About this property

Mountain Deer Pass- A rustic mountain retreat on the Peacful Side of the Smokies

Our beautiful cabin sleeps up to 7 people comfortably. There are 2 levels of living. On the main level there is ample open space with a well-equipped kitchen, dining area with table and seating for 6. This also includes a living area with TV and wood burning fireplace. Behind the kitchen is a fully equipped laundry area with washer, dryer and iron. The master suite is also located on the main level and features a king sized bed and full bath. There is a screened in porch just off of the back of the cabin with seating and a charcoal grill for cooking. The upper level features the 2nd bedroom with single bunk over full size bed, 2nd full bath and loft area with the 3rd queen sized bed. The Master and Bunk room both have their own TVs. There is room to park 2-3 vehicles in front of the cabin. The property is tucked away just outside the Wild Laurel Golf Course and is minutes from dining and outdoor adventures in Townsend and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

This cabin was everything that it was described to be. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay, only wish it was longer. We even got to see a bear right outside the door.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Very quiet and peaceful. Nearby Townsend had everything we needed. This area is much less crowded than Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Close to Cades Cove. We would stay here again.

The cabin is beautiful, the furniture and bed is comfortable, and the TVs work. Beyond that, there is a serious lack of hospitality at this cabin. I have never left a negative review before this. The water is so heavily chlorinated that we had to buy drinking water. Showering in it makes my skin uncomfortable for hours. The kitchen is NOT “well-appointed” as described. When I told the host about the lack of kitchen items, he told me that there was a grocery store nearby. There were no paper towels, napkins, Kleenex, foil, Saran wrap, pitchers, or serving bowls. The can opener was so old that it took many tries to get it to work. ALL of the dishes had a greasy scum on them. Old, greasy food was stuck underneath the sink racks. All of the pillows in the entire home are flat and lumpy, as in, old. The sheets are washed in scented detergent- a no-no for any overnight stays. The downstairs showerhead could not be adjusted so that it wouldn’t spray onto the floor. The host offered to check it out, but we decided to use the upstairs bathroom instead. There was no courtesy folder for codes and helpful info about the property, such as where games and books are located-there weren't any of those anyway. There was no guest book that often suggests places to visit. I’m not being unreasonable to expect a 200 per night home to do better. I would not recommend this home unless the host adds some TLC to the property and the housekeeper did a better job.

Really nice cabin

Our biggest regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. We’ve stayed at several cabins throughout the years and this is the best so far. It’s a nice size and we had a great time

This house was clean, beds were comfortable, all appliances and plumbing work, easy to find with the video provided by host, Would definitely stay here again if in the area. Good value. Thanks for providing a great place.
