Great Water View! It really does feel like you're on top of the water. The house was clean and ready for us. The beds were the most comfortable beds we've had in a vrbo. Well stocked, and the fire pit at the water was a bonus.
Location was perfect! Home was comfortable and well stocked. My son and I fished everyday and family had a relaxing time! Communication with Beth was excellent with quick responses. She was very accommodating. I would definitely recommend.

Very nice for our two Frenchie's. Big yard. Lots of room to roam. Very nice and quiet. Traffic on the road was very light. not sure if a single vehicle went over 20 MPH. The fishing dock was great. The fishing ... not so much. Did manage to catch some Flounder, Catfish, Croaker, Skates etc. Great Kitchen! Plenty of storage space. Very clean. Would Highly recomend. Thanks Water Winds !!
This is a wonderful place to stay. The house has everything you could ask for. Fishing off the dock was excellent. Very clean with a great view and a good location. The owner is exceptional and is quick to respond to any questions you may have.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay and would consider this in our top 3 vacation rentals: spectacular views, a very walkable neighborhood for us and our dogs, and a nicely appointed home.
The owner was very responsive and friendly as well. What more could you ask for?

Thanks so much for the great review, Richard. Absolutely come back anytime!
This was a wonderful, quiet retreat for us...a comfortable waterfront home in a comfortable neighborhood with an awesome view of the Sound...big skies, nesting birds, and beautiful sunsets.
Great place just as advertised. Hopefully I be back. Needs a new grill but didn’t affect my trip

Lesley thanks so much for choosing to stay at Water Winds. I'm glad you enjoyed your time at the Inner Banks. The stainless steel grill that we placed in service this spring is located under the porch and has a cover over it. Lots of folks grill on the outside fire pit and that is fine but is more for Smores. We used the grill for Veterans Day and it worked just fine. Come back and try it out.
Our stay at WaterWinds was one of our most comfortable and enjoyable rental experiences to date. The home is thoroughly and thoughtfully stocked and exceptionally clean. And the view of the water is fabulous. We look forward to visiting again and want to thank you for sharing this exceptional property.

You all were fantastic guests. We loved the care you took of our home. Come back again anytime!
Could not have been happier with our accommodations. Beth let us know that we would be able to check in early which was so helpful. Views were spectacular, coming from a landlocked state we spent a lot of time outdoors.
House was spotless, would definately recommend this property.

Amazing location. Great place to get away from all the craziness and enjoy some peace and quiet without all the tourist traffic and people. Love the area and the owners are great people. My husband caught a huge catfish off the pier on our last day. Thank you Beth for sharing your amazing home with us

About the host
Hosted by Beth Younger
My husband and I undertook the journey of owning a vacation home a couple of years ago. He is a retired Fire Captain and I am a retired RN. We love horses and the water. Our second careers are teaching horseback riding in the Sandhills of North Carolina. We discovered the Inner Banks after my father bought his vacation home at Albemarle Sound. We would love for you to come and enjoy what we have found here and in the quaint shops and historic areas of Edenton and Hertford.
Why they chose this property
This home has one of the best views of Albemarle Sound at Holiday Island. We purchased it after it had been ravaged by multiple storms and needed a lot of TLC. The headboard in 2 of the bedrooms are salvaged wood from some of the storms. We love to reuse and re-purpose things. The stairs going down to the basement had no banister and no protection from falling right down the stairs. We used old tobacco barn poles and old doors from a torn down depression house to make it safe. We used drift wood for the railing. We have worked very hard so that each thing we have done means something to us, a memory of hard work or good times with family. The dining room table was made by my father in law from wood that came from his farm. Everything has a story.
What makes this property unique
We love looking at the water. We feel tranquil and more at peace. There was a fantastic Thunderstorm last month with a lightening show that went on for an hour that we watched from the great room windows. In Spring and Fall, we have the doors open at night and listen to the waves breaking against the bulkhead or sit out on the dock looking at the stars. Water Winds is a quiet place. The only noise you will hear are the birds and the fish jumping and an occasional boat going by.
