Mountain top cabin in the Whispering Pines community with breathtaking rim views and an architecturally designed, two-tier TREE HOUSE. Enjoy Nature comfortably in this Fully Remodeled Vacation Cabin surrounded by Ponderosa Pines. The numerous Outdoor amenities for the whole family are a great contrast to the indoors, centered on relaxing, lounging, and putting your cares away. While blissfully secluded, Payson is only 10 miles down the road, along with Tonto Natural Bridge, a variety of restaurants, antique shops, and of course, Walmart.

The space:

Before you step out of nature and inside this fully remodeled Cabin, check out the TREE HOUSE: Fully permitted and certified by a Structural Engineer, this Tree house mansion is every kids dream, fully insulated with central air, 2 levels of fun, game table, couch, and triple bunk bed.

Return to the Cabin and the Dark hardwood flooring throughout. Vaulted ceilings. Ground Level features the Kitchen, Family room, 2 Bedrooms, and a Full Bathroom. Downstairs is an Open Gameroom/Playroom, another bedroom and bathroom, storage room with Laundry facilities and an extra Refrigerator/Freezer. Throughout the house Large Viewing Windows bring in the Natural Light. Kitchen: Large kitchen island with a Tiger wood counter top, the surrounding kitchen has Alaskan crystal speckled Granite, farmhouse sink, white shaker style cabinetry, Stainless steel gas stove, French door refrigerator/Freezer, and built-in dishwasher. Upstairs bathroom's Tub/shower is surrounded by custom tile work, Hidden in the downstairs bathroom shower tiles are two arrowheads, see if you spot them! The commercial tank-less water heater provides an endless supply of hot water. All guests could shower in a row without running out. Central A/C and Heat, Wood burning fireplace on the Main floor. Be sure to stop and grab a bundle of firewood on your way up so you can enjoy the fireplace!

Upstairs bedroom 1 has a queen bed (BRAND NEW MATTRESS 12/22), desk, and walk-in closet. Bedroom 2 has a bunk bed with a full mattress on the bottom, twin on top, closet. Downstairs bedroom is the largest with walk-in closet, queen bed (BRAND NEW MATTRESS 12/22), reclining lounge chair and its own entrance to the lower outdoor deck. Game room has a table w/chairs and TV. High Speed Wi-Fi can handle multiple people streaming Netflix. For extra sleepers, the storage room has a full mattress and twin mattress (pull them right into the game room). Lots of extra pillows, blankets, sheets, and sleeping bags available.

Outdoor amenities include: field for sports, fire pit with seating and back deck with two tables and chairs for outdoor eating accommodates large groups, 6 burner gas grill with propane provided, circular driveway fits multiple cars, and it's hard to find a spot on the property without expansive views .

Geode Hunting in almost every direction. Hike down the road to the Verde River for trout fishing and swimming spots, numerous trails and exploring. Water wheel Falls/Ellison Creek Swimming hole is only 2 miles away! Tonto Natural Bridge is less than a 15 mile drive. Woods Canyon Lake and Willow Springs are about 30 miles away.

City of Payson has a noise ordinance starting at 10pm (11pm for unincorporated areas). Loud music, scream laughing, drinking into the late hours are not acceptable. Thank you.

Stress free & relaxing!!

Spent 4 nights and would have loved to have spent 4 weeks. Beautiful views off the back deck, peaceful, stress free way to relax. Cabin was well furnished and very comfortable. Enjoyed seeing elk every day come right up to the cabin and even had a bunch of javelina show up the first night around the fire pit. Would definitely rent again. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin.

We had a nice stay. Would consider renting again. We struggled with the hard beds, a bit. It was very quiet. The view of the rim is terrific. Loved eating breakfast on the deck. The treehouse is very cute and kids would love it.

Upon check in, we immediately noticed the facility had not been properly cleaned. The fridge was dirty and had two dead insects in it; the oven was dirty, the dishes had grease all over them; the sponges smell badly (requiring a 10 mile trip each way to store for cleaning supplies). The message was immediately sent to the host and no response for two days at which time the response was simply sorry for the delay but they were having issue with the VRBO app but the matter would be addressed. The amenities were poor at best. I have stay at many VRBO locations and this by far was the worst. The noisy floors was especially nuisance at night. There is room for improvement.

Awesome views

This was our second time staying there. The kids love the treehouse! Love the open kitchen with the huge island for everyone to gather for meals and hours of games! Sitting on the huge deck with coffee and just admiring the amazing view was a favorite for all.

We stayed with our family and our kids loved the treehouse. It was like their own little house with AC and heat in it. They stayed in there the whole time. Perfect quiet neighborhood and fishing and hiking nearby. Will certainly be staying here in the future

Fantastic views and great place to get away from it all

Views from the porch of the Mogollon rim and surrounding area are stunning. A short walk down the road are hiking trails and the Tonto National forest. Many other hiking trailheads in the area are a short drive away. The nearby East Verde River is very scenic. We enjoyed sitting around the nice fire pit almost every night. Kitchen has all the necessities and more and the propane BBQ grill was great to cook steaks.

Fun family trip!

We had so much fun and made some wonderful memories here! Nicely updated cabin. Kids loved the treehouse, it was plenty warm in the winter. Lots of kitchen and counter space. We enjoyed sitting around the large island to eat and play games. WiFi worked well. Would definitely recommend this place.

9 year old daughter had a blast with the tree house. Great views and relaxing. If the weather had cooperated we could have gone out and dome some hiking and exploring. Would go back, but during a warmer part of the year so we could be outside more.

This is a super cozy cabin in a prime location! We stayed a week and everything was perfect. Secluded without any visible neighbors and the back deck has a beautiful view. Perfect location and more than accommodating. Kitchen is large and we were a large group. The treehouse was a total hit with the kids and has room to sleep so many. We swam at the water wheel...hiked the bridge crossings...caught some trout...went geode hunting on the property and it was super fruitful. We Had a blast. We had a front row seat to the starlink satelite launchs 3 nights in a row. We were visited by Elk and Havelina and a horned beetle or two. We went bug hunting and caught a massive grasshoper.. if you are looking for some nature in your life this is the prime location for relaxtion! We will be back!

Came here for a birthday trip with a group of five was able to communicate with the host prior to coming in order to make sure we had everything we needed. They were very friendly and understanding.Lots of space for larger groups, the way everything I set up is very conversation/family oriented nice area to hang out upstairs very kid friendly. Made for amazing memories and very cozyif there were a few things I were to just notate one the dirt road onto the property could probably take some by surprise. It’s a very easy drive during the dry summers, but it was a little unexpected. Some of the mattresses were very hard but lots of pillows and blankets in storage when needed. very minor details that could be improved for example; You could tell that the floors weren’t cleaned properly and that some items in the home have been left from prior guests but some do come in handy.was very easy to make meals for a group using provided items in the house, very nice that they had pots, pans, toasters, blenders, etc.Very nice view treehouse is definitely perfect for the younger kids. Good little hangout space wasn’t used very much with my specific group but would be amazing for a family trip.No cell service in the area but as soon as Wi-Fi is connected, the Wi-Fi runs greatThe area and overall set up of the home makes for a great peaceful getaway for all ages, nice and secluded, but everything is easily accessible when needed.Thank you for having us!

Disappointing

Our stay started by arriving to an unclean rental with an elderly man still inside cleaning over 1 hour after check in. It was a mess. Pros: location is great, quiet, up the hill, decent views, close to natural water and great hikes. Cons: listing details are inaccurate. Treehouse was a total let down as you could only use the bottom floor which only had a table and triple small bunk. Owners well aware the above floor was not usable because they did not “have time” to repair it after a leak. The listing should have reflected this info or at least it should have been disclosed when requesting the booking so we could have chosen an alternative listing. The home is HOT if you stay in the summer and remain in the upstairs living area, downstairs gets incredibly cool but is also very very loud from the AC so we all had to stay upstairs. Curtains are useless as they don’t fit the windows for any privacy. Bedding smelled horrible and the bedding in the first room upstairs to the right had holes all over it. Not just one small hole, the pillow case was falling apart and the beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. Our fault for assuming new mattresses meant good quality. Our kids ended up sleeping on the couches (which also do not match the listing images). The seating outside had no cushions and the washer smelled of mildew so I’d recommend bringing enough extra clothes So you don’t have to wash, could explain the smell on the bedding. Will not stay again.

Dirty drinking water

Cons: Wi-Fi password incorrect & landline didn’t work Water from faucets was muddy-no drinking water Power is not stable Pros: Wood stove when power went out-luckily we brought our own wood Kids loved the snow and space in the yard Treehouse is fun and unique and heated Cozy layout- nice kitchen I want to give 5 stars because my kids had so much fun in the treehouse and playing in the huge yard with all the snow. The house had a nice kitchen and setup with the wood stove. However when we arrived there was no cell service and the Wi-Fi password posted was incorrect so we had no means of communication since the house phone didn’t work either. And about 20 min after arrival we were handyman showed up to replace the house water filter because the water coming out of the faucet was brown. Luckily he gave us the Wi-Fi password. The water didn’t clear up for another day and we were without clean drinking water with no alternative source of water other than what we had in our own thermoflasks since the roads were snow and ice. The response from the host “it’s possible the water will clear up if you let it run since the filter is new”. If I am paying someone to stay at their cabin I expect to have clean running water not muddy liquid. I am not exaggerating, if I could attach a photo I would. It was gross. Also the host obviously knew of the issue before we arrived and never notified us. Also the power went out and it was lucky we brought our own wood for the wood stove otherwise we would have been freezing with the snow storm going on outside.

We are a very busy family of six who loves to escape it all and enjoy some quiet time in nature. This cabin has been a huge blessing and allowed us time to just relax and be together.

Why they chose this property

We originally bought this property to renovate and then sell, but once we completed the renovations (and two-story tree house), we just couldn't let it go.

What makes this property unique

There are so many wonderfully updated details in our property. The kitchen, bathrooms and living spaces are modern, yet comfortable and inviting. The tree house, completed in 2018, is fun for the entire family, but the kids will absolutely ADORE it and you will adore how much time they spend entertained by it! You will not find another tree house like this. Our absolute favorite thing, though, is the wrap around porch with spectacular, uninterrupted views of the Mogollon Rim! Take a book outside or just sit and watch the woodpeckers fly around. You won't regret it.
