The location is great! It’s an easy drive to all things downtown and it is centrally located. The owners are amazing. Be sure to eat at their Cajun restaurant below, it was mouthwatering good! Parking was easy and Convenient. Our only compliant was the water pressure, but we knew that was a concern before we booked. We loved our stay and we will stay again.
We loved our stay and would definitely stay there again. It was such a cute experience and if you are looking for a city stay this is the place. It’s close to so many places and we didn’t have to travel far.
We had a lovely stay in a beautiful apartment above Sister City Cajun Restaurant. Our host and her sister were so welcoming, parking was easy,, the place was clean, the beds were great. Plenty to do nearby. Hope to stay there again in the future!

This is a spacious apartment with very comfortable beds. It has a great restaurant on the bottom floor. The owner and her sisters are super friendly and very accommodating. Will definitely return!
My wife and I are in LOVE with this property. We will stay here anytime we're in the area. We came to watch the Dodgers v Cardinals three game series and couldn't have picked a better location. 7 minutes $16 Uber to and from beautiful Busch Stadium, the house was perfect. Having a delicious Cajun restaurant and bar nearby was the best!!
We had a great stay! It was super roomy and comfortable. It is on the second floor with two sets of steps that are a tad steep. We read in reviews so it wasn’t a problem for us. Upon entering the building are also 4 concrete steps that are also a tad steep. We felt safe and secure and the location was great!!
My fiancé and I plus two friends enjoyed this VRBO with lots of space. Our only complaint was the water pressure in the showers. Everything else was great.
We stayed here for a weekend. We attended a Cardinals game and an evening at Top Golf. Both venues were a quick and cheap Uber ride away. The host was very friendly and very accommodating. They actually own the Cajun restaurant located on the first floor. I had the ribs and jumbo. Definitely recommend this place. Very open and spacious.
Comfortable Stay with the Slight Convenience of Home
We recently spent a week at this property and overall had a good experience. The apartment was clean, well-maintained, and the beds were comfortable. However, there are a few areas that could be improved to enhance the stay for future guests.
The listing description was mostly accurate, though it should specify that the third queen bed is actually a sofa bed in the living room. This would help set more accurate expectations.
One of the main drawbacks was the water pressure, which was very low in both the kitchen and bathrooms, making bathing and washing dishes quite challenging. Additionally, while the lighting in the bedrooms was adequate during the day, it was insufficient at night, making it difficult to see properly.
The location suited our travel needs perfectly, being just a 10-minute drive from Downtown St. Louis. However, it's worth noting that this property is not within walking distance to downtown, so a car or budget for shared rides is necessary.
The host was very responsive and attentive, providing an excellent experience overall. There were a few amenities-related issues that could be easily fixed. For example, the WiFi was available but not posted anywhere in the house. We had to contact the host to get the information. Large towels were provided, but no face towels, so we had to bring our own for the week. The property had Roku instead of cable, which made it difficult to watch local news for weather and traffic updates.
Despite these issues, the property
The location made our stay unbelievably convenient with easy access to the whole of downtown and excelent, well lit curbside parking.
The appartment itself was roomy and spacious and allowed for our group to get together as a family, without compromising our ability to have privacy. Large comfortable beds left us well rested to enjoy our activities throughout the day, and the spacious multiple bathrooms made getting ready to go out and explore the city a breeze. While the kitchen appeared to be well allocated, the draw of the local dining scene prevented us from making better use of what was at hand.
On the topic of local cuisine, regrettably, our schedule was too busy to allow us to visit the Cajun restaurant situated below the apartment. That said, the restaurant looked fun and vibrant with a variety of customers who all seemed to greatly enjoy this unique and popular locally owned establishment. There is a bit of music that spills over duringbthe evening from the restaurant below, and prepare yourself to be tantilized with the delicious aromas blanketing the neighborhood. I'm getting hungry writing this review.
Pros: Spacious, comfortable, close to local attractions, clean, well appointed, and with gracious hosts who are available via text or call.
Cons: Its a seven hour drive home and we have to get back.

We will be staying here again. We will recommend to anyone visiting St Louis. We will be sure to leave room in our next visit for a trip to Sister Cities Cajun.
Such a great space and super close to downtown. We walked to the antique district and had dinner at the Lemp Mansion. Delicious Cajun food right downstairs. Loved it!
The place was very nice, very spacious, and had a great vibe. The area has a very St Louis feel with nice Cuban restaurant right underneath property. The host was top notch, very easy to communicate with. Would definitely recommend.
Stayed at this location for the Metallica concert weekend in November 2023. They are located above Sister Cities Cajun. Fantastic people! Incidentally, they also have amazing food downstairs in their restaurant. The space was huge for the three of us, comfortable, and it was private. We were never disturbed by the restaurant downstairs and it was quiet and peaceful. They are also very kind, accommodating, and easy to work with. You are close to STL and a quaint neighborhood within walking distance (that we actually walked) with shops and other eatery’s. Water pressure is a bit low if you have a bigger party and internet connection is very low if at all but if you’re staying busy or have plans it’s about the same as staying in a hotel. Will 100% stay again and if I need a place to stay in the area, will rent again.

I was born and raised in St. Louis. My husband is from the deep southern bayous of Louisiana. We own the Cajun restaurant below the vrbo unit. We love hosting visitors from around the world in our unique historic brick fortress.
Why they chose this property
This is the neighborhood of Marine Villa, one of St. Louis's oldest neighborhoods alongside the Mississippi River. Our large outdoor space is a beautiful oasis is the heart of the city. We have the best neighbors all in walking distance, historic antique row on Cherokee street, our very own French quarter known as Soulard, and the gorgeous Benton Park district, all with lovely shops and eateries that you will fall in love with just as we have.
What makes this property unique
Our property was built in the late 1800's by Paul Oehler, one of the last handmade brick makers. He built this property to showcase his fancy bricks as machine made bricks were taking over the industry. The inlay of wood to anchor modern outlets to, and the beautiful wooden beams that run throughout the building are only some of the finer details that make this property unique. Colossal solid wood doors from old St. Louis churches were added along with reclaimed wood from other historic St. Louis properties giving character and antique charm to an elegant space. We hope you enjoy your stay.
