Family friendly home near beach with wonderful deck!

You can walk to the beach from this attractive home that comfortably sleeps 7. Enjoy cocktails and outdoor dining on the second floor wrap around deck. The second floor great room makes entertaining fun and relaxing. The kitchen, fully equipped with plates, cookware, silverware, glasses, etc, is open to the dining area and living area. The sunny master bedroom, furnished with a queen luxury mattress, is on the second floor and also has access to the deck.
The first floor has 3 bedrooms, two with twin beds and one with a double bed, and a large common area where family members and guests can play and relax. There is a full bath on each floor.
The house interior was painted in 2020 and has newer linens, rugs, and other amenities (all from 2020).
The property has a large lawn where children can play.
You are 10 minutes to golf and miniature golf, and to the grocery store. The beach is a 6 minute walk, around the corner.
Shelter Island has a wonderful nature preserve minutes from the house as well.

Family Vacation

This property was perfect for our family vacation. Attending were three generations and three families. There was lots of space for everyone to enjoy themselves plus a short walk to the water. A very quiet neighborhood that worked well for us.

Outstanding Venue!

Was in town from my son's wedding and this venue was a perfect location away from the wedding venue and festivities. Very comfortable and loved the outside deck. AC works extremely well.

Wonderful second stay!

We completed our second stay at this lovely, cozy house—with all the comforts of home—in August. It's a wonderful house in a great location for walking to the beach or biking to nearby mini golf and restaurants on Shelter Island. The grill and cabinet packed with board games, shelves packed with books, and full menu of streaming services makes a quiet night in as enjoyable as an evening out.

Third time's the charm.We just finished our third visit, and there's a reason we keep coming back to this property. The house is lovely and cozy, with all the conveniences of home, and on a quiet, wooded street that feels very private. The owners go out of their way to provide everything a family needs to be comfortable and enjoy their stay, rain or shine!The house is not on the water but conveniently located nonetheless. The closest beach is an easy, 10-minute walk away. Other beaches, mini golf, Mashomack Preserve, and lots of terrific restaurants can be easily reached by bicycle or car. We love Shelter Island, and feel like this house is our second home there.

Peaceful Retreat

PERFECTION!

We had an amazing vacation at Paula and Johns cozy warm wonderful home on Shelter Island. We walked to one of our favorite beaches almost every day and enjoyed delicious dinners we cooked in the well stocked and cheerful kitchen and we grilled outside on the grill and were so fortunate to have the best weather! It was very hard to leave. We kayaked and paddle boarded and all in all one of our favorite vacations in a while! Thank you for sharing your home with us we cant wait to go back!

Rustic Bliss

We adored this lovely, cozy home with all of its many comforts and conveniences. The kitchen had everything we needed, including unexpected delights like egg cups and a cast iron pan for pancake-making. The grill provided a perfect set of flames for s'more making on the deck, under the beautiful starry skies of Shelter Island. A very nice beach is just a short walk away, and you'll find everything you need, from beach chairs, towels, and blankets, to a wagon to cart them in. We come to Shelter Island several times a year, and this house has become our home there.

Underwhelmed....

We love Shelter Island, and the size of the house and layout is lovely - but we found it a little dirty and unloved. We entered to dead plants and mold in the coffee maker. The coffee table was covered with ceramic tiles that were loose laid to protect it - but fall off when you use it. The owners are responsive - but for the price, we expected a cleaner and nicer finishes.

Family vacation on Shelter Island

This was our first time vacationing on Shelter Island and we loved it! The house was perfect for our family. We had 4 adults and 2 children, 6 and 3.5 year old. The house was very cozy and comfortable and has a great open concept on the 2nd floor for hanging out, cooking, and eating. Also there is a huge wrap around deck off the 2nd floor with a BBQ and a table, which was perfect for having dinner outside. The hosts, Paula and John, were great and very responsive during the booking process and our stay. They also have a caretaker who is close by to help with the check in process and any issues. The location of the house is very convenient and close to the north ferry and a lot of the island's shops and restaurants. There is a cute little beach walking distance to the house and a great quiet beach, Hay Beach, less than a mile away. We would definitely go back again! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Lovely house and hosts

We rented this lovely house the last week in August. We had a wonderful time. The communication was super easy and quick and the place looks exactly like it does on the pictures. The house was clean and had everything we needed, super comfortable. It was great to enjoy all our meals on the deck, such a lovely space. We will definitely consider renting this place again.
