Carlsbad Boulevard Adjacent to State Beach

Enjoy the sunsets and unobstructed ocean views in this 1923 California style beach house. The house is located on Carlsbad Boulevard (Coast Highway 101) and has been refurbished by family members who have lived here since 1953. Now it is used as our vacation home available to you when vacant. Main rooms all look onto the Pacific Ocean, where surfers, boaters, dolphin and whales can be seen.
A walkway above the bluff and stairs to the walkway and State Beach below reveal miles of white sandy beach for sunbathing, swimming, bodyboarding, or surfing. Some beach equipment is provided, but a surf rental shop is 3 blocks to the north. Two of the photos here attempt to show the proximity of the house to the beach.

Carlsbad's old village ambiance, Lego-Land, Flower Fields, Outlet stores and nearby malls, Oceanside Harbor with its boat trips, fishing from the pier, golfing at local courses, the Museum of Making Music, are just a few of the many ways to enjoy yourself while staying in Carlsbad.

The driveway can accommodate 2-3 cars. It's a short walk to Carlsbad Village downtown. Or hop on a bus on the corner or the Coaster rail downtown to any place in San Diego County, including Petco Park, the home of the Padres. We provide ideas for local attractions for which the area is so famous. You can even take Amtrak from Oceanside north to Los Angeles. Make this your home away from home.

Nostalgic older beach home

Great little beach house, reminded us of staying at the beach when we were kids, property was clean and perfect location. Everything was walkable to the village.Could use some updating and a few more beach chairs, there were only 3 and there was 4 of us but we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Family beach cottage

The minute we opened the door, we felt at home. Perfect location for beach and village. The cottage has everything you need to cook and for recreation, didn’t even turn on the TV. The view, the fresh air, the sound of the surf, and the beautiful sunsets make for a very special place.

We've stayed at this location for years. As always, the house was spotless. It isn't fancy, but it has everything thing you need. The porch from which you can view the ocean is wonderful. This house has become our home away from home. It's wonderful.

The location was the top factor in our decision to rent this property. We wanted to be close to the ocean and be able to walk to restaurants. We enjoyed, in the month of February, having the front enclosed area to enjoy our early mornings and evenings. The house was very well appointed. As a retired couple there was much we didn't use, mainly the many choices of beach equipment. This would be an excellent choice for a small group with kids. I loved having the picnic table, outdoor shower and clothesline, to name a few of the amenities we used. As the photos show it is an older home but well maintained.

Wonderful location and charming house with a great view!

We love this rental. It was located conveniently right across from the ocean and is within walking distance to some of the restaurants and shops at Carlsbad Village. Everyday we enjoyed our breakfast with the ocean view and every evening we watched the amazing sunset. The house is equipped with everything you will need for a comfortable stay. We played ping pong after the kids went down for the night! The outdoor shower was super convenient to wash the sand off the kids. Location is close to Legoland; only a 10 min drive. The owners are wonderful with responsive communication. I can’t recommend this rental enough.

Conveniently located

The neighboring entertainment was only a short walk away. The beach was across the street, albeit I never went. The unit needs some cleaning as the cushions looked stained, dishes need a thorough cleaning as there is no dishwasher meaning anyone who stays you trust to clean well. Rusted gate sliders need updating before a renter has the unfortunate luck of one breaking. Communication, extra keys, and internet access a plus.
