O de Mer - The Sea and the Countryside in Carteret (Cotentin) - Jacuzzi and sauna - 8 p.
In Carteret, on the west coast of the Cotentin, I welcome you in a stone and wood house, in a quiet environment, with modern decoration and high-end materials. Everything is done for your happiness.
Pleasant house located at the marina, the haven is 50 m, the beach 5 minutes by bike, restaurants and shops 5-10 minutes on foot.
Your paradise.
Relaxation area with Sauna and Jacuzzi are available as an option for 15 euros more per day
experience
Haven of calm and serenity, the Villa Quai des Ormes welcomes you in an exceptional setting. Located on the marina, a few wheels from the beach and 400 m from the shopping street, in the middle of the greenery, the villa is an invitation to travel.
For large families or friends: as an option it is possible to rent additional rooms, each self-contained (entrance + own SDE) and / or a second cottage. Indeed it is a large house divided into 3 gites and two independent bedrooms.
"O de mer" is located on the quay of the marina, bordered by the old levee du havre. Before the construction of the marina, the sea came to lick the house at high tide.
"O de Mer" is a common room, two bedrooms, a large mezzanine and nets of houses. These are very bright rooms. The common room overlooks the south terrace. This terrace overlooks the technical area of the marina: no noise pollution but sometimes the parking of boats on their skates. Beyond this quay is the harbor which fills and empties twice a day, at the rate of the tides.
This panorama of the sea that enters the haven will enchant you. The masts of the marina, the boats anchored in the channel, the sand at low tide, the sea at high tide.
A quick description of the place: a living room with a large picture window and a large window, a wood stove, a sofa and armchairs, a dining area and an open kitchen; a pleasant parental suite for a couple (140 cm bed), with a storage area, a bathroom with bathtub; a bedroom with a double bed (king size bed of 180 cm or 2 beds of 90) and a bed of 90, a BB bed if necessary, a storage area; a bathroom with shower, sink, heated towel rail, toilet. Upstairs a living room and dormitory, with TV corner, two residential nets like catamaran trampolines, a bathroom with shower, sink and toilet.
A functional and equipped kitchen for 8 people will allow you to cook the great products of our Cotentin, land of tradition and Carteret, fishing port specializing in crustaceans.
A wood stove will warm your evenings for a warm country atmosphere. Log bags are payable locally (8 euros per bag). The heating is efficient, with the wood stove supplemented by electric radiators, a towel dryer in the bathroom.
"O de Mer" is also a large 4 * 6 m terrace facing south: early morning sun, meals outside. The terrace is a continuation of the adjoining “Embruns” gite. Armchairs are waiting for you to read or chat.
Access to the garden: It is below, on the ground floor! Most of the garden is shared with the other two gîtes because it is very sunny: it is very pleasant to go read or rest in a deckchair in front of a 4 hectare field where horses often graze.
Bbq available
The decoration is current, the Flemish paintings have a warm rendering, the accessories are discreet for a sober and tasteful atmosphere to spend your holidays. Gone are the days of cheesy vacation rentals, furnished with objects and armchairs that we couldn't get rid of ...
Travelers access
Access is via rue des Ormes. The cars remain outside the site, to respect everyone's well-being. Parking on Rue des Ormes is easy. Parking in the driveway is possible for a few moments for arrivals and departures.
a path has been created: from the alley, go left and cross the garden, using the stone “steps”. Go to the fishing boat anchored along the old dike and take the stairs to climb the dike. You arrive in the port area: "O de Mer" is on the left.
Delivery of keys to travelers
Arrivals and departures are made easier thanks to a clever key delivery system: this avoids the stress of arriving on time when traveling a long distance. As soon as you arrive at Carteret, you can settle in and rest.
Access: 10 rue des ormes. At the harbor master's roundabout, leave with your back to the harbor, take the first right = rue des ormes. After 100 m, walk along the stone wall on the right: at the opening in the wall, without barrier, take the alley. The house is at the bottom with the stone bottom and the wooden floor, three chimneys on the slate roof.

We had a very nice time at this property. Plenty of space, three bathrooms (makes it easier to get ready in the morning), enough place for 8 at the dinner table and good. comfortable beds . I would definitely recommend this property. Just one small detail, the washing machine is shared with other properties (was not an issue for us as we only stayed three days).
