This is a gorgeous property, well maintained, clean, historic and a haven from a day of tourist activities. The owners are friendly, honest, and want their guests to be as comfortable and pleased as possible. The beds and linens were beautiful and comfortable. Plenty of towels and kitchen utensils. The osteria across the street is so convenient. After a long day of sight-seeing, it was relaxing to walk over, plunk down and enjoy a cold beer, or local wine and delicious food. They served everything from a meal-sized refreshing salad to pasta ragu to grilled meats. It is all delicious and fairly priced. We were a family of five consisting of two married couples and a single adult. We all used the shower in the laundry room because it it the most "American" in design. We Americans just don't know how to shower with a hand-held device without spraying water everywhere. It was not inconvenient for us because we showered and then put make-up on, blow dried hair, shaved, etc back in our individual bathrooms. To expect an entirely American-style stay in an ancient Italian villa is unreasonable and we were delighted with our overall experience. We have only one rueful comment. It is hot in Italy in July and although there were fans everywhere in the villa, some air-conditioning in all the bedrooms at least seems necessary. Only the 3rd floor bedroom had air conditioning but with hotter summers everywhere, this becomes a requirement for any vacation rental.
