CANCELLATION: Cancellation refunds are given in accordance with the VRBO cancellation policy in effect upon booking this property.
INSURANCE RECOMMENDED: Tahoe is a great place to visit, but occasionally can be affected by extreme events. While we never want issues like icy roads, inclement weather, road closures, wildfire smoke, illness, pandemic upticks, etc. to negatively impact our guests, it may happen.
When booking Bear Cub Cabin, optional trip insurance is highly recommended. VRBO offers Cancellation Protection through Global Generali: You may be reimbursed for covered non-refundable trip costs if you have to cancel because of illness, injury, theft of visa or passport, or involuntary loss of employment. We also recommend travelers consider "Cancel For Any Reason" travel insurance (offered by private companies) if you want cancellation refunds anytime for any reason at all.
WINTER DRIVING SAFETY: This home is accessed by a steep 12% grade hill. Guests are advised to carry chains in the winter or have 4WD vehicles with snow tires. Mountain conditions are often icy and dangerous, so plan accordingly with properly-fitted chains and wear safe lug soled shoes to prevent slips and falls.

About the host
Hosted by Zack

Bear Cub Cabin has warmly hosted visitors to the Lake Tahoe area for over four decades.
Why they chose this property
This home is situated on a large private tree-covered lot with friendly neighbors on the hill above Lake Tahoe. It is walking access to the trailhead which connects to Tahoe Rim Trail and the PCT. It also has access to the private LTPA beach park, and close to the ski resorts, numerous hiking trail, beaches and great restaurants. I
What makes this property unique
Our favorite thing about this cabin is the Round glass fireplace in the center of the open Great room, surrounded by comfortable down-filled Restoration Hardware sofas and chairs to optimize interaction, family bonding, and enjoy treetop views. The vaulted ceilings make the room feel open and spacious. The fireplace warms great room in minutes in the winter and it's mesmerizing to watch the flames swirl around.
