Elegant cottage in historic Summerville- WEEKLY DISCOUNTS
Elegant two-bedroom villa-style cottage is nestled behind a gracious home in historic Summerville directly on the path of South Carolina's Heritage Corridor. The cottage is flooded with light and color, filled with books, artwork, Persian rugs and good vibes. A double set of French doors looks out on a wooded area filled with mature loblollies, camellias, azaleas and dogwoods.
Master bedroom includes large private seating areas; second bedroom has a single bed and a large built-in desk. Both bedrooms have private ingress/egress to the outside. 1.5 baths. The eat-in kitchen is equipped with full-size appliances and a well-stocked spice drawer and an array of devices and implements for the gourmet cook. A large communal area features a round dining table, two sofas, large coffee table and a 50" smart TV with Roku connection.
We recently installed a HALO LED® whole home in-duct air purifier in newly replaced air conditioning system ductwork. The system actively reduces airborne bacteria, viruses, odors, mold and allergens ensuring excellent indoor air quality.
Ample paved parking for vehicles of any sizeand commodious patios in front and back equipped with umbrella table seating and gas grill. You are welcome to the herbs in our garden.
We are within easy walking distance to Summerville's parks, farmers market, restaurants, wine bars, craft beer and coffee houses. Just minutes by car to Middleton Plantation, Drayton Hall and Magnolia Gardens. Easy drive to airport, Charleston and the beach.

About the host
Hosted by Susan Kammeraad-Campbell
I am an author and editor and the publisher of Joggling Board Press, an independent book publishing company dedicated to the creation of award-winning books in the spirit of the South, thus the surfeit of books in the cottage. My husband Lars is a professional captain of luxury sailing yachts and a fine woodworker. We have a quirky basset hound husky blend (a basky) who fancies himself a fine fellow (we do, too). My late husband, a professor of political science, and I spent a year researching the globe to determine the place we wanted to raise our three daughters. Summerville and the historical house, gardens and cottage that would become our home have proved to be everything we hoped it would be. Our children are all grown. Lars and I are now seriously contemplating housing chickens in the backyard.
Why they chose this property
Our home and cottage are located in Summerville's historic district with majestic trees on a nearly two-acre lot within easy walking distance of Azalea Park, downtown's Hutchinson Square and all the delights this town has to offer.
What makes this property unique
The Manse on Main is a stately property built in 1948 by a lumber baron and his wife. The workmanship of the home is a thing to behold, so, too, the gardens, governor's driveway, courtyards and lovely outdoor seating areas. We are in the process of renovating the built-in pool, adding an outdoor kitchen and pool house cabana, which will all be available to guests when completed.
