family of 20 loved this property for our reunion/vacation! The house and property was very clean on arrival and the kitchen is very well stocked. We grilled a couple meals, and there was nearby pizza take-out for another meal. 2 and 1/2 baths was adequate for our group and everyone had a bed. The outdoor space/backyard was fabulous! We loved the big fire pit and spent every evening around it. Morning coffee on the huge porch..... Card games around the big kitchen table. We spent our days at 2 nearby beaches (10-15" away), a golf course and mini golf. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!
Had a big family get together here. Three nice beaches close by and some nice brew pubs, restaurants, etc. near by. House really does sleep 22, and is pretty well equipped.
Overall a lovely property and enjoyable stay. Large groups with young children should know there are only three bedrooms with closable doors, all other sleeping areas are open. The basement area would benefit from some updates. Beautiful setting and close to lots of activities. Would recommend.
