About this property

Big Pine Cabin - Remote Access Retreat

This northern Minnesota remote cabin is located close to the BWCA in a road-less area not far from our Homestead on White Iron Lake. Summer access is by boat by water. I pick you up at a landing and go across lake approx. 2 miles to our dock.

We will help transport your gear and supplies to the remote cabin and back.

The Cabin is 22' x 16' with a wrap around deck area overlooking huge red and white pines. It is situated on a solid ledge rock formation. There are lots of windows which provide an abundance of natural light and great outdoor viewing. The inside of the cabin is all knotty pine. There is a woodstove for heating and propane stove and refrigerator for cooking. Propane gas lights. We also have a separate sauna building with attached bunkhouse for your bathing enjoyment. The cabin has no indoor plumbing or electricity, but is constructed for comfortable summer and winter time use. The cabin has cell phone capability.

We are pet friendly. $20.00 per dog per day. Max 2 dogs.

Beautiful secluded cabin
The cabins are well maintained in a beautiful location. All the basic tools you need are already in the kitchen and the host provided water for washing dishes etc. The lake was really quiet when we were there, perfect for canoeing.

Beautiful winter retreat
This is the second time I've stayed here, both times in the winter, and it's a perfect getaway. Long walks during the day along dogsled trails on a large yet minimally trafficked lake, followed by deeply relaxing saunas and reading by the fire in the evening. C'mon. The hosts are wonderful, as well, helpful and communicative. I'll undoubtedly visit again.

Fantastic Stay!
This was our second time staying at Big Pine Cabin. It's a magical forest. We had a beautiful evening canoe ride with swimming beavers. We are looking forward to our next visit.
