Fall is the perfect time to experience Sugar Loaf, and with the new Summit Trail to the top of the ski hill opening October 9, our cozy condo is the ideal home base for exploring the beauty of northern Michigan. Welcome to our privately owned and personally managed vacation home — your perfect Up North getaway. This 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath townhouse is tucked in the heart of Leelanau County, just minutes from beaches, wineries, golf, and charming small towns like Glen Arbor, Leland, and Suttons Bay.

Beaches: Only 3 miles to Good Harbor Beach — perfect for swimming, rock hunting, or sunsets.

Water Sports: Canoeing, kayaking, and boating on Lake Michigan, Lake Leelanau, and nearby rivers.

Deck: Spacious and furnished with a patio set, Adirondack chairs, and a gas grill.

Fireplace: Natural wood-burning for those cozy evenings.

John was excellent with communication regarding check in, property rules and amenities. The condo was clean with plenty of bedding, towels and extra pull-out cots. Kids loved having the pool right out back with porch and yard easily accessible. Friendly neighbors and beautiful area! Can’t wait to come back and check out the hiking/biking trails developing on Sugarloaf!

This was a great place to stay for a family. The community is quiet but too quiet. The access to the pool was incredible. My only feedback would be to provide more towels, one set per person was a little tight, especially if they needed to be washed. The screen door and grill could also use some love, but wasn't too much of a bother.

Sugarloaf condos in Cedar Mi

Very good location near Traverse City. Property needs a bit of an update - toaster oven does not work, water not drinkable. Great swimming pool available on site. We enjoyed our stay. Diana and Tim Heitman

If you would have reached out during your stay, I would have had a new toaster delivered to the condo. I would like to know more about the water not being drinkable. A new well was dug 4 years ago and it meets all of the water quality standards set by the state of Michigan. We don't have a water softener as there is no place for us to put one since the condo doesn't have a basement. As far as updates, if you could be more specific that would be great. The condo is as advertised.

Great location to see the surrounding sites! Unit was clean. Would like to have had a few more towels and it would be nice to have an extra towel bar in the bathrooms.

Perfect location!

We loved our stay at the Sugarloaf condo. A perfect landing place for our family of 7. Location is ideal within easy driving distance of Sleeping Bear Dunes, Glen Arbor, Good Harbor Beach, Leeland and Traverse City. So much to do and explore in this area! The condo was as described - casual and comfortable. Easy access to the pool and our kids played soccer in the yard. We would definitely stay here again.

Long weekend for family reunion in the area.

Check in and location were great. Would have liked to have a full set of measuring spoons to help with the baking/cooking I wanted to do. Only could find one 1/4 teaspoon. A few small maintenance items are needed to be attended to and I reported them to the owner. He responded quickly.

Quiet location perfect for our family’s trip to Northern Michigan

John communicated with us quickly every time: before, during, and after our stay. The property was clean, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, the bathrooms were fine. The pool was not open, nor did it have water in it. We visited Memorial Day weekend, but it was not open on Memorial Day. There were nice walking paths in the area. You will have to drive at least 10 miles to get to any restaurants. I would definitely stay again.

Great Location

We absolutely loved the location and I think we said it every day. We were able to go to a variety of locations under a 20-30 minute drive, and some places even shorter. The townhouse was very comfortable and had enough space for us and our adult children. It was nice to have the pool practically right outside our door. The one thing I wish the town had was a bigger grocery store near by. We ended up going into Traverse City for that. I would definitely stay here again because of location and the owner was quick to respond when we needed to contact him. If you stay here check out - sleeping bear dunes, good harbor beach, glen arbor, Sutton bay, traverse city and fish town. Fun little areas to spend a few hours and not far from the townhouse. This was definitely a great vacation.

Why they chose this property

We first vacationed in this condo in 2009. We loved it so much that when the previous owner decided to sell, we bought it! My wife Melanie grew up camping in nearby Lake Ann. I grew up in Ohio and had never been north of Midland until we vacationed in Traverse City in 2008. We ended up in Leelanau County on that trip and fell in love with it. Since it is located in the heart of the county, we are 15 minutes from all of the activities we enjoy.
