Beautiful modern waterfront cottage. Built 8 years ago, 2 bedrooms, 1 bath. Large open concept. Perfect deck for lounging and BBQing. Watch the tide roll in and out on private beach. Beach access directly front the front yard and lots of space next door with 8 acres of green space. Beautiful changing landscape with high and low tide. Best of both worlds- close to Charlottetown, yet far enough away for a secluded getaway. 10 minutes from downtown Charlottetown. 5 minutes from large grocery store and amenities. Perfect Island Getaway.

A comfortable, clean location for our three family members with an amazing view. We enjoyed mornings on the deck, watching the birds and listening to the ocean sounds. Exploring the beach during low tide was a thrill, finding crabs, starfish, clams and more. Bring bug spray if you explore near the rose bushes/stairs to the beach, as the mosquitos were vicious.
The stairs didn't go all the way to the beach, but we were able to climb down to explore during low tide.
What a beautiful location! During low tide we explored the beach, and a few hours later it was gone until the next low tide.

The view is worth it

This property is excellent. We used it as a base to explore the Island. However on the days we wanted to stay close to home, it was worth just enjoying the cottage and the views The ships passing in the morning as we enjoyed coffee, walking the beach which has easy asscess or enjoying the sunset at the end of the day, this is the perfect place.

Relax with a View

This was our first time on the island. We liked the location and had daily jaunts exploring PEI. The view was our favorite feature of this home. From low-tide to high-tide, morning through evening, we always found interesting things for viewing pleasure. The Chalet was clean and comfy with a charming decor.

Wonderful week’s stay at this spectacular beach front property! Gorgeous cottage and well stocked with everything you could need for a relaxing vacation. Walking on the beach during low tide (just steps from the back deck) is a must!! Very close to grocery store, Tim’s, gas station, ice cream bar and more with Charlottetown a short drive for some tourist attractions. Hopefully we can return to this great spot! Thanks Greg!!

Beautiful View

We had a great time at the house for our stay in PEI. It was a short drive to the city and all the amenities. When we stayed in the house had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. The view of the ocean was absolutely stunning and we enjoyed watching the cruise ships come in and out of the harbour. We had our dog with us and he had a great time as well exploring the property and nearby paths, parks and beaches. Great stay overall!

walk down the stairs to the water was a bit precarious and should be cleared of weeds. Lighting in bathroom is very poor. Beautiful view.

Perfect place to relax and breathe

The view alone is worth 5 stars, but the cottage and its decor also contributes to an airy and relaxing environment. The kitchen had everything we needed, the bed was comfortable, and there are lamps to read by. No doubt because it's the end of the season, there were some minor fixes to be made (broken shade cord, damaged shelf in fridge, etc.) but overall, this was the absolute best vacation rental we have ever had. Highly recommend.

Red House PEI

The house photos depict the property accurately. The house interior needs some improvements in regard to lighting (poor) and general kitchen gear- can opener that works. The sliding glass door to the view is very difficult to slide open which could be a fire hazard if trying to get out quickly . Having a vacuum or even a stick broom would be helpful in keeping the floors clean while staying there.The house seems geared to families & less so to retirees. The road to the house is rutty & messy after a rain. Location is very convenient to grocery store & Charlottetown. The green space next door was ideal for our pet. We enjoyed walking the shoals at low tide. Having a washer/dryer was great. Greg MacDougall was very responsive if a problem arose.

Why they chose this property

Located in Stratford directly across the bridge from downtown Charlottetown. Country/rural setting & tons of privacy, but yet short 10 minute drive to downtown Charlottetown. The community of Stratford provides amazing beaches, parks, green space, Fox Meadow Golf course along with all of the necessary amenities. Greg grew up in Stratford and loves the flexibility the area provides for a country setting, yet conveniently close to Charlottetown.

What makes this property unique

Travelers will enjoy our piece of the Island mainly for it's proximity to the beach, yet close enough for a cab ride to downtown Charlottetown. The tranquil setting of 41 Cottage Lane will ensure an enjoyable and memorable Island experience. The front lawn is the beach! The tide will roll in and out. On low tide, visitors enjoy walking the beach, digging for clams and adventuring through the small pools of warm water. At high tide, visitors can experience the waves roll in. The property provides 8 acres of green space adjacent to the property. This is to be used by residents of the cottage community. Stairs to the beach are direct from the front yard. The chalet boasts a modern lay out with open kitchen and living room. Two bedrooms and one bath. BBQ is provided, grocery store is a short 5 minute drive.
