Master suite with King, 2nd BR with Queen looks out on side arbor. front & rear sunrooms with picture windows. Rear sunroom overlooks lighted/ landscaped patio (fountain & Al fresco dining) and becomes a bedroom by night (queen size foam sofa bed). 55" tvs in living room and rear sun room. Office has additional twin size bed available.
Please note: the small building beside the patio is for host storage and is not for habitation.

A hidden gem

This hidden gem is unassuming from the exterior yet MAGNIFICENT and GORGEOUS on the inside. EVERY detail has been attended to. From the softest, kuxurious bed kinins to the thick soft towels in the bathrooms....this hime away from home is 2 blocks from old town.

Christmas in Mt. Dora

The home was beautiful and clean. Located close to downtown Mt.Dora. We loved the holiday atmosphere our host provided with a big wreath, a Christmas tree, poinsettias and several other lovely holiday touches. The home is very roomy with beautiful eclectic decor. Plenty of room for 4-5 adult friends. We would love to return next Christmas season.

Wonderful house, great location

We had a great time at this house! The location is perfect -walk to downtown Mt Dora and the lake and an easy location to find, in general. The beds were VERY comfortable, with dream-like sheets. The kitchen is very well appointed with everything you could need to prepare a meal for any size group. The bathrooms were well appointed, too, including toiletries and plenty of towels. The layout of the house is great - - front and back sitting rooms, lovely outdoor areas, great parking. I recommend, and we hope to come back again!

The home has completely and professionally rewired. The switches are not defective but are complicated as also controls the overhead fans speeds. We live across the street and Would have been happy to show how to use the switches if we had Been so. advised.

Perhaps not immediate kerb appeal from the external photo, but don’t let that fool you. It was a fabulous and quirky house, with a sun lounge at both front and rear with light all day. Amazing master bedroom too. Lovely garden to sit in, extremely comfortable lounge, and the kitchen was large and fully equipped with anything you might want. Location perfect for a short walk into the town. Can only recommend it highly.

Weekend getaway

I cannot say enough about the house! It is absolutely gorgeous, yet it felt like a home. I spent time in every single room, but especially loved the front room. So bright and peaceful. Also, the location was perfect. We walked to the main area of Mt. Dora and even the heat, it wasn't bad at all. The owner was always accessible and very understanding and accommodating. If I could give our stay more stars, I would! ✨✨✨✨

Decorator's Delight!

Paula is an amazing host and her communication is outstanding. We have stayed at many VRBOs and the decor/design are just amazing. From the Tiffany lamps to the various window treatments to the floor inlays to crown molding and ceiling design to wall paintings to the vintage furniture to multiple fireplaces, this "Whimsical Retreat" was stunning. Everywhere you looked there was something else that would get your attention. The backyard seating area is peaceful and quiet. The kitchen is well stocked, beds are comfy, and it's exceptionally clean. The property is ideally located to walking to the downtown area with plenty of shops and restaurants and the beautiful Lake Dora, and the neighborhood is very quiet. Will definitely stay here again!!!

A Hidden Gem!

We just loved staying at this Mount Dora historic cottage. It was perfect in every way, a real hidden gem! The cottage is quite deceiving from the outside...it is much bigger than you would think and goes on and on, with lots of sitting rooms, three in total, and even a small office. The bedrooms each have their own bath and are quite private from each other. Our group of two couples found it provided lots of space and privacy. There is even a beautiful sitting area outside with decorative lighting. The location was perfect, a quick walk into town, just a couple of blocks, but in a quiet historic neighborhood. We loved every minute here, the decor is lovely and the beds are very comfortable. Thank you, Paula and John, any questions we had were quickly answered...you have thought of everything. We can't wait to return!

Amazing Property - Home Away from Home!!!

This home is located near downtown, remarkably close just a few short blocks. Like pickleball, bring your racket because there are courts within 2 blocks on the same street. Fantastic location. The home has amazing decor, its tops! The house is very spacious but from the exterior it does not give that impression. It's exceptionally clean and neat. This is a property you MUST visit because it's like home, warm and comfortable. The front sitting room/porch provides a relaxing view of the neighborhood. My sister utilized this area every morning to mediate. I can't wait to rebook. My husband is disable, and the stairs did pose a problem getting him in the front, up the steps; we were aware of the (4) steps when I booked. He still wants to return. After getting him inside, the halls were wide enough to accommodate his wheelchair. It would only be better if they added a seat in the master bedroom shower and a ramp for mobility access into the home. I repeat we knew about the steps; they didn't pose a major problem. Plan time to enjoy an evening out back, relaxing in the courtyard. That area is large enough for a nice gathering. The pictures online provide an okay impression of the home but didn't do the home justice. The interior atmosphere of this property cannot be captured by those photos. I can't imagine a cleaner, comfortable, and affordable place to stay in Mount Dora, so we will return.

Cute house, cute town

We very much enjoyed the house and our stay in Mount Dora. The house was wonderful - ready, clean, and functional. I would stay there again on a future trip. The location is awesome if you are interested in the town. Shopping and dining are very walkable - about 2 blocks. The area is quiet and we felt very safe. There is a small play ground next door which is great if you have kids - I do but they weren't with me. We were there in early December and the town was equisitly decorated for the holidays. Christmas lights. Super cute! As a whole the house was a much better decision than a hotel. Lots of space, close to town, and very comfortable. I want to specifically call out there linens and towels - extra comfy.
