Note about traveling to Packwood: Please check pass information if you are visiting outside of summer months. Cayuse Pass (HWY123) and Skate Creek Rd. (FR 52) are impassable for many months even though your GPS may tell you otherwise. Cayuse Pass is a beautiful way to arrive from the Seattle area, but it is only open June - Oct. Skate Creek Rd. to and from the Nisqually entrance of Mt. Rainier is scenic as well, but is closed often in winter and even spring months. The most certain way to arrive from the Seattle and Portland areas is to go through Morton and enter on HWY 12. Scenic White Pass Highway (HWY 12) is cleared and kept open all year long. Perfect base camp. The whole family enjoyed the stay with the White Pass ski resort just 30 mins away, especially the hot tub after a long day on the slops. The cabin was well equipped with everything we needed, including wood for evening fires.

Thanks for choosing Mt Rainier Chipmunk Cabin! We hope to host you again.
We had a great stay at the cabin! Quick and easy drive to Mt Rainer, very private, cozy, and the hot tub was great. The host was also able to accommodate an early check in and both our cat and dog.
This cabin is cozy and quiet! We really enjoyed our stay. The owners were very easy to work with and informative. The cabin itself has a well-appointed kitchen with everything you need. Comfy beds. The hot tub is in a perfect location and the fire pit was very relaxing. All in all, a great experience. Definitely book this property if you need to get away!!!
The Vrbo was so nice everything was so clean and beautiful. The hot tub was amazing. They had ac which was great since we stayed when it was 90 degrees
We loved this cabin. The beds were comfy and the kitchen and living space were in great condition. The outside space and hot tub were lovely and the laundry was very helpful for our young family. There were awesome maps (we hiked in Rainier during our stay), and a ton of unexpected extras. 10/10 would stay again.
Well equipped, clean, very comfortable beds and nice linen’s
