About this property

Old Town Basalt Guest House

This unique guest cottage (1,000 sq. ft.) is located in Old Town Basalt. Tucked in the back yard of our home, it offers a neighborhood experience within walking distance
(4 min) to historic downtown Basalt and just steps away from hiking trails to Basalt Mountain and the Gold Medal Waters of the Frying Pan River. With private access and designated parking, this property is a special find as it was built by us with attention to detail and design. Mostly used as a private guest house for family and friends, we decided to open it up to guests and list it on VRBO. We are enjoying sharing this special spot with our guests! It offers one private bedroom upstairs with a king bed. There is additional sleeping space with two twin beds at the top of the stairway open to the hallway. The Bathroom and washer and dryer are also located upstairs. Downstairs features a fully equipped kitchen and living room with french doors opening to a patio and an additional sitting area overlooking the shared backyard and garden.
Shopping, hiking, biking, mountain biking, fly fishing, skiing, and dinning are all nearby. There is so much to do here, and we are happy to give you suggestions and point you in the right direction.
Please note that the guest house has a maximum capacity of 4, please respect this rule as we do not make exceptions.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:

• Minimum age requirement of 25 to rent this property and photo ID is required upon check- in.

• Check-in time 4:00PM, Check-out time 11:00AM

• Pets not permitted

• Large gatherings or parties are not permitted

• Smoking, vaping or recreational drugs are not permitted on premises.

• Cancellation policy: 50% refund if cancelled between 30-60 days of arrival, NO refund if cancelled less than 30 days of arrival

• We recommend you purchase trip cancellation and interruption insurance to help protect you since NO REFUNDS if cancelled less than 30 days of arrival; inclusive of storms, road conditions or road closures.

• Damage deposit is refunded 14 days after departure; may take up to 7 business days to return to your account.

This was an absolutely wonderful stay! The communication from Janie prior to check in & during our stay was always quick and helpful. The guest house is outfitted with everything we needed, was very clean & we're a huge fan of the wood ceilings. The stainless steel pots, pans & measuring cups were great as we try to avoid non-stick. We will certainly be back!

This is an exceptionally wonderful property. Very comfortable and well appointed. A family property that occasionally finds its way to be available. If you are headed to the Roaring Fork Valley and can stay here, jump at the chance. You will not find anything close to this perfect.

Quaint well stocked guesthouse on a beautiful piece of property just blocks from town. Lots of extras from this host - fresh flowers from their garden and homemade cookies! Great hike recommendations as well. We had a separate entrance and so felt we had our privacy. We would definitely stay here again!

Comfortable and beautiful house in a residential neighborhood within walking distance of the town of Basalt. Lovely covered patio, well stocked kitchen and a great upstairs bedroom with a very comfortable king size bed. The owners were very friendly and available for questions. We will return!

Cottage in a small mountain town

We loved the charm and coziness of staying in this lovely cottage in Basalt, CO. The location allows you to feel like you are living like a local, and the cottage was stocked with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. It was an easy drive to go ski for the day, close to grocery stores, and an easy walk into the small town for shops and restaurants. We would love to come back to this area in the summer and would welcome another stay at this charming cottage!

Simplicity and comfort

We stayed in Janie's cottage for a week. Each day we awakened from a deep sleep in the fabulous king bed, descended to the well-appointed and immaculate kitchen and enjoyed our morning coffee and breakfast. For a place so cozy, it was remarkably roomy. It had every amenity a traveler could want. We especially appreciated Janie's home baked goodies! We highly recommend Janie's cottage!

Cool House in Great Location

House is very homey and has a great stylish vibe - exactly as shown in online photos. Lots of attention to detail in how the home is equipped and furnished too! Incredible Property

Our stay i. Scott and Janie’s guesthouse was nothing short of perfect. The house is beautifully decorated, thoughtfully appointed, not a detail overlooked. Waiting for us upon arrival were fresh cut flowers throughout the house and a bowl of plums picked from the backyard. Janie had even provided a selection of age appropriate books for our five-year-old daughter. Both the guesthouse and Basalt were the perfect home base for our Roaring Fork Valley vacation!

Perfect Cozy Cottage

The cottage was absolutely perfect and beautiful! We enjoyed the ease of check-in/out, communication with Janie and the delicious homemade treats as we arrived! The proximity to the ski slopes and ease of slope shuttle was a positive. The town of Basalt is cute and many local food/ brewery options with great food and customer service, too! The cozy cottage was perfect for our family! It was spotless with all kitchen tools needed for cooking, laundry, and comfortable beds! Janine and Scott were quickly responsive if we had questions. Amazing Retreat super close to all the Valley has to offer

The home is charming, neat as a pin and super private. We had our own parking and separate entrance to the property. All of the amenities were more than we could have asked for...from cozy clean and stylish sheets to various types of olive oil and pepper in the pantry, all of our needs were covered. Such an amazing value so close to skiing, hiking, and shopping in Snowmass, Aspen, Willits and Carbondale. We walked to coffee in the morning when we were not making it ourselves, and enjoyed strolling to/through town for dinner. Janie is the absolute best and was quick to respond to any and all of our questions. Wish I could live there!

Colorado Getaway

Our stay was exceptional! Janie and Scott were amazing host. Their home was absolutely lovely with great attention given to detail. Janie has truly thought of everything you could need for this beautiful property including a lint roller! For me, this stay was exceptionally clean! I travel with my own can of Lysol and lysol wipes. I am OCD when it comes to cleanliness! I had not a single worry! I can’t say enough wonderful things about our host! Thank you for making our stay exceptional!
