My husband, 1 year, dogs and I all enjoyed our stay on Peaks at this beautiful home. It is a convenient location- not too far from town and coastline. Beautiful kitchen views.

Valhalla by the Sea
Spacious home with all the necessities - had a great 10 day stay and enjoyed waking up to the sounds of the ocean!
Comfortable house with a nice view. Plenty of indoor space to hang out. If we were there longer and not attending a wedding having more outdoor space would have been nice. If you have a car larger than a Tahoe you might have trouble parking. Overall the house worked well for our family and was a bonus being able to bring our 2 dogs.
This was a nice house located near enough to the town to walk. It was a typical beach house with a well stocked kitchen. It had a great view from the front porch of the ocean and was in a beautiful neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay and would go back.
Lovely spot to host a group of friends who hadn’t seen each other in years. 7 adults is a bit of a tight squeeze but doable! Location couldn’t be beat.
Nicely appointed beach cottage. Bring small car as only parking for small car and a golf cart. Nice water views 5 mins to shore 10 minutes to the tiny village and ferry.
This ocean view vacation home is an older building which has been lovingly outfitted for guests. If you are looking for slick and glitzy look elsewhere. But if you are looking for a classic, quaint seaside getaway just a few minutes walk to the open ocean, with many nice decorative touches and modern kitchen appliances, you will be very happy here.

There were next to no lights, towels were all wet when we went to use them, and the TV didn’t work. I know it’s an island house but the overall condition of the house wasn’t great for the price that was charged.
We came to Peaks Island to celebrate a birthday and enjoy the serenity of the island and explore the city. We got the best of both worlds. Patty from Peaks Island taxi was splendid and informative and ensured we got to and fro when needed. The house had all comforts needed, the wood stove kept us cozy, and an over all great time. Thank you!
The rental was good, the house can handle six, but can only park one vehicle. Very nice overall. Be patient with the ferry schedule, and get in line early.
We came to Maine to see the fall foliage. Never having been we tried something new and started on Peak’s Island. Love the island. House is a nice cottage with all the right amenities for a stay. Sea glass was everywhere. The Islander’s whom live there full time are not the nicest people, but it doesn’t ruin your trip. A nice drive to Merrifield Farm for some Maple Syrup and Rangeley Lake for Fall foliage is perfect to add to the trip.
We loved the Valhalla cottage on Peaks. It is about a 15 minute walk to the ferry, 10 minute walk to Sandy Beach. The house was clean, neat, and well stocked with pantry items and any bath items that you may forget. The 4 bikes in basement were a big plus, as we were thinking of bringing our own until we saw that in the welcome email! The house is big enough for a medium sized group, but cozy too! The owner/manager were very responsive to any questions.
We recommend the house for sure and will likely be back!

What a pleasure hosting Erica and her family. They left the house in great shape, very respectful, couldn't ask for a better guest.
After staying at “Valhalla by the Sea” for three nights, our recommendation to prospective visitors can only be to look elsewhere, particularly for how expensive this place is. At this price point, you can stay at a nice hotel or a much nicer VRBO. Of course, what’s “worth it” is a matter of personal preference. You might find “Valhalla” perfectly delightful if you enjoy beds that make you feel like you’re sleeping on a felled tree, or finding on the side of the kitchen sink a hefty trail of grime that if given only an extra week would begin talking to you. What made this a poor VRBO experience was feeling like we had gotten royally swindled by what we received for the cost, which in retrospect was outrageous. Also, the host never replied to our messages we sent while at the property. We will not return to "Valhalla".
The quaint beach house was the ideal location for enjoying the island for a few days and make some family memories! My favorite spot was sitting in the chair in the dining room, because the breeze was so nice, and I had a view of the ocean and lighthouse. It was nice to have two bathrooms for the group we had with us. The property had bikes for us to use, beach towels, and kitchen necessities. It was nice to have the living room and the smaller library area so we could both hang out as a big group, and have another place besides bedrooms to split off. The beds were not very comfortable, which was the only complaint we had while staying. Overall, it was a lovely stay, and the property manager was very quick to respond the whole time we were there, and leading up to our trip as well.
P.S. For any families with babies/toddlers, bring a sound machine! The floors are very creaky, since it's an older house, but putting the air conditioner in the room my toddler napped in really helped him fall asleep, since it was pretty loud and drowned a lot of the noise out!
