The Valley Wine Cottage -- Walk to tasting rooms and cute downtown Newberg
A cozy cottage in the heart of The Willamette Valley. Walk to restaurants and tasting rooms and then relax on your own front porch or barbecue on your private back deck. The cottage has two bedrooms, both with Christopher Knight (tm) aloe vera infused queen-sized beds for a great night's sleep. The fully outfitted kitchen is ready to make an entire Thanksgiving dinner, and the clawfoot tub in the bathroom comes complete with bath products to pamper yourself.
Although we’re walkable to many attractions, our street is tranquil and you'll enjoy sitting in a porch rocker with a glass of wine (in our varietal-correct Riedel glasses), or relaxing in the backyard hammock or lounging furniture. (You may rent it as a one-bedroom or a two-bedroom and pricing is commensurate and based on the number of guests and the number of bedrooms used). If renting as a one-bedroom the second room will remain vacant and locked during your stay).
About The Valley Wine Cottage

We want you to feel like you're in your own little wine country cottage, so we will not be present during your stay, but are just a phone call or text away or can be there in 5 minutes if you need us. We have a very comprehensive guest book full of recommendations and locals "hacks" that we will email you in advance to plan your trip.
Other Info:
We are also the owners of Valley Wine Merchants, the most comprehensive wine shop in the Willamette Valley, which is just 6 blocks away from the cottage. Great location for walking around town and getting out to the wineries. Michelle was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions that we had.
A great place to stay.
Beautiful, comfortable and well-appointed property. We loved our stay and wish we could have spent more time here. The communication was excellent and we would love to come back.
This cottage is immaculately cared for. The beds were very comfortable. There are great food trucks and a Stoller tasting room with food that are walking distance from the home. We visited Andrew's Valley Wine Merchants store twice and he helped us pick out some good wines and provided recommendations for wineries to visit. It was a great couple of days!
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here!!! Very clean and I’m sure anything you might have forgotten I’m sure is stocked somewhere in the cottage! Nice outdoor sitting area, a cute little breakfast nook for board games or eating, close to dining, stores and not a far drive to wineries! The cottage was perfect for us!
We were very pleased with the cottage and our stay. Michelle was very communicative throughout the process and the cottage was well-stocked with commonly needed items (we appreciated the stain remover on this trip, not something you'd find at every property!). The main stretch of Newberg is very walkable from this property and we enjoyed its proximity to many of the local wineries/vineyards during this trip.
House was spotless and had everything you could need including robes and house shoes! Very close to restaurants wineries and vineyards. The host left thorough instructions for everything you could think of.
Lovely cottage as advertised and pictures were accurate which isn’t always the case. They did think of everything and more. Sitting on back deck very relaxing. Convenient location.
Hopefully will return again.
The owners have thought of everything! They renovated this charming house keeping original character but adding modern touches such as the old-looking clock that is actually a Bluetooth speaker! We received excellent recommendations on wine and places to dine. Highly recommend for anyone looking to spend some time in wine country. Easy access to the coast and other must see sights in Oregon.
Beautifully renovated 1920s cottage in wine country
We enjoyed our stay in this beautifully renovated and furnished cottage. As an avid cook, I especially appreciated the abundant supply of herbs and spices, seasonings, coffee and coffee equipment, and particularly the recommendation to shop for fish at a wonderful local fish market. The updated 1920s stove was great fun to cook on. Michelle and Andrew seem to have anticipated every need.
This is a lovely home in Newburg with all the amenities, an easy walk to great food and wine. Clean, well appointed, and very comfortable and convenient.
We loved staying here.
It’s the little things…. So many things provided to make our stay more comfortable such as coffee, sugar and cream, toiletries, even umbrellas. Newberg is very walkable, and we enjoyed a morning walk into town for breakfast each day. Michelle provided a great guide for the area, along with clear instructions on how to use everything in the house. Andrew helped steer us to wineries based on our criteria and also helped us ship some wine home.
The reservation process was simple including check in and departure. Owners were very responsive to questions we had during the stay. If you go early in the week be aware that many restaurants are closed Monday and Tuesday. We enjoyed wonderful meals at the Newbergundian Bistro (great halibut caught the same day and filleted one hour before I ate it) and Earth and Sea in Carlton where the scallops and ahi tuna were amazing.
While the house has been fully renovated and updated, it still retains its period charm with a claw foot tub and beautiful kitchen with copper ceiling tiles and unique stove. It was spotless, and street parking was always available right in front of the house.
All in all a great getaway spot!
Excellent home base for a couple of days wine tasting. Very well appointed and comfortable beds! Michelle is easy and awesome to work with. We would absolutely recommend this spot. Loved it!!
We planned a quick stop in Oregon wine country on our way home to LA from Seattle. After seeing this charming cottage, I wished we were staying longer to enjoy all it had to offer! This is a home that showcases a loving restoration but with safety updates and added touches of elegance and comfort. Michelle & Andrew: We really appreciated the attention to pandemic safety and your anticipation of any possible need we might have had. It really was incredible! As a former history teacher, I loved the historical notes of the area, the home and its contents. I’m sure our paths will cross again! Thank you!
We had a lovely weekend exploring the Willamette Valley using the Valley Wine Cottage as home base. Wonderful restaurants and tasting rooms in walking distance. Accommodations were well-appointed and communication from Michelle was great.
Beautiful bungalow in a great location, comfortable, clean, exceptionally outfitted for anything you may need. Hosts were amazingly gracious and helpful. We loved our stay and would highly recommend staying in this lively cottage.
Home was immaculate and well attended to. The front garden was planted with beautiful flowers and the interior was wonderful with great attention given to providing whatever a guest may want or need. Very comfortable and homey. Michelle is a very friendly and helpful host and responded promptly to txts, questions, etc. I wish we had been able to spend more time here. Highly recommend.
