Christa and Brad were great hosts. It was easy to check in, cozy and just what we needed for a long weekend. Huge plus that the place is so close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. I’d highly recommend!
We were extremely impressed with the cleanliness of the property. Everything was in awesome condition. The property was everything advertised and more. Brad and Christa provided wonderful "extras" here and there as well, in the form of fresh baked bread and chocolates in each room. This is one of the best places we have stayed anywhere!
We’ve stayed at many homes through VRBO over the years, but this is the only one we return to over and over again. It’s like coming home. You won’t find a cleaner or more welcoming home.
This is our third stay Grace Place. We return because it’s perfect for us. The location takes you slightly out of the busyness of Boone to a very relaxing atmosphere - did I mention they have donkeys?! But, you can be back in town or to ASU in 10 minutes.
The house always has these special touches that you never find in other VRBO homes and the hosts are easy to contact and quick to reply to any questions.
We had the perfect stay at The Grace Place! The only thing to make the stay better would be our longer stay. The location was a quick drive to Boone and North Wilkesboro and easy to find off Highway 421. The house was very clean with plenty of room. Bedding was comfortable and had the softest sheets! The remote controlled logs were one of our favorite amenities in addition to the personal goodies received from hosts Christa and Brad when we arrived! If you’re looking for a nice, large, clean, quiet getaway, no doubt this is a great place to stay! We’re looking forward to a return trip hopefully sooner than later!
A personalized sign welcomes you when you first open the door to Grace Place along with some delicious freshly made sourdough bread, butter and honey - is there anything better to comfort weary travelers? My husband and I stayed at Grace Place for 6 weeks and it became our home as we waited to close on our new home in Boone. We can’t say enough good things about this wonderful home stocked with ample kitchenware and tables to host a large gathering. For a delicious breakfast try the fresh eggs and homemade sausage sold at the host’s farm store just down the road. Would be a wonderful place for a quilting retreat with ample space to sew as I did almost daily during our stay. Highly recommended!
Prior to our trip we had communication with the host and she was so sweet. Very accommodating and even let us check in early. Once we arrived we were met with fresh homemade bread (with butter & honey)and homemade cookies. It was off to a great start. The home was immaculate. Very clean and felt like home. We brought our bikes with us and since there wasn't a lot of traffic we were able to ride and explore the area. It was so beautiful. The home had so many games and puzzles for the kiddos and a card table for the adults. They really thought of everything. I would HIGHLY recommend this property to anyone going to the area and we will definitely be staying again.
My family consists of my husband, myself, our three college aged children and their assorted friends. We always use VRBO because our group ranges from 5-10 people every trip. This trip was to move my son into App State and consisted of five kiddos and me and my husband.
This house is on a highway and does not back up to that picture perfect creek we all imagine. That is the only downfall. It was immaculate in cleanliness and the most well appointed house in which we have ever stayed. We cooked breakfast and dinner and had every utensil, pot and pan neccessary. The beds are very comfortable with soft sheets and good pillows. The living areas are spacious, we even had room for a game of Twister.
There is only one bathroom, but they have an endless hot water heater, so we just staggered how we woke up the kiddos and there was no issue.
The extras that are included were so incredibly thoughtful. The owners left the most amazing loaf of homemade sourdough bread that we gobbled up. They also left other omemade treats, a keepsake, local coffee, and so many other little touches that make all of the difference.
We ended up leaving later than the posted time because I was running around trying to leave the home as immaculate as we found it, which is a task with 5 college kiddos. But I will definitely want to stay here again. Thank you for a dorm wonderful move in / vacation!!

We loved hosting this wonderful kind and considerate family and just wanted to clarify this house is actually 1 mile off of the highway not right off the highway and there is no creek but a beautiful pond with many types of fish, tadpoles, and pond life. It also has a nice wooded area in the back of the house.
We stayed at Grace Place for a long weekend after getting married in November. This was my third time visiting and it felt like coming home. The house is immaculate and so welcoming. We spent some of our time just relaxing and watching TV, we spent some time in Boone, and some time on the Blueridge Parkway. The proximity to the Parkway is amazing and so easy!
We will be back to this wonderful vacation spot!
I returned to this home because our previous stay was great! New blinds & door lock was a bonus. Same wonderful hospitality & treats from Krista & Brad added to my family’s comfort & first time at this Graceful spacious home. Seeing deer in the the yard made this low mountain location a place we will be returning to in the future.
We stayed here for fall break. It’s the cleanest and most welcoming VRBO we’ve stayed in. They include small details that make a big difference. extra trash bags, detergent. The location is amazing, quiet and private but right off a highway so no long twisty roads to get into town. A grocery store 5 mins away instead of 15-20. Very responsive and warm hosts. And they welcomed us in with fresh bread and homemade cookies. We will be back!
My husband and I and our children stayed at Christa and Brad’s place for a mountain getaway. The property was just as described and was very convenient to access the activities we had planned- Tweetsie railroad, an easy hike to a waterfall, and the original Mast general store were all in easy driving distance. The hosts have gone the extra mile with extra special touches like baked goods and mints on the bed, which my kids were especially thrilled about. They also loved feeding the fish in the pond and playing out in the yard. We did need to keep a close eye on our youngest 2 (ages 2 and 5) while playing outside, as cars do tend to drive very fast down the road in front of the house, but there was plenty of space to play further back. Our hosts were easy to get a hold of and helpful with anything we needed. Would definitely book again, thanks Brad and Christa for the hospitality!
This home is centrally located between Boone and West Jefferson right off of 221. Good location if you're going to multiple locations for your visit. The hosts were super nice and left special treats such as home-made bread & cookies, honey. I never had to contact them as everything worked as advertised. The kitchen literally was completely full stocked with everything you could need for any type of cooking. Home was very clean and the bedrooms were modern, not cluttered and beds very comfy! Really a great home in a central location.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Grace house in Deep Gap from the 18th to the 22nd of June . Brad and Christa are great hosts. They go above and beyond what other hosts do. Not only was the home really clean, but they had lots of goodies waiting for us, fresh baked bread, cookies, popcorn, honey from their farm, coffee and creamers, food spices plus many other things. I only wish there was an extra bathroom, but we knew there was only one going in and we made it work. Would definitely recommend Grace House for your next vacation and we would happily stay there again ourselves.

Brad and Christa are the best hosts! This home is beautiful and a perfect location for getting away from it all and still being close to almost anything you would want to do or need. I have stayed here twice and will definitely be back. Wonderful!!!
We stayed at Grace Place for our annual trip to Appalachian Ski Mountain. The house was extremely clean and comfortable- and I am very particular about cleanliness. The homeowners were pleasant. We were pleasantly surprised at the fresh flowers in every room, snacks for the kiddos, fresh treats from their farm!!! My boys say staying at The Grace Place is a requirement now! Thank you guys for everything!
I mostly corresponded with Christa who was absolutely kind, accommodating and went the extra mile for my family! This home was perfect, very comfy and cozy!! Super clean, would absolutely stay again in the future!
My husband and I enjoyed our long weekend at Grace Place. Very clean and comfortable. Brad and Christa had lots of goodies waiting on us. Would definitely stay here again.
A few bugs but the owners of the property were really nice and the area was perfect for everything we wanted to do.

*Just for clarification, these were outdoor bugs not bugs inside the house. As you’d expect sand at the sea, a few bugs would be expected in the mountains. We loved having These visitors come and hope they can return sometime.
The house is awesome and the property owners really are 5 star! The attention to detail, cleanliness, and service is above and beyond. We had fresh baked bread, cookies, and a variety of snacks waiting on us. The owners knew we were coming in late so they came to the house and left a light on for us! The beds are extremely comfortable and the kitchen has every cooking dish you could need. The house was so comfortable and we will stay here anytime we come to Boone. I have worked for a 20 star resort so I really do get impressed when places that don’t have to go above and beyond do!

About the host
Hosted by Brad and Christa Kelley
We are Brad and Christa Kelley and live just four houses down from this house on a small farm. We have three children - two girls and a boy ages 14, 12, and 6. On our small farm we have chickens, ducks, one goose, a dog, a cat, ponds, fish, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, apple trees, Asian and Bartlett pear trees. We love the area and have lived here for many, many years (over 25). The slower pace, cool summer breezes, and beauty of living in the mountains are just like nowhere else, we hope you enjoy it here as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
We love this property because it's so close to our own home and offers great location and convenience to so many other towns and locations. Behind the house are some beautiful (and steep) wooded areas. It has such easy and quick access from Hwy. 421 which is a huge benefit in the winter months. We love, love, love the pond and just being able to sit and watch the wildlife there. Our kids love to hang out at the pond and watch and catch the tadpoles, fish, and frogs.
