Large charming and characteristic Victorian home
Check in was easy. Host let us check in early when we asked which was nice. We ended didn’t make it to Temecula early as planned. Our children enjoyed playing the piano and the organ. We also enjoyed the outdoor gazebo and the swings. We had problem with the water heater (didn’t know it’s in a timer and turned off) so some of us took cold shower until I was able to talk to the owner. We couldn’t use the BBQ due to no gas and the outdoor jacuzzi was not available for use. The pictures of the house looked nice and spacious but we found that the house was busy with decorations and non essentials. Even though the price per night seemed low, with additional guest fee we felt that the price of this rental was quite high for what it offered as a vacation home. In short, we didn’t feel it was a vacation home. It’s just someone’s home.

Not Recommended
Perhaps the most awkward thing about this rental is the fact closets were absolutely stuffed full of personal items, clothing etc, as were cabinets, including medicine. It was very discomforting. Plus there was nowhere to hang one's clothing. Pragmatically speaking, know this property is four bedrooms, not five. Putting a bed out on a tiny sitting porch is not a bedroom. The porch was so tiny one could barely navigate about the bed, no dresser, no closet, nothing but the bed and about a foot and half on one side of it to shimmy by. Furthermore, the 'trundle' in the other bedroom involved dragging a twin mattress out of a closet not just conveniently pulling it out from under a bed. In terms of comfort the water heater was previously turned off by the owners who did NOT turn it on unbeknown to us.... so when we went to shower in the morning, there was NO hot water. As such, we were unable to shower for the wedding we were attending. In terms of cleanliness, the dust on the heating and air vents was so thick one couldn't see threw the vent. My mother had difficulty with her asthma this during our stay, and it's no wonder. To add to the problems, the pull out couch was falling apart, torn and in such poor condition, my father slept in a chair. Also expect tattered towels and blankets. On the plus side, the house is in a safe location, and the gardens of the house were very pretty. The pool is decent but is a community pool and three miles away, NOT within walking distance and NOT in the "one mile" as noted by the owner when I asked in an email. Plus when we called for directions, the owner was unfriendly and claimed to have sent the directions to the pool via email, which she did not. There were no directions to the pool provided in the house either, and the pool key was hidden in a random location above the washing/machine and dryer. Ironically the washing machine and dryer are off limits for guest use. Very disappointed overall. I do have photographs of all the problematic areas as well, which I would post if it were an available option.

Southern charm
Jim and Lenora were very accommodating and prompt with responses. This is a beautiful Victorian home set back off the street nestled among trees with plenty of parking and grassy areas. It was a wonderful place to celebrate my mother's 90 birthday, building beautiful memories!

Solid family home, as advertised
The property was exactly as described in words and pictures, and at the time we rented was a competitively priced compared to other similar properties in the area. Features we loved were the sizable lawn for the kids to play on and the wrap-around porch which got a lot of use for relaxing. Sadly, we never made it to the clubhouse pool for swimming, so can't comment on that. Owner was responsive, communicative and respectful.

The house was great for us. It was exactly what we needed for the weekend.
The renting experience was very easy and the homeowners we easy to contact and work with. We had a great time.

About the host

We love our home and want to share it for you nostalgic families that want to "go back in time" just a little bit. Jim and I (Lenora) have been married 44 years. We have 6 children and 28 grandchildren. We are semi-retired professionals who want to spend more time traveling. So, we hope you will enjoy our home when we go.

Why they chose this property

We built our dream home. It is a little piece of heaven from the bustle of the world, yet it is minutes away from it all... Markets, malls, wine country, HOA amenities, meadows, and walks.

What makes this property unique

Our home has a quaint touch that is like no other property. The wrap around porch, music room, gazebo and garden are a little bit country hidden away from the "rest of the world."
We are new to this adventure and welcome your comments privately that will help us refine your experience.
We will rent this home out for less to a smaller group, or if you need space for more, our garage is set up with a TV, fridge, microwave, futon and mattresses for a small additional charge. We will also rent out our RV on the property which sleeps 6.
We want to accomodate you and are willing to negotiate where possible.
