Lovely property conveniently located in Kailua Kona town. Easy walk to everything. Only improvement would be a new mattress and new towels as they where getting end of life. Would book this complex again.
The condo is perfectly located. Off the main road, very
quiet other than the wonderful sound of the pounding
surf. Easy walking distance to many great restaurants.
The kitchen had all the necessary cooking utensils, as
well as many basic condiments for cooking. Enjoyed
sitting at the pool in the evening to watch the sunset,
and enjoying coffee on the lanai in the mornings.
We enjoyed our stay at this property. It was nice to be able to walk to so many restaurants and we also appreciated the snorkeling gear and beach chairs available. Although the view of the ocean is limited from the unit itself, the complex offers common areas that allow for a full view - perfect for viewing sunsets!
Upon arrival, we were impressed with the managements, welcoming the cleanliness and beauty of the grounds and then, when we got to our room number 209 we were even more impressed with the decor, cleanliness the view, and the inventory of utensils, and such needed for a pleasant day

Very relaxed place. Nice
Very relaxed place. Nice views from the lanai. Easy walk to lots of things to do. We are hoping to come back in a couple of years with the grand son and go snorkeling with him. Thank you for your help in making a great trip!
We loved our stay and the location of the condo. Loved being able to walk most places and explore the area. Didn’t mind the coin operated laundry but wished there was some place to access change on site. That was really the only aspect I would change.
The property was as expected and a good value for the price. The pans were newer, plenty of silverware, plastic storage containers, etc. The foldout bed was acceptable. I could not have slept on it, but my teenage son was happy with it. The King size bed in the bedroom was also acceptable.
If we were returning to Kona, I'd stay in the same unit without hesitation.

The unit was exactly as described.
We stayed in Unit 209 for five nights in February 2019. The unit was exactly as described. It was clean, comfortable, well equipped and within walking distance of downtown shopping and restaurants. We thought the value received was excellent for the rental fee paid. Wes Campbell
Just want to say I spoke to one of the owners and emailed property manager regarding our concerns with the unit. I hope they take it seriously and make a change before anyone else rents the unit. The Big Island is a beautiful island with beautiful people, beaches, and food.

November 2019 visit
We stayed a few days and were very pleased with the accommodations and with the service provided. The condo was nicely supplied and had some beach chairs and towels for guest use. Everything was comfortable, clean and in good condition. The management company was pleasant to deal with and very helpful. The ocean isn't accessible at the condo, because it's rocky, but there are plenty of beaches nearby. The view was very nice from a side balcony of the unit. We did not notice any noise from the parking lot as mentioned in other posts. We recommend this property and possibly will use it on future visits.
The one bedroom property we stayed in was everything we expected. It was clean, very functional, convenient walk to the bulk of Kona's restaurants, off the beaten path (Alii Drive), and relatively quiet (the ocean waves never sleep, but that is why we wanted this property). We were also able to use float tubes, ice chests, umbrella on ventures to the beaches.
The only negative was we did not have a full view of the ocean to watch the sunset from. However, we never felt too warm as no direct sun ever lit the lanai. We hope to reschedule again soon.
Not much communication on what to do with trash or where it should be disposed of! The bathroom was dirty and the parking was difficult to park and leave!

Paying for the view!
The property was adequate, but the view was amazing and close to Town. The condo definitely needs some updates and a deep cleaning. The beds were a little uncomfortable, fan or vent in the bathroom very dirty, the fire detector was ripped off the ceiling, mattress pad hadn’t been washed, drawers in the dresser not on rollers and easily could drop onto the floors, etc. Management friendly and resolved fire detector and mattress pad issue. I actually would stay at the property again, but a different unit.

Nice location and views
Since I had stayed at this same property twice before I was obviously satisfied or I wouldn't have come back. It must have been inadvertent because I did not realize I had selected a unit this time that faced the neighboring hotel rather than purely the ocean. While the water vistas were still superb it didn't seem as private since both my friend and I spend much of our time on the lanai. The unit is getting close to needing a bit of a facelift, but I think the important point is would that fact or any other make me look for another accommodation next time? And the answer is "No"-I always liked it there and still do.
I broke a vase as I was leaving, so I'm sure it will reflect in my rating... It was an accident. I turned to grab my rolling suitcase and the duffel I was carrying knocked over the vase...
But the peoperty is superb. Ther is an elevator, which is a huge bonus. The AC is finally up and going as of mid September 2023.
All units are close enough to the water to hear the ocean all night. The coqui frogs are stupid annoying though. Not the property's fault. They are invasive.
My unit had an amazinf view of the ocean, and was close enough I could feel the mist from large wave breaks.
The property managers are quick to respond and great communicators.
The unit looks better in person than in pictures. It was huge! And had lots of amenities.
Highly recommend!
We really enjoyed staying at Hale Kona Kai 209. The condo layout had a natural breeze so it was always cool and comfortable, so we didn’t need the A/C. The location was ideal... a short walk to downtown Kailua Kona and an easy drive to the island’s best attractions. Plus the waterfront location meant unobstructed sunsets from the pool or seawall, and an ocean view from the lanai. The condo had beach chairs and a cooler which we used all the time, and binoculars for whale watching. Laundry machines were down the hall by the stairs, quarters available from the on-site property manager. Love this place!
The location is unbeatable. Right on the ocean and an easy walk to town. The place was clean and check in was super simple.
