The view from this home was amazing very close to Henry the eighth’s restaurant which was superb close to beaches our hostess treated us like family became great friends immediately!!! This will be our go to place!!!

On top of the Hill in Beautiful Bermuda

Perfect place for a family or a small group of friends. Location is great, you are on top of the hill with views of the sea around the Island at both sides. Still close enough to some of the most beautiful beaches and coves on the South side. Claudette is the perfect Host, always there when needed - though there was no need for her to get involved much. Highly recommend this place.

More Amour!

We loved staying at Amour. Claudette is an expert on the island and helped us with reservations, plans, and even driving us to the grocery store! She’s a wonderful hostess. The location is great, too. It wd be a long walk to the beach for people not in shape or parents w little kids, but for us w our teenage kids, it was fine. Bermuda is paradise!

Great location!

First of all Claudette is a perfect host. A really nice person. Very helpful and reliable. The location of Amour AirBnB ist just perfect. Located near the best beaches of the island it is a 20 minute walk to Horseshoe Bay or Church Bay. The house is just under Gibbs Hill Lighthouse which is a landmark by itself. The beam of the lightouse doesn´t disturb sleeping and adds to the atmosphere. The appartment is clean and has enough space for seven persons. Wifi is stable and rather fast. I can´t comment on TV since we didn´t use it. All in all it was a great experience.

A terrible experience due to Claudette Baisden's repeated unauthorized entries into the property without notice or permission in order to turn off Air Conditioning rendering the premises approximately 100 degrees and uninhabitable. Amour made "Girls Get-away" a great success

Our very comfortable light and airy two bedroom/two bathroom Amour unit with its generously sized living area/dining area has incredible water views to the south and the north. We enjoyed the breezes coming through our bedrooms as well as in the living area with its (maybe 4) sliding glass doors on the wrap around porch. The owner who lives on-site, Claudette, could not have been more helpful. She helped us arrange our pickup from the airport, carried our bags up the stairs and made sure we were settled in our accommodations. During our stay, she called taxis for us to go to a restaurant, Hamilton, and Horseshoe Bay Beach, and even went the to local early morning fish market to get us delicious local fresh fish. We found the kitchen well equipped for those days we cooked in; we enjoyed eating those meals on the porch. As the living room area was so large and comfortable, our gal-pals foursome (all 70+) spent a lot of time hanging there, enjoying each other's company after missing seeing each other during the Covid lockdown. Note: This review may be attributed to my husband, John. He made the reservation for us. If you go to Bermuda you will find the people there very welcoming and ready to smile!

Authentic Bermuda Experience

My husband and I were in Bermuda for our nephews destination wedding. We selected this home for its central location on the island. The home has a beautiful view and several great restaurants in walking distance. Claudette was a lovely host, she chauffeured me to the grocery store upon arrival, provided bus tickets and a schedule along with any taxi arrangements. She goes above and beyond to make her guests stay comfortable. We will definitely be returning to Bermuda! Thank you Claudette for your genuine heart and sharing your family home.

Perfect from start to finish!

From the booking process to our arrival, and then our entire stay, with Claudette as a host it was like having our own personal concierge. Extremely affable but more importantly very helpful. The accommodation was clean, well stocked with basic commodities, and is a fantastic location being at the highest point of the island. We couldn't have asked for a better property and hostess, and will 100% be going straight here on our next trip (as long as it isn't booked out which I wouldn't be surprised!)

Imagine waking up in a beautiful bedroom with windows overlooking the Atlantic on one side and the harbor on the other. Located in shadow of Gibbs Lighthouse at the highest point on the island. A short ride to Horseshoe Beach, perfect/easy/gorgeous. It’s a public access beach with the services of a private club. The home is well equipped with full laundry. Perhaps the best amenity is your host, a resource that should not go unused. Great recommendations and local knowledge that can make the most of your stay.

Comfortable home for girls getaway

Claudette was a wonderful host - responsive, friendly and helpful! The home was comfortable, spacious and contained useful accessories our group of 5 friends. It was hot during our visit. The bedroom AC was good, but the common areas got a bit warm, especially during the day. We spent most of our visit exploring Bermuda and not lounging at the house. We had a great time and would recommend this rental to others looking for a comfortable, reasonable place to stay!

We had a great time at Amour and can't think of a negative thing to say. Fantastic space for our family and location/views can't be beat. Walked to some wonderful restaurants. The Dining Room at the lighthouse the night we arrived was so convenient. Sunday brunch at Henry VIII a must! Also quick walks to Boundary sports bar by the golf course and the Waterlot Inn (brace yourself for the check - prices are staggering but experience is great). Gulfstream a bit of a hike but doable. Also 20 minute walk to horshoe bay beach (take the shortcut by the hotel entrance!) Claudette could not have been a better host. Great communication and helped with cabs, bus tokens and dinner reservations. Thanks so much for a fabulous stay!

Best time we've ever had on Bermuda

My wife and I have been coming to Bermuda for over 20 years.This visit was definitely our best time ever on the Island. Claudette helped us enjoy our 30th wedding anniversary with our extended family and friends from the day we arrived. Claudette took my wife in her car to the grocery store to get us started . The house is spotless and the water views are amazing on all sides. The Gibbs Hill Lighthouse is amazing at night and the views from the top are awesome All bedrooms have A/C, plenty of towels, beach chairs and supplies. Thanks Claudette for sharing your family home with us we will defintely be coming back soon !

Best way to see the island

Bermuda is a lovely island, filled with a rich history, gorgeous beaches and breathtaking views ... but the best part of our stay was Claudette. She is filled with passion for the island, her home and especially her mother... and it all shines through in her immaculate island home. We stayed for only a few nights, but felt right at home as soon as we arrived. Whether it was advice on what to do, a quick check in to see if we needed anything or just looking after our ride to/from the airport, Claudette had us covered and then some. This home is located next to the Gibbs Hill lighthouse and provides some of the nicest views on the island. Breakfast outside overlooking the water was a favourite. Great location - 5 minute walk to Henry VIII pub (the most fun we had on the island!) and 15-20 minutes to Horseshoe Bay beach, but it doesn't feel anywhere near that long with the amazing view. We did not rent a Twizy or a moped (maybe next time) but found it easy enough to get around otherwise. When you go out wandering around, what is better than looking for a giant lighthouse to find your way back. Without hesitation, we would stay with Claudette again.

Beautiful place, perfectly located, spectacular views

We had an amazing experience in beautiful Bermuda and Claudette's place made things extra special. From the moment we arrived, our taxi service was prompt and courteous. Claudette greeted us at Amour and her place had everything. Very well appointed with plenty of space for our party of five. Claudette had everything ready for our arrival and shared some helpful tips to make our stay carefree. The panoramic views were breathtaking and the central location afforded easy access to much of the island. We were a short walk away from the bus stop and Claudette shared a few extra bus tokens with us to help get us started on our exploration of Bermuda. There are several good restaurants within easy walking distance from her place and she provided us with several good recommendations. This was our first trip to Bermuda and it won't be our last. Claudette made us feel welcome from beginning to end and we look forward to seeing her again soon.

Location, Location, Vacation

Amour is situated on Gibbs Hill, the highest point in Bermuda, with great views of both Great Sound to the North and the Ocean to the south. This affords gentle breezes from either direction. In the evening the sunset is just outside the front door. The location in Southhampton is close to the best beaches and golf in Bermuda. Our family of six, walked to Horseshoe Bay and Church Bay beaches. Walk down the hill to the North to catch the #8 bus or to the south for the #7 bus. The bus system is fantastic and we took it to St Georges, Dockyard, and Hamilton and is the least expensive way to get around. We also walked to Heron Bay Marketplace for breakfast groceries and walked to dinner at restaurants including Boundry, Henry VII, and Gulfstream. The best feature of Amour is the delightful and capable hostess. She can arrange transportation to and from the airport, and knows many of the owners of local businesses. Mentioning we were staying at Amour got us VIP treatment more than once. Amour is a relatively new accommodation option in Bermuda but when the word gets out, availability will be the only thing you need to worry about for your Bermuda vacation.

Great location, great host!

We stayed at Claudettes apartment for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. The location is absolute perfect and the view is amazing. The apartment is also very nice, spacious, with a huge balcony and a nice little garden + terrace. Claudette was a fantastic host and even drove us to nearby beaches when is was not possible to get a taxi. We definitely coming back soon.

Two good sized air-conditioned bedrooms with large closets. Plenty of sitting area, nice large dining table. Great gas grill and outside dining area on back deck. Two full bathrooms. Full sized refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven and oven. FYI there is no dishwasher but all the room and supplies needed to wash dishes by hand are there. Beach chairs and umbrellas to take to the beach. 5-minute walk to bus stop and a 15-20 minute walk or short bus ride to a beautiful south shore beach. And all questions answered by Claudette, who is very helpful and so gracious.

Relaxing stay near the beach

Hilltop views of both ocean and harbor. Ocean breezes kept the home cool and we didn't need to use the AC. Walking distance to beaches and restaurants. Had a great dinner at the Reefs Resort just down the hill and a fun time at the Dockyard. We arrived by sailboat racing from Newport, RI. Claudette was very accommodating of our unpredictable arrival time.

Like many Bermudians of my generation I grew up working in the hospitality business during summer holidays. I was fascinated by the bed and breakfast places I saw in Vermont while I was in university. After over 33 years in Bermuda's public service, first as a police officer and later as a senior manager and prompted by the sudden and unexpected death of my mother earlier this year,I decided to make a reality of my dream of owning a bed and breakfast myself.

Why they chose this property

Amour offers nearly everything a holiday-make could ask for - a safe, spacious, clean environment with spectacular views of the Great Sound and south shore. It has easy access by foot to the Fairmont Southampton resort and to some of Bermuda's best beaches and restaurants.

What makes this property unique

As I teenager, I valued playing in the wooded area opposite the property and walking on the Railway Trail. As an adult, I value easy access to the bus stop and two restaurants, The Dining Room only three minutes away by foot and Henry VIII, six minutes. Because it is located high on a hill there is a real sense of privacy - the neighbours are across the street.
