"Great Are The Simple Things In Life" No Doubt you will experience this in our Brand New Cabin. You'll find that "Rooks Nook" features many personal touches, from the high-end antique distressed cabinets and furniture. "Rooks Nook" is a spacious 1500 sq. ft. log cabin, where the exposed beams and rustic wavy board siding were cut from pine trees cleared from the lot. The wrap around porch is inviting, with two wooden log swings and rocking chairs, with a black distressed finish. Also features a hot tub deck.
Two Bedroom Master upstairs with King Bed, Bathroom upstairs with tile shower, and Heart Shaped Jacuzzi tub. Pool table on Balcony.
Bedroom down stairs has a queen Bed, Bathroom across the hall downstairs with 5' tub shower. Sleeper sofa in Living room.

Located just minutes from Desoto State Park, Desoto Falls, Cloudmont Ski & Golf Resort, and Mentone, where you can enjoy shopping in many of the antique shops, also offering a variety of foods.

Wonderful cabin! Complete with everything you need. Sitting on the porch early morning with your coffee can’t be beat. Pictures don’t tell how cozy and comfortable this cabin is. We look forward to our next stay at Rooks Nook.

Great location! This cabin is tucked away, but conveniently located within 3-5 miles of local establishments. The cabin is well built, clean and full of amenities. Check-in was a breeze. The owners were very polite and quick to respond to any questions. Highly recommend!

Very comfortable and homey, reasonably private and sheltered. Level 1 EV charging possible with just a 10ft cable. Host was very easy to reach. Kitchen is well stocked with cooking and eating equipment. Whole place was spotlessly clean. Highly recommended!

The location of the property was perfect and the gravel access road was easy to navigate and well maintained. The cabin had very nice decorations with a cozy floor plan. The best part was the quietness of the area allowing your mind to be at peace. Many deer, squirrels, and hummingbirds passed by every morning and evening. The surrounding properties were also well kept with beautiful boulder gardens.

Hello: We are Kevin & Cynthia Rooks. Kevin grew up in this area, Lived in Tennessee for 15 yrs then returned to this area. Cynthia was born in upstate New York, the family moved to West Alabama when she was 9 yrs old because her mother hated the cold. We meet in 1989 and were married in 1990. We,ve been self employed all those years, and have been able to work together,in the Custom Cabinet industry, we enjoy being able assist our customers in design and color selection of their custom cabinets.

Why they chose this property

We chose to build in Mentone, because for one, we LOVE the Mountains and always vacationed in the mountains, in East Tennessee or out West. Mentone is very beautiful all seasons and has so much to offer, for that that quite get-away, so I coined the phrase "GREAT ARE THE SIMPLE THINGS IN LIFE". And I really beleive that the simple things in life are the most enjoyable. I,ve always wanted to build my own cabin since I've been in the construction industry, this helped me to design and built the cabin, and with Cynthia's input on the color skeam it was a very enjoyable project, in which we put many personal touches for your enjoyment.

What makes this property unique

There are many things we enjoy about our cabin Rooks Nook most in the decor. Take notice of the Exposed Beams which were Sawn from Pine Trees cut off the lot itself, these were sawn by a local Saw Man which brought his Portable Saw mill onto the lot and sawed the Beams on site. The Log walls came from North Carolina (not a kit) Each room has a Beadboard plank wainscoat which has a painted distressed finish, the Balcony Railings are Black Rubbed Distressed finish, the Kitchen is a Pine Cabinet with a Green distressed finish, and Red Knobs. All the furniture pieces were custom designed & built by our shop. There is a Pool table on the Balcony, Tile shower & Heart Shaped Jacuzzi in the Master Bath. Hot Tub & Rockers & Swings on the wrap around porch, Just relax and enjoy your self. We hope you get as much enjoyment from your stay as we do. And remember "GREAT ARE THE SIMPLE THINGS IN LIFE"
