A beautiful house! Stayed with 4 adults and 8 kids for our Girl Scout trip. The location was perfect, ample locations for people to sleep, three bathrooms so we never had any frustrations between the 12 of us. It was exactly what we needed for our trip!
This is the perfect house for a large group that wants to be within walking distance of just about anything you'd want to do in downtown Savannah. The house was clean and had the perfect amount of historic charm. My only complaint is how hard it was to use the lockbox every time we left the house and that some rooms had no hangers or places to put clothes. Hosts were very responsive. Would definitely recommend this home!
Amazing location! Within walking distance for all we wanted to do. Comfortable accommodations in historic home.

Liked: Listing accuracy
Disliked: Check-in
House was drafty and therefore cold. House not in updated condition particularly kitchens, windows, bathrooms. Railings weak on parts of stairs and one step broken. Floors uneven, some furniture (antiques) fragile. Parking in garage works well and location walkable. Check in cumbersome with lock and alarm. Very large spaces with some striking lovely features, plenty of room for a large group. Host contacted us about possible water leaks in basement (not accessible to us) but only routine use of appliances on our part.

We believe that the photos of our historic 200 year old home accurately reflect the house with its charm. As is common with a house this old, and the controls of being in a Historic District, we try to balance preserving the old with what to update. The floors and stairs have imperfections, but we are proud of the original floors and stairs from 1822 still being preserved in the house. We believe the house has a lot of space and charm to offer for those wishing to stay in an authentic period home from the 19th century.
Property was as advertised. Robert and Kim were fantastic to deal with and made check in extremely easy. Location of property is perfect and for large groups this place is great. Wonderful furnishings that create the historic feel this house has. Again, if you have a large group this place is a must stay.

Girls' weekend
We absolutely loved our weekend at the house! Spacious and beautifully maintained, this house is in a great location and walking distance from everything you could possibly want to see. It comfortably accommodated our large group and we would recommend it to anyone visiting Savannah!
The owner was very easy to reach and communicate with. The house is beautiful. We had plenty of space for our group and everyone enjoyed themselves. Thank you for letting us stay in your home!

Thanks so much - glad you enjoyed your stay in Historic Savannah.
We had a wonderful time. The house was within walking distance to everything!! Kim was an amazing property manager and so easy to deal with. If we decide to go back to Savannah we would definitely stay here again.
The place was great for a group of 8. We got the other apartment for more beds since we are all adults. Robert was extremely helpful. Great location and cool place. Would book again.

A perfect stay! This one is special.
I booked this property for a girls weekend with several friends, and we all loved this house. The location is perfect for walking to all of the sights, bars and restaurants in historic Savannah. The home is comfortable but also very historic and got us in the mood for enjoying Savannah's rich history. Parking is easy. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. The owner was lovely to deal with.
This weekend was so much fun! The house was amazing and able to fit all of us comfortably and so close to all of the activities we wanted to do! Kim and Robert were so easy to communicate with and have a beautiful home with so much history in it! I couldn’t avast for a better weekend and an even better place to stay!
This was our second stay here after staying here 8 years ago. The communication with Robert and Kim was tremendous. They were great from the time we booked the house through the entire stay. The house is in a great location and we had no problem walking everywhere. The house is quite large and had plenty of room for our guests. It is a 200 year old house which makes it unique and fun. We will definitely look at this one again our next time coming to Savannah!
We had an awesome time at the property! The location of the house is at the prime spot for visiting all of Savanah; shops downtown, the River, Historic district and all the squares! The place is huge, even with the 15 of us in the house! The house has everything you need; it's another home away from home. Robert & Kim were so accommodating to my endless requests and they made our trip stress free that we could thoroughly enjoy Savannah's charm! Thank you so much to make this a memorable trip for my whole family!
The house was great! Everything was wonderful and clean. We had some issues with the lower level AC which the homeowners were aware of after I contacted them. Second level shower was a slow drip but it worked fine for a quick rinse.
It was great to have coffee, soap, shampoo and other commodities available and already there!
Easy walkable distance to everywhere, or a quick Uber.
We booked this amazing house for a weekend to celebrate an upcoming wedding. First let me say that communication with the owners was "top notch", they were super nice. Since Savannah is one of the most haunted cities in Georgia, we decided to do a "Til Death Do Us Party" theme. This house was perfect in every way. It was beautiful and only spooky if you think about the history of the home. It was large enough for our party of 12. It was clean, the beds were comfy and there was plenty of space for everyone to mingle or have alone time. Location wise, it was a short walk to literally everything that we were doing. We enjoyed Savannah Slow Ride, Savannah History and Haunted, The Little Duck Diner, St Neos, Staffords, and Electric Moon. I highly recommend staying here!

Conveniently located home
This home was conveniently located within walking distance of the marketplace, river street, and the tour bus stops. However, parking is extremely difficult during the weekdays. The parking deck across the street from the house was FULL until 5:00 PM weekdays; we drove around for 2.5 hours to find a spot! Street parking, if you can find one, requires you to feed the meter ever 2 hours, very inconvenient. The house is great, but I would not stay here again, mainly due to the parking issues.

Thanks for your feedback. As is the case with many dense, urban environments such as Savannah, parking demands can be high at times. Many people work downtown Savannah during the week. The city of Savannah regulates five parking garages and 3,000+ metered spaces. Outside of the weekday 9-5, and outside of the large festival weekends, most guests easily find parking after 5 and on weekends. One often overlooked feature is the visitor's parking pass from the visitor's center which allows for parking in meters and garages for 48 hours without feeding meters. We try to point out the web resources for parking to each guest so they can be informed ahead of arrival in Historic Savannah. Thanks.
After years of taking the family on vacations this time of year, we have outgrown condos and this is our first time in a VRBO.
The place is huge. More than enough room for the little ones to play and the adults to have personal space to unwind. The dining room fit all 13 of us comfortably. Ease of check in and the response time of the owners was above and beyond what we expected. If there was a drawback, the kitchen was large enough for a couple to prepare dinner, but not to make it a family affair.
We never were able to get a spot out front, but the garage across the street was very affordable. So parking was never an issue, even five minutes from City Market and fifteen from River Street.
Kitchen was fully stocked with any tool we needed. And there were so many towels we never had to wash any (a rarity with a group of our size).
We don't normally return to vacation spots, but we would stay again if we did - and recommend it to others.
Very close and convenient to so many spots in Savannah and plenty of parking nearby to leave your car all weekend! Plenty of space for a big group and awesome to all be in one spot!
Good communication with the hosts, more than enough beds for everyone staying. Location was perfect for everything near by to walk to which is ideal for larger groups.
Our family had a great time, even though 3 members were unable to attend with us. The house is beautiful and in a great location for new visitors to Savanna. We were close enough to the City Market area to walk to food and drink. The parking was right across the street and surprisingly affordable. The only comment we would offer is that the mattresses on the king bed and the queen bed were not good.
Owners were easy to communicate with, flexible with check in and check out and responded timely. The house is in the middle of all the tourist and historic sights. Seven of us flew in, took Uber to the house and needed no other transportation until we flew out four days later! The beds were comfortable, home well stocked for kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. We cooked and had plenty of utensils, spices and serving dishes. We would gladly stay again!!
Beautiful Townhouse walking distance to everything!
It was beautiful and perfect for our large group of people arriving in Savannah for my daughter's wedding!

About the host
Hosted by Robert & Kim Daugherty
We are a professional couple from Atlanta who decided to invest in a historic Savannah home to help in the city's preservation and also enjoy the joy of this wonderful, charming city.
Why they chose this property
Our family fell in love with Savannah when we began to visit the charming city in the early 90s. The transformation of the town from that time to now has been astounding. It is so invigorating to walk the streets and soak in the history and architecture. It truly is a jewel of a city.
What makes this property unique
The 1822 Row House is a large, spacious house so close to all downtown activities. We like to think that it offers a unique mixture of a beautiful, authentically historic house (1822) with tasteful, modern updates (1999 renovation).
