About this property

A Bend in the River Cabin--Dog Friendly and Next to the River!

A Bend in the River Cabin(a legal, licensed nightly rental with a current Okanogan County health permit as required by law)sits in a peaceful, private setting, above the river, overlooking the undeveloped hillside. It is shielded by a glade of cottonwood trees. There are 2 bedrooms & one full bath. A screened porch provides a relaxing place to view the natural surroundings. It feels like you are in the wilds of Alaska when at the cabin, and there is abundant wildlife at the watering hole.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook a feast. The natural fiber, high quality bed & bath linens have been chosen to assure your comfort. It is decorated with 'found object' collectibles, artwork & handsome furnishings to create a warm & inviting interior. A new comfortable, high quality leather sofa has been added to the cabin for your sitting pleasure!
This cabin is located near two snowmobile parks and the Rendezvous cross-country ski trails, which also make for perfect hiking and mountain biking in the summer. A great lodging destination for outdoor enthusiasts!

There is a Smart TV with most apps available to those with accounts(Netflix, Hulu, Youtbe, HBO, Amazon Prime)

For skiers, a ski waxing table is available!

Please note the BBQ is usually stored in winter, between Nov 1, and April 1.. Also, a third pet will be considered, with an additional pet fee

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT YEAR ROUND TRAVEL INFORMATION--READ BEFORE BOOKING A RESERVATION:
1)It is the responsibility of the guest to have travel plans in place to travel either over the North Cascades via Highway 20 OR to travel over Steven's Pass through Leavenworth OR to travel I-90 over Snoqualmie to Blewett Pass through Wenatchee and then up the Columbia river to the Methow Valley. If one route is closed, it is the YOUR responsibility to make alternate plans for travel. NO REFUNDS will be given at any time of the year simply because an alternate route must be taken and add additional travel time. Highway 20 is closed in the winter and mountain passes can be closed anytime of the year because of wildfires, rockslides or other occurrences. Directions over all the routes will be sent to. you 3 days before your arrival. Make sure to check pass reports(and they can change while you are en route) and print out the directions before you leave.

2)Trail Access/Closure Information:
If you are coming to hike, bike, or ski on a trail or system of trails which happen to be closed before or during your stay, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN because of this. Trail closures can occur anytime because of fire, rockslides, mud flows...and we have no control over this. There are many hiking, biking trails of various kinds in the Methow Valley. If access to the North Cascades is closed via Hwy 20 because of any reason, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN because of this. There beautiful hikes in and around our valley that we would be happy to recommend.
INTERNET POLICY..PLEASE NOTE:
**We strive to provide the best internet service we can get here in the very rural Methow Valley. Internet speeds vary throughout the valley and outages or tech issues can occur that we have no control over, and for these reasons NO REFUNDS are given if the internet is problematic. We also do not guarantee that the internet will meet your work/school needs. Should you have an issue with internet service, please send us a message through VRBO describing the problem. We will then contact you to troubleshoot. If the issue is not resolved, we will then contact the internet provider, and/or homeowner. Please note... our valley is very rural and getting service personnel to fix things in a timely manner can be a challenge. We rent lodging, not office space.

Public internet is available at the Winthrop library with enhanced internet speed (parking lot or inside the library). Alternatively, for a fee you can go to the Dropzone in downtown Winthrop. Thank you for your understanding!

IMPORTANT WINTER INFORMATION :
**Should you travel to the Methow during the winter months it is important to understand that you must be prepared for winter driving(keep chains, shovel...in the car) and all the inconveniences it causes you and the community you are visiting. The weather can be extreme with large snowfalls, unexpected technical issues, frozen pipes, impassable roads/driveways). If it snows while here you will have to wait for plow service just like every other person in the valley. There are a limited number of plow companies and Methow Reservations nor the owners of the house are in control of the plow company schedules. They have many different contracts and many miles of roads, driveways...to plow. If a plow person or a snow shoveler shows up to clear any area around the house, please do not argue with them or turn them away. Move your vehicles if asked. Your cooperation and patience are required especially after any significant snow accumulation. Should you get stuck you can call Classic Towing in Twisp, WA

**Propane Fireplace--should there be tech issues or the propane fireplace upon your arrival please send a message through Airbnb. Methow Reservations and the owner will try to troubleshoot and remedy the problem. If the problem requires a part or there is an issue with the propane company that may take longer that your stay, NO REFUNDS will be given.

Wonderfully quaint cabin on the Chewash
This is by far the most well-equipped rental that I have ever stayed in, and the items were well laid out. This is a beautiful property and very secluded. I didn’t see a person all week unless I went to town. The 4/5 on check-in should probably be a 4.5/5, I missed the note on using instructions sent so I was using GPS. But the support team was onsite in ten minutes after being engaged and they were super helpful and very friendly. I only have three very small notes: because I’m a project manager with an engineering brain. The fan in the master clicks, so probably just needs some screws tightened. The batteries in the TV remote died so some spare AA and AAA batteries would have been great. A heads up about the mosquitoes or maybe even spray/lotion/roll-on would have been nice. Like I say, small things so I highly recommend this place.

Riedels at the Bend Part 2
We enjoyed our second ski season visit to the Bend in the River Cabin as much as the first trip. We appreciate the privacy and edge of the river setting. As avid skiers we also like the proximity to many trailheads.

River Bend Cabin
This is a beautiful, quiet place with wildlife and solitude. And it is well-located with respect to a variety of recreational opportunities. Would love to go back.

Beautiful cabin just outside Winthrope
We (4 adults and 2 dogs) spent 4 nights in this beautiful and well furnished cabin. Everything was spotless and even better than described. We made good use of the screened in porch and the deck to relax from our daily hikes in the mountains. We loved the decor and enjoyed reading the book detailing the history of the Methow valley. Spectacular old photos! Thanks for sharing your cabin with us,
