Gorda Vista is located on a mountainside, surrounded by lushly forested jungle, overlooking Dominicalito Beach. At an altitude of 564ft above sea level it receives pleasant cooling breezes from both ocean and mountains.

It has been designed as the ideal vacation property making the most of it’s beautiful location and an outdoor living concept. It is perfect for a couple on a honeymoon, a romantic getaway or a family on an adventure vacation.

It is over 5 acres of completely private and secure paradise. You have the entire property to yourself, only having to share with the wildlife. Howler and white faced monkeys stop by regularly to eat from the surrounding trees. Toucans, hawks, hummingbirds, song birds, doves and butterflies are always nearby. To access our jungle villa there is a grand, electrically operated entrance gate within a 10 ft (3m) high security/privacy fence.

The 45-foot infinity edge lap pool has a wider area adjacent to the house which has a raised table and two tiled sunken chairs for you to relax in while sipping cocktails and watching the sun set into the ocean.

Gorda Vista was built and furnished to the highest specifications. The entire ground floor has been cleverly designed to integrate the pool, deck, rancho, covered terrace, kitchen and lounge into one outdoor living space. It can be easily changed into separate outdoor and indoor spaces by simply closing the large glass doors that are on two sides of the lounge wall.
The master bedroom has a large balcony with 2 deck chairs and a table to enjoy the best sunrise coffee you have ever experienced as you listen to the jungle “wake”. It also has 2 standing only balconies offering mountain and ocean views. It has air conditioning, kingsize bed, a large ensuite bathroom with a sandstone shower for two, his and hers sinks, separate toilet room and a ceiling fan. The second bedroom can be used for children or a couple as it has two single beds that can be placed together to make one kingsize bed. It has air conditioning, ceiling fan, ensuite bathroom and 2 standing only balconies with ocean views. There is also a comfortable twin-size day-bed on the terrace for those afternoon naps.
The location of our property will make your vacation easy. Stores, restaurants and amenities are only a few minutes drive away. The beach is safe for swimming and beginner surfing. There are a great variety of nearby tours, activities and adventures for all ages and levels of excitement. We will be happy to discuss all your options when you arrive.

My wife was stunned by the beauty of looking through the house to the view as we walked through the front door. The house was very well appointed and maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed the property, the privacy, the view and the wildlife. Regular sightings of scarlet macaws and toucans. Howler monkeys in the trees on the edge of the property on a couple of days. We could hear the ocean and the streams that flowed through the property. The pool was wonderful and the bed was very comfortable. A key part of our amazing visit.

Gorgeous property in amazing location

We have stayed at a lot of VRBO houses and I was skeptical that this one would live up to the amazing pictures - but it did and more! This is a beautiful house on an incredible property. Waking up with a view of the ocean, swimming in the private pool - my husband, kids, and I loved every minute of it. We saw monkeys, toucans, an iguana, tons of lizards, and even a sloth. The owner is very communicative and helpful. We would love to come back some day!

Lovely stay in the Costa Rica jungle

My family enjoyed 4 nights in this beautiful VRBO! The owners are warm and responded quickly to any questions or help we may have needed. The grounds and home are beautiful and well kept. Gorgeous views and all of the kind people we met made our stay in Costa Rica such a fantastic experience. We had a great trip and highly recommend this property.

Fantastic stay

We loved staying here it was incredible. The open floor plan and the pool were dreamy. From the pool we watched monkeys and toucans go by and at night after grilling dinner we got back into the pool and saw shooting stars. The house has a fantastic location and is beautiful. The outside area with the pool is fantastic. You are in the middle of the jungle, you can see toucans and other birds and hear the howler monkeys in the trees.

We had a wonderful 3 week stay at Gorda Vista! We swam in the pool, read, ate great food & then did it again! We loved the little town of Dominical & ate at some yummy little restaurants. This was our third trip to Cost Rica & it didn’t disappoint!

What an absolute amazing house. Completely surrounded by jungle but can still see the ocean. Seeing the monkeys flying through trees was so cool. Very well maintained and managed property. We would definitely stay here again.

Luxury Villa

The Villa was as advertised with spectacular views of the jungle and ocean off in the distance. The rooms had A/C and kitchen was very well stocked. Very close to a major supermarket and many towns with excellent restaurants so you have the option of eating at home or going out. Everything was clean and in working order and the infinity pool was great. The property itself is very secure (large fence encloses the living area) and private (neighbors are hundreds of meters away).Going to sleep and waking to the sounds of the jungle was an otherworldly experience. Doug and Janet are very responsive, helpful and laid back. The concierge service offered via Juli was very helpful as well and she helped us plan our activities and stay. It's very well located and there is a ton to do in the area. You do need a 4x4 capable rental in Costa Rica and would suggest tire insurance.Overall, fantastic, smooth experience and would highly recommend to anyone

Wow! We love this villa!

The property is fantastic! Be sure to have a 4x4 to ensure safe travels, better to have a pick-up truck if you can. D and J are very hospitable, responsive, and respectable. The home is very clean and well appointed. The pool is just what you need. My wife and I travelled for our honeymoon and the seclusion of the mountain side is exactly what you need. We enjoyed all the noises of the animals, the stars at night, the sunrises and sunsets. The locality to fantastic food, excursions, and the highway. Please stay here! You won’t regret it.

INCREDIBLE!

What an amazing place! My wife and I stayed there recently and it was beautiful! It was better than we could have hoped for! The location and seclusion are wonderful, the house is gorgeous! The owners Doug and Janet were very attentive and helpful! They really helped us get into the "Pura Vida" lifestyle! Town and multiple beaches are close by, but we usually were only away a couple hours because we just wanted to get back to the house! There are also many excellent places to eat close by. We had Yolanda and Wendy from Jungle Sun Spa come to the house for massages; highly recommended! They are excellent! If you get the chance to stay here, make it happen! We are looking foward to returning!

Yep, this is paradise………………..

Upon waking up this morning following our return from Costa Rica, our first thought was, “We wish we were back at Gorda Vista!” Anyone who doesn’t thoroughly enjoy this VRBO doesn’t understand the meaning of “paradise”. Everything — the property, the surroundings, the house, the swimming pool, the outdoor shower, the kitchen, the hosts, the seclusion, the creatures of the jungle — it’s all perfect. There’s nothing negative we can say; we’d return in a heartbeat. One thing for certain — when you read that a four-wheel SUV is necessary, they’re completely serious. You’d never make it up the mountain in a typical sedan. But it’s just part of the adventure and the charm. Enjoy — we’re sure you’ll love it as we did.

Pure tranquility.

WOW, Gorda Vista is pure tranquility. A jungle villa is a perfect description of this property. The wildlife from butterflies to monkeys and multitudes of birds/owls. Toucans visited daily in the big tree. Mornings are a symphony of birds(being a bird lover I was in heaven) and other jungle sounds that are a true delight to start your day with a great cup of coffee. The villa is located in the jungle overlooking the ocean with stunning sunsets. Pictures can not capture the beauty of this place. My wife and I stayed here and it was the most relaxing vacation we have had in years. The local beaches are perfect and uncrowded. There is so much to do and explore within a few minutes drive. Speaking of the drive, as mentioned in other posts a 4x4 vehicle is a must. The road is fine just steep in places. The villa is perfect for a family or two couples. The only sounds we heard were nature and ourselves. My only regret is we had to leave. The owners are wonderful, very helpful and gave great advise. Don't forget to check out the gardens, lots of treasures down there. Spending days by the pool was so refreshing. Will be back for sure.

A dream

We are a family of four who work too much and spend a lot of vacation time with friends and extended family. This vacation was a long overdue trip with just the four of us, husband wife 10y/o and 6y/o. And it was everything we wanted it to be and more. We did family surfing, poolside massage, catamaran trip ( with snorkeling and a water slide and maybe the best meal of the week!), zip lining, and found out way to visit, swim, climb and even slide down probably 4 or 5 different waterfalls (10y/o even, but the 6y/o self selected out). We enjoyed sunny mornings and then watching the storm clouds roll in during late lunches… cooling everything off. The normal August rain did not stop us from doing much of anything, tho of course must be cautious about bouldering etc when the slippery factor is amped up. We loved the wildlife in CR, but will advise you to keep those screen doors closed to the bedrooms. Insects are part of life. Our last night we had the private chef come and at first I was worried it was just tad too expensive for the kids to appreciate, until they sat with us and ate everything and we had the most relaxing, fun, chill, bonding meal of the week. Worth every penny. Every evening we all got in the pool and played and splashed/outdoor showered, snuggled into their beds with relative ease. Costa Rica is a lovely country. Credit cards are accepted most everywhere but we were glad when we got some colones and figured out the exchange rate. Absolute dream.

Beautiful property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The grounds are kept so nicely with endless wildlife to watch. We loved hanging out in the pool and bird watching. The iguana that seems to reside on the grounds was a joy to see each day! The location was very convenient between Uvita and Dominical.There is some construction of a new home going on nearby so we could hear the workers during the day. Only recommendation would be to let the guests know when gardener/pool people would be coming as it was startling to have unexpected visitors.

Beautiful and well designed house. It had everything you could possibly need. And everything worked - hot water, AC, stove etc. Comfortable king bed. The pool was fantastic and we particularly enjoyed the comfortable day bed and all the pillows located under cover next to the pool. Great place to hang out and watch the birds and enjoy the views when we wanted to be out of the sun. The owner was easy to reach and promptly answered all our questions. This was my 6th trip to CR in 33 years and this place was by far the nicest Ive ever stayed.

The property was absolutely amazing and definitely as advertised! The views are incredible, you're peacefully tucked away about 5 min into the jungle, and share your time with a bevy of wildlife. Julie, the concierge for the property, gave us several recommendations that we were glad we took her up on. A few of the highlights were the ATV jungle/coffee plantation tour, Titi zipline, the private chef, and our resident black iguana we named George. The property manager, Lyle, was very attentive and helpful with any questions or issues we had (which were few). My wife is already talking about when (not if) we come back it'll probably be back here so we can say hello to George again. Our only recommendation is to bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper, because the jungle wakes up at about 5am. Or you can simply get up early with a cup of coffee and sit on the patio while the toucans sing.

Perfect honeymoon spot

We stayed here for a portion of our honeymoon trip and it was so relaxing! The pool was lovely, house was very clean, and host was very quick to communicate and answer any questions. We would absolutely stay here again! If you are wanting a place that feels secluded but is close to town this is the one!

A jungle paradise with all the amenities

We had a wonderful week at this villaThe house is perfect; it has everything you could imagine. The location is unbeatable. You're in the middle of the jungle with all the amenities, but only 5 minutes from any service you might need. It's a perfect place to explore all the wonders this part of Costa Rica has to offer.Waking up every morning to the sound of animals is wonderful. Relaxing with a swim in the infinity pool before having breakfast outdoors and enjoying the sun, in a magical environment where you can see all kinds of birds up close and even hear howler monkeys, is priceless.

Amazing house up the mountain with ocean view

Doug and Janet were great hosts. They were quick to respond with questions. They also met us at a local restaurant and led us up to the house. They also have Juli to be a concierge for your stay. She is amazing by scheduling excursions during your stay and was there when we could t find the location for an excursion by directing us and then calling the company to let them know we would be there. The house is the best of indoor/outdoor living . You can hear toucans and monkeys from the house. La Parcela restaurant was right down the road and we saw monkeys before we walked into the restaurant and even saw one in a tree right outside of the restaurant while eating. Food was delicious too. If you are wavering about booking this house, don’t be. We are already talking about our return trip. Pura vida!
