We have converted a 1920's building into 3 Loft Apartments. As the building is in a very unique Antique Shopping District we call them Artist Lofts so artists can rent them, live in back and open their door and show their work in the Main room. Walk to the Plaza, the park and several restaurants. West Plaza Neighborhood. Unique shopping district at your feet. This unit is a 1 bedroom, with a living room, full bath and a Galley Kitchenette. Newly remodeled and updated. There is one off street parking space and shared laundry room with our long term tenants in the other two apartments. But the Laundry room is accessed from an exterior door. The front door to the unit is off of State Line thru the Jennings Plaza lot. For GPS to take you to correct driveway put in 4505 State Line Road. Parking space is in front of the front porch of Apartment C. Marked with a Red square on the driveway.

This quiet, comfortable space is perfect for short or long stays. The central location makes it easy to get around the metro area, and Julie is a superb host. Highly recommended!
I booked this unit for a month to try to do a reset. Upon check-in, there was a distinct smell of smoke. Also, there was NO MATRESS to sleep on. I spent two hours in the unit and had to leave. A few days later, I received a text accusing me of leaving the unit unlocked while I hadn't been there in some time. The host refused to make things right and actually cancelled my booking and charged me more for seven days than the original month I had booked for. I tried repeatedly to make something work out, but was left unanswered. I would caution anyone considering booking with this host.
Good for the money has a waterbed , make sure the waterbed heater is on as soon as you get there, takes a day or two to heat it up but once its warm, pretty nice.
This is a great location. Safe and quiet! It was just what we needed for our stay. It was exceptionally clean and comfortable. We had no problems and only a simple couple of questions that Julie answered immediately. Amazing host! Traveling with an elderly woman and other than the three steps, which are shown, she had no trouble moving through the rental with her walker. I would highly recommend and it would be my pleasure to stay here again!
I will start with this:
Cons: furniture is bit uncomfortable. The high table has chairs that are a bit short so working here was awkward with the laptop higher than what is ergonomically appropriate. The lounger in the living area gets to be uncomfortable after about 40 minutes, so I had to constantly switch position while trying to enjoy a movie. The bed is ... very uncomfortable! I believe it is due to the mattress being old (or worn). I awakened with a sore and stiff back after fitful slumber each of the 6 nights I was there. Perhaps rotating the mattress would help, if not replacing it ...?? I actually slept on the side away from the night stand. It was bad as well, yet better than the other. Not having a stove or real cook top was a bit of a bummer since I thoroughly enjoy cooking. But I knew this going in and it is easy to make the most of the situation.
Pros: Julie was very friendly, accommodating, and generous enough to provide suggestions for eateries. Check-in and check-out are flexible which is a HUGE plus. The location is PERFECT surrounded by shops, cafes, within close proximity to the Plaza, Westport, Loose Park (where despite rainy weather the entire visit, I was able to get in a good run and park workout for two days), etc. Parking was very convenient right jn front of the apt. The shower was ... MUAH! ... with perfect water pressure!! This is such an underrated convenience and was one of my favorite things about my stay, as were the fluffy towels and washcloths. The complimentary lotion and bodywash were a great touch.
All in all, this is a place I will definitely use again. I was in no way disappointed with the apartment or unhappy with my experience. With better weather the next time, I hope to get out and explore the area more.
Thank you!!
The physical space is quirky (in kitchen, hot water is on the right) but spacious and comfortable. Shower had good water pressure, plenty of hot water. Close to CVS, groceries, restaurants, main roadways, but the neighborhood itself is nice & quiet.
This little apartment was exactly what I needed. Not fussy, comfortable bed and couch. Julie was very quick with communication and provided a notebook of instructions for check-in/out. If I need to stay in KC again, I will look for this apartment.
This apartment was fabulous. Julie is a wonderful VRBO owner. She meets you and greets you with a small box of chocolates (and tells you where to buy more). She shows you all of the amenities of the well-stocked apartment.
The apartment is in a quiet area and we felt very safe walking around the neighborhood checking out some of the cute antique shops.
I would definitely stay here again.
This is the cutest apartment in the cutest neighborhood. There is a nice mix of businesses, rentals, and single family homes in this very walkable neighborhood. It is a safe, quiet area only minutes away from nearly everything KC has to offer. Julie was excellent to work with and quickly communicating any news. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat!
I enjoyed my first VRBO experience. Good communication with property mananger. Loved the neighborhood. Every thing I hoped for.

About the host
Hosted by Julie Jennings
We just completely remodeled this unit and are alternating it between long term and short term status. As we have a variety of sizes of property and needs change. It is available for long term rentals but is rented furnished either way.
Why they chose this property
This space used to be our company office space, when we bought the building. We turned it into an apartment years ago, then converted the rest of the building into apartments about 16 years ago. We have quite a community here and really like our experiences with two of our other units as short term rentals so when this opportunity came up we are giving it a go.
What makes this property unique
Small, close to everything our other units provide. Close to several area hospitals for traveling nurses, family for people that come to town for medical treatments or with family in the hospital. Students at the very close College campuses. Folks coming in for concerts or events. Very close to the Plaza, Westport, Downtown , T-mobile, Chiefs & Royals Stadiums.
