Summer Place is an exciting newly renovated beach house that brings the old and new together with 9'6" high bead board ceiling, newly stain hardwood floors with some old driftwood flooring, stain glass, key west style window shutters, river rock stone gas fireplace, beautifully appointed and tastefully decorated, quality beds and linens, central air, deck with gas fire pit and wood burning fire pit for those roasting marsh mellow nights, T.V. in bedrooms, covered parking, Water/ marsh views from several different rooms, all situated in a great location only two short blocks to a 7 mile long sandy beach, close by you can walk to several restaurant and a lobster pound. PICKLEBALL COURTS NEAR BY, ask me for a net.... .Dog friendly with a fee...Easy access into Portland ( 12 miles) or catch a trolley to Old Orchard Beach and the pier (2 miles)....... The home was very inviting and in a great spot. The only complaint I have is that it is listed as having 4 parking spots. It is very hard to fit 4 cars in the provided spots. Even with average size vehicles we spent the week shuffling cars to be able to get out.

Very happy with this property. Didn’t expect the extra stairs leading to two of the bedrooms and bathroom. We had elderly so for some of them it was a few more steps than expected but we worked with it.However we weren’t very happy with the outside of the property. We knew we were in the back of the marsh view but we really had no view from most of the house. Outside seating area was very small , messy and no view. However our neighbors were wonderful !The property was very close to the beach and well equipped with everything we needed.Screen doors and windows would have been nice also to let the beach air in but AC was wonderful also. All and all this was a very pleasant stay for all 10 of us from 8 to 83 years of age.Our host Drew was very quick to get back to us with any questions we had.

We thought we were renting a waterfront property only to find out that there is a unit A, in the front on the street and B (behind unit A) on the marsh grass. There was a small deck off one of the bedrooms (facing the neighbors), but the cushions for the furniture were so dirty and just thrown around that we couldn’t even sit out there. The place really needs a thorough deep cleaning. If the people that clean this place were my housekeepers, I would fire them. Every dish in the kitchen had to be washed before we used them. The pots and pans were greasy inside and out. One of the beds when you pull down the sheets looked like it had been slept in and not changed. We had to pull hair and gunk out of the washing machine… Yuck! One of the showers has black mold growing up from behind the wall just above the fiberglass. Just an FYI, the bedroom with the bunkbeds and one other bedroom have to share a bathroom because the fourth bathroom is on the first floor while all the bedrooms are on the second floor. The door with the number code where you enter, looks like it has been broken in many times not making you feel very secure. I kind of feel like they should’ve been paying us the cleaning fee instead of the other way around. We did enjoy ourselves and for the most part it fit our needs. It just needs to be kept cleaner and in better repair.

Hi i m sorry that the house wasn t as clean as it should have been. I ask all renters to put the dishes in the dishwasher and start it before they leave.. I will now have my cleaners check the pots and pans even if they are put away. At the end of a busy summer cushion get dirty and i just removed and threw them out last saturday. I m sorry we didn t catch them early. I like it that renters tell me about things while they are there so we can correct them so the next renters like you can enjoy the house better.. i know that the front door keypad doesn t look safe but there is also a deadbolt on the door. The area is very safe , we have never had anything stolen inside or outside the house... The pictures are accurate, it,'s facing the marsh not waterfront ..

We loved this property! Excellent location just blocks from the beach with pretty views of the marsh. Fully stocked kitchen made family meals easy to prepare plus several indoor and outdoor gathering spaces make this a great family rental. We’ll definitely return!

Excellent location. Easy drive to and from Portland and other areas of Maine. Walkable neighborhood with plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and stores. Easy walk to the beach (couple blocks away) where you can stroll up and down for several miles. Very comfortable beds and plenty of space for our group of 8 adults to relax indoors or outdoors. Would definitely stay here again if/when I return to the area!

Wonderful Home!

This was a very quaint, clean, comfortable, and “Maine-feeling” home!! The decor was darling and plenty of space for all of us six adults! Beds were also very comfortable, and we loved watching people go out to the marsh to search for clams! Excellent home in Scarborough!
