LIGHT HOUSE - THE MOST WESTERLY OCEANFRONT BEACH RENTAL ON THE WEST COAST

The LIGHT HOUSE is located on the most westerly point in the lower 48 states. Any further west and you are all wet! This charming 2 story home located on 2.5 acres of oceanfront property has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, HOT TUB, WIFI, NETFLIX, ROKU, fireplace and sunsets that go on forever. Horse shoes and beach volleyball at your door. Our home is completely furnished with everything you should need down to the coffee and the tea bags. NO PETS ALLOWED DUE TO SEVERE ALERGIES - NO SMOKING HOME
Private easy beach access path and quiet neighbors away from traffic and noise. Watch for the resident whales out front, sea lions, seals and sea birds. Hunt for shells, driftwood and semi precious stones called agates on the beach. Surf fish for perch on the beach some over 12" and go crabbing at the port just minutes away. The big town of Port Orford (1500 people) is about 2 minutes east with grocery, restaurants, shopping, a unique port where the boats are hauled out of the ocean due to the big waves and you can walk around and see just how big they are. Fresh fish, crab off the docks most of the year. Fishing years round in the 7 wild rivers and the ocean. Salmon 50 to 75 lbs are normal and for something smaller lake trout at Garrison Lake next door or many of the 7 rivers. The working CAPE BLANCO light house is open for tours and is the most westerly lighthouse in the country. Be sure to see the HUGHES HOUSE the light keepers home restored and open for tours. There are other museums and historic sites to visit. To the south 25 miles is Gold Beach and the ROGUE RIVER with more fishing, jet boat rides up the Rogue River and really worth the trip. Thirty miles further south is Brooking's with shops, movies and golfing and 30 miles further south are the REDWOODS. You have to see them. To the north 25 miles is BANDON with more great restaurants, shopping in OLD TOWN, and CRANBERRY SWEETS a fantastic candy company and free samples and they ship anywhere. There are many fine shops, and galleries to enjoy. The BANDON DUNES one of the best golf complexes in the country with 5 courses and oceanfront golfing.
Thirty miles north is COOS BAY offering shopping, restaurants, two casinos and movie theaters.
Be sure to enjoy the 100 plus miles of open beaches, fantastic ocean and mountain views and sunsets and wild life. If that is not enough we also have miles of mountains to hike, explore and enjoy.

Family fun at the beach!

Had a great time here with our kids and grandchildren. The house was great! Clean and comfortable. Being right on the beach, the kids had a great time and we enjoyed the sunsets.

Wonderful place

Peaceful and beautiful

Our time at this property was a dream come true. The house was clean and absolutely charming - a perfect beach cottage. Picture windows capture the amazing view from every room. Beach access via a short walk down the bluff (path about 2 minutes) was easy. This is a perfect peaceful retreat and I wish we could have stayed longer. We’ll certainly be back!

Ocean front beach house

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Light House. This was a great Vrbo location. Port Orford is a quiet little town, not a lot of excitement going on, so a beach house where you can make meals and walk on the beach is perfect. We were able to go tide pooling near Cape Blanco, just a few minutes drive north. And we found some cool agates on Agate Beach, just a few minutes drive south. It was pretty windy when we were there, but that’s the Oregon coast most of the time.

Location Location Location

The Light House shines as one of the most perfect locations we have ever had the pleasure to stay. The views and proximity to the beach were a 10 out of 10. We spent hours with coffee in the morning and wine in the evening on the blue bench at the top of hill overlooking the beach expanse. The horse shoe pit was a great bonus! The house was spacious enough for our adult family of 5 + visitors and the big dining table was perfect for our whole group to play games each evening. We had a wonderful vacation.

Better than expected!

Usually the pictures are a little misleading, but our stay at David's was better than expected! The view was amazing, it was a quick walk down to the beach, we saw whales, wild life and it was a great combo of being disconnected and still having what we needed in town. The home was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities that we needed. Check out and check in was smooth. We would definitely stay here again! You can not walk to the lighthouse, but it is a short drive and fun to see.

Amazing View /2nd Stay

This was our 2nd time staying at this location—since my wife loves looking for agates on the beach. Pros AMAZING view of beach from house Quite neighborhood Quite/private area on beach Walk to beach is 3 minutes Great town—there is even a legit gym Hotub worked well Cons: Password issues Heater went out in lower bedroom but the manager offered a room heater which remedied that The Hottub suction filter needs to be checked Toilet seat in master bathroom was still loose from last time—even though on my last review I mentioned it was kinda dangerous Water pressure/heat in kitchen sink was weak and not too hot. Otherwise we will probably be back in the future!

Port Orford Bestie Weekend

The location and view from this house are amazing. Just a short walk down to a beautiful beach with agate hunting. We saw very few people. The hot tub is lovely. The house worked ok for our group of two moms and three young kids after putting up some of the Knick knacks. We had amazing weather and got to enjoy sitting on the deck. Things were pretty clean but I’m picky about that, maybe a deep clean needed in near future. No dishwasher and smaller kitchen with little prep space. Overall we had a nice stay with good communication with host.

Lighthouse

This house was fantastic - a beautiful view of the ocean from every window and you can hear the ocean from each room! The broad, sandy beach was accessible via an easy path. The house felt cozy and isolated, even though there were neighbors on each side. The decor was very nice - modern but definitely not sterile. We used the two bedrooms with queen beds, which were very comfortable. Although we didn't use it, there is a lovely room with four built-in bunks - great for kids. Two highlights: there are several young deer that hang out in the neighborhood and greeted us each day, and at night in the upstairs bedroom you can see a reflection of the light from the Cape Blanco lighthouse. We definitely want to return to stay at this house at some time in the future.

Location. Location. Location.

This could have been a jail cell and I would have given it a 5-star review based on the incredible location perched over Agate Beach. I've never stayed so close to the water before. The beach is perfect for endless walking and agate hunting, especially at low tide. When you consider that there is a hot tub on the deck and a master bedroom with a nearly 180 degree view of the ocean- and where you can hear the waves crashing all night long- it just doesn't get any better than this. There were some minor upkeep issues with the hot tub and CO detectors that didn't get in the way of an amazing time. Can't wait to come back. Of note, there are several video cameras on the property that should have been disclosed by VRBO policy; I discussed with the property manager and he is going to address it. Bottom line, this is one of the best VRBO properties I've ever stayed at, and I truly look forward to the next visit. The pictures on the listing tell the story well.

Beautiful but not for small children

Absolutely stunning location and easy access to the beach. But the house decor is not appropriate for children under 10. Every windowsill and table had 4-6 glass bottles on display with more glass jars full of tiny rocks. The bunk beds are very high and there are no safety rails. Also, there were tons of fruit flies in the house. This house is very nice but too cluttered for a rental.

Needs new mattresses

We had a very pleasant stay, the view and closeness to the beach was awesome. The house was super clean. But when you can’t get proper rest, it causes a problem and takes the joy of the day away. The upstairs mattress is an old memory foam that’s hotter than the sun. The downstairs queen is broke down severely. We left a day early because we desperately needed sleep.
