Cozy "River Retreat" situated directly on the Cuchara River. Cozy furniture, beds, bedding. Rustic decor. New and modern kitchen appliances. Nearby hiking trails, fishing, lakes, rivers. Quaint downtown area with seasonal events. The Cuchara Valley is a stunning representation of Colorado. Snow peaked mountains, colorful Aspen trees and abundant wildlife. While house is rented we will not be there. We are available by phone if anything needs attention. The downtown area features The Dog Bar, Cuchara Yacht Club, Timbers Steak and Spirits.    General store, miniature golf and rec center. 12 miles to historic town of La Veta. Surrounded by mountain trails!  The newly reopened Cuchara Mountain Park has farmers market, local bites and seasonal lift for cross country skiing and sledding.  

New fiber internet service!  Work remote with high speed internet.

Cozy Cabin by the Creek

The sights and sounds of the river is so relaxing. Since the bedrooms are upstairs, you feel like you are in a tree house! It was our second time to stay in Cuchara and we hope we can stay again since we got married in the Cuchara Chapel 44 years ago.

My son and father in law have stayed here two years in a row. It’s perfect for our needs. Great location outside of Cuchara and right on a beautiful, rushing stream. 15 minutes or so to North Lake or LaVeta.

Retreat by the river

We had a wonderful time. In the river by the house we saw fish in the evening. Deer passed through the open space beside the house one morning. The stars were amazing! Great place for a weekend getaway.

Peaceful Long Weekend

The property is at a beautiful location right on the creek. The house is cozy. We went up during the winter. The property is very close to Cuchara Mountain Park. We went there and did some cross/country skiing. Not much going on around the area in the winter, but a great place to get away for some peace and quiet.

We loved every minute of our stay here! Highly recommend. House had everything we needed and more. So cozy and relaxing. Everything was very comfortable from the bed, to the recliners,to the cozy blankets around to snuggle up in on chilly evenings. Also the river behind the house. We LOVED that. Spent a lot of time out there. There's chairs by the river to relax in also. The deck is wonderful to sit at to drink morning coffee. The pics posted on the website don't really do this place justice. It's better than the pics! Thankyou for a lovely stay Jen!

Short but sweet girls getaway

The directions to the property were easy to follow, just remember to download the directions before trying to look for it as cell service is spotty. The location was great, right next to a rushing stream. The furnishings were nice And not overworn . The size was perfect for our needs. Everything was very clean. The beds and pillows and towels were amazingly comfortable as well. The kitchen was well stocked: there was cooking oil, coffee, spices, ice cubes in the ice tray, a coffee, coffee maker and even a bean grinder. If I’m ever returning to the area and it’s Just a small group of us under four people, This is the place that I will request.
