About this property
1 bedroom fully-furnished apartment in Flemington
Bright modern apartment close to Flemington Racecourse, great views over Flemington & Nth Melb, 15 min to CBD. Lots of public transport options : 59 tram - city or Moonee Valley Racecourse (right outside building); Flemington Bridge train to city or Upfield (5 min walk); 57 tram - city or Flemington Racecourse and further on to West Maribyrnong (10 min walk). IGA supermarket on ground fl., shops nearby, excellent restaurants, pubs and cafes in Kensington and Newmarket 15 min walk or 5 min drive.
The building is located in the inner north-western suburb of Flemington (it's actually in Travancore to be technical).
All of the following are easily reached by public transport at the front door: Royal Children's Hospital, Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Women's Hospital, University of Melbourne, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), Melbounrne City Centre, Flemington Racecourse, Moonee Valley Racecourse, Royal Park, Docklands Stadium and the MCG, Royal Melbourne Showgrounds, the Zoo and lots more.
Unlike many of the other bedrooms available in this building on AirBnB, this room has huge windows and great views (you might want to check the other listings if this is important to you). The living areas in the apartment also have large windows facing west and have great views over nearby Debney's Park and the heritage suburb of Flemington.
This is a compact apartment best suited to one or two guests maximum but there is a spare mattress tucked underneath the bed that could be used in the bedroom or in the lounge room if more than 2 people are staying.
The apartment building was designed by renowned Melbourne architects Fender Katsalidis. Every room has air-conditioning and heating, fast broadband wifi is accessible in all rooms of the apartment. The building also features a shared skygarden, a gym, a sauna, and a meeting room that can be booked. There is an IGA supermarket on the ground level which is very well stocked with anything you might need (including alcohol).
There is a spare mattress that could be used if you book an additional third person, this is tucked underneath the bed in the bedroom, either for use in the bedroom or in the lounge room.
You can use the fridge, and the kitchen, which has everything you need if you would like to cook during your stay. Please note, there is an oven and a stove top in the kitchen but there is no microwave oven. There is an electric kettle and a stove-top espresso maker for coffee lovers.
The living area has a large TV with Netflix which everyone is free to use, along with the Hifi system and anything from my collection of vinyl/CDs. I also have a PS3, likewise feel free to use.
The clothes washer is also available if you want to do some clothes washing, and you can use the clothes rack to dry them in your room.
There is a sky garden on the same level as the apartment building which has shared BBQ facilities that can be booked, with a seating area with views to the city skyline. Please note this is not part of my apartment but a common shared area with all other residents in the building. Unfortunately there are rules forbidding the consumption of alcohol in the sky garden area.
You can also use my spare bikes if you feel like exploring the city on two wheels, and there are bike paths leading directly into the building along the Moonee Ponds Creek.
The whole apartment will be yours. The only part of the apartment that is private is the second bedroom (mine) which will be locked during your stay. Otherwise feel free to make yourself completely at home.
