"Good Tides" Oceanside beach house with private heated pool & hot tub, Duck, NC

Come explore the private beach, restaurants, and shops in Duck, NC while staying at this spacious, bright retreat we call "Good Tides." You'll find paradise in this wonderful home surrounded by live oak trees for privacy while you sip sweet tea (or margaritas!) from the porch swings. The open and airy living space is perfect for that special family get together. There is also room to spread out, with extra space in the sunroom upstairs and game room downstairs with wet bar and foosball. Three story decks face the east and west to catch ocean breezes, sunrises, and sunsets. A private pool, outside shower, and hot tub are just outside the back door. Your whole family will enjoy this beautiful home.

The beach access is just a short walk along a private road (<5 min with kids and wagon in tow) and we provide a beach caddy and wagon to carry all your beach gear, cooler, and kiddos. Sound access is also close by (<2 min walk), so pack your crab trap, kayak, and windsurfing gear. Bring your bikes and jump on the bike path for a quick ride to the quaint village of Duck, where you’ll find fabulous dining and shopping. Catch a sunset on the Currituck Sound at the waterfront shops while you mingle in and out of the stores.

“Good Tides” has 5 bedrooms, 4 full baths and 2 half baths. The master suite (king bed) is on the top floor with an open floorplan for kitchen, living space, extra half bath, and sunroom. The second floor has two more suites, each with a queen bed, and then a jack-n-jill bath shared by two rooms, one with a queen and one with double bunk beds. The first floor has the game room and wet bar, sleeper sofa, extra fridge/freezer, another half bath, and the washer and dryer. Just move in and hit the beach.

New in 2019: Stainless fridge/freezer for the game room. 14 cup coffee maker and New Kuerig. The largest crock pot we could find & new toaster!
New in 2021:Stainless microwave and stove/oven! New stainless grill and a few new gadgets for the kitchen! New Foosball table for the rec room.
New in 2023: Pool chaise lounge chairs and Adirondack chairs on decks, new 14 cup Coffee maker.
New in 2024: Stainless french door fridge on the top floor kitchen.
New in 2025: Trek decking on the top floor decks, Stainless grill.
New in 2026: Oversized sectional couch on the top floor.
Optional Pool Heat $300/week or $50/day for shorter stays.

We continue to make updates and improvements to the house every year!

We always leave you some paper products to get you started and plenty of laundry detergent, and dishwasher soap.

Private pool and outside shower are available March 27, 2026 to October 31, 2026. Hot tub is available all year round.

The house was extremely clean and the pool towels, beach chairs, and beach equipment were most helpful. Gary was very responsive during the stay and let us check in earlier than we expected. Everyone enjoyed themselves and had a great vacation.

Good Tides was a wonderful home to rent. The sheets, towels, beach equipment were so much appreciated the home and beds comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. We had 11 on this trip and there was plenty of room. The location was quiet, neighbors wonderful and it was about a1/4 mile walk to the beach ( sounds long but it took like 5-10 minutes) and close to shops and restaurants. If and when we go back, Good Tides would be where we would stay.

Great Stay

The location of this house is great for families. Just a short walk to the beach and added plus that all beach chairs, umbrella, toys and wagon were all provided. The house was big enough for our family of 11 and the pool kept the kids occupied for hours. The owner, Gary, was super responsive and helped with a minor issue. Overall we had a great time and would definitely rent again!

Perfect House!

We had a wonderful stay in this house! Great amount of space and was well stocked with items we usually have to supply. Great assortment of beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards with a short walk to the beach. Gary was very quick with responses to questions and concerns. Would definitely stay here again!

Good Tides for a Great Vacation!

We loved the property and all its amenities: close to the beach, great backyard pool, jacuzzi, and more balconies than we even had time to use! All of our kids got their own room and pretty much their own bathrooms too. Quiet, private, clean and Gary and his family were just amazing hosts with impeccable communications. Their check-in process and facilities were perfect. 10 out of 10 - no notes.

Great home and great location

Our family had a wonderful stay at Good Tides. The listing is very accurate - the house is very clean and well stocked with soaps etc - which is very convenient when visiting from far. It’s a short walk to the beach in a quiet neighborhood. The owner was very responsive to our questions. The pool and the hot tub were a highlight! Would definitely recommend.

Great place to stay in Duck

We had a wonderful week in Duck at Good Tides! Property owner Gary was a pleasure to rent from, he was on top of everything and checked in to make sure everything was great for our trip. I would definitely recommend renting this property and would happily rent this property again

Great vacation!

We had a great time at this house. It was perfect and had everything we needed. Recommend renting a golf cart to get to beach and back if you have a lot of stuff to bring there.

Perfect Family Vacation

Gary is super responsive. The property was clean- we have stayed at so many places where we have to clean some areas that aren’t up to our standards and that was not the case here. Great property and a great host. Highly recommend!!

Great host, location and home for a getaway

Overall we had a wonderful stay. Gary is so communicative and helpful to ensure your visit is top notch. Everything in the kitchen you’d need to cook meals, lots of places to hangout and relax. Plenty of beach gear came in handy. Hot tub was clean, too cold for the pool. Only reason for a 4/5 stars is the price was a bit high relative to other places we’ve stayed and it wasn’t as updated, smaller home, less outdoor space for little ones to play, deck run down with some nails up, etc. Would still recommend it for a family trip to Duck!

Wonderful family vacation

It was wonderful to be able to stay with our entire family of 10, ages 4 to 65, in one house, enjoying family dinners and playing in the pool. The house was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We really appreciated all the small conveniences provided by the owner (not always supplied by other owners) such as toilet paper, laundry & dishwasher soap, beach towels, etc. We had no problems while we were there. If we ever get back to the Outer Banks, this is the place we'll stay.

The house was equipped with everything that we needed and the owner was quick to help with a small issue we had. We even forgot a few items and he arranged to have them shipped to us!

OBX enjoyable stay

Found property as advertised. Our group was overall happy with house. Short walk to the beach, quiet area. Internet service could have been better. There was an electrical issue with pool but was addressed. Did not impact our stay. Would consider property on next visit to OBX.

Great property; great owners!

We had a great time at this home. There was plenty of space for everyone. We rented bikes (they were delivered and waiting for us when we got there) and it was a perfect distance ride into Duck for breakfast or dinner. The house is a 5 minute walk to the beach and there is a handy rolling cart to pack everything in. We also spent a good deal of time in the pool and the hot tub. Finally, Gary was responsive, helpful and great to work with. Great vacation, we will be back.

Great review for Good Tides

This was our first trip to OBX and we enjoyed our stay at Good Tides. For the past decade we have vacationed at Ocean City, MD. This property was a blend of the solitude of the mountains, including deer in the back yard, and the serenity of the ocean, a few blocks away. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub along with a very spacious living area. We did rent a golf cart because the walk to the beach was a bit far for some members of our family. Gary, the owner, was very responsive and accommodating. We had a fabulous week.

Family Vacation

Everything was great for our family of 10 adults, enough room to spread out and still be together. The house was well appointed and clean. The only downside was our 85 year old mom couldn’t get safely into the shower. My fault for not checking on that. She did however enjoy the outdoor shower and goes with the flow so all in all 10 out of 10 for us!

We have been looking for a special beach home to share memories with our family and friends and we instantly saw the fun in this house. There are several great spots where the whole group can be together. There are also a handful of spots to sneak away to as well if you want to spread out. We truly enjoy coming to "Good Tides" with our kids and hope you will get as much out of staying here as we do.

What makes this property unique

Brand new in 2018: Hot tub, outdoor grill, stainless steel fridge/freezer and dishwasher, and new bedding (quilts, mattress protectors, pillows, pillow protectors) throughout!
New in 2019: Keurig coffee machine, also 14 cup coffee maker, toaster, crock pot. New toilets throughout.
New in 2021:Stainless microwave and stove/oven! New stainless grill and a few new gadgets for the kitchen! New Foosball table for the rec room.
New in 2023: Pool chaise lounge chairs and Adirondack chairs on decks, new 14 cup Coffee maker.
