It was a very homey cabin. We felt very comfortable. Getting there was rough. Not sure you can call that a road. Our car bottomed out every time we left and came back. Could not drink the water. Great water pressure in shower. The couches need upgrading. Chairs on back deck would be nice.
Great place, close to Boone, but feels miles away!
Very cool property, peaceful setting! Loved the streams on both sides and the deer grazing in the yard. Internet was great! No issues working from there the 2 days I had to work during my 4 day stay. Listed as budget friendly, so I didn't expect everything to be high-end. Dated furniture, linens, towels but not bad. I don't think it had been rented for a bit prior to our stay, so I'm guessing that was probably why so many cobwebs and dead bugs... It is in the middle of the woods so I would expect it to some degree. I spent first 30 mins clearing cobwebs and squashing bugs, then vacuuming. After that, all was good! The drive is disclosed properly in the description, so be sure you are ok with a single lane gravel road and driving through a very shallow stream. Jeep Cherokee did fine, no issues. Would stay there again, just wish it was dog friendly so I could bring my pooches next trip!
Very secluded need a suv or 4 wheel drive to go there but a nice place to stay
Nice but needs new outdoor cushions on furniture and new couch andlove seat in living room but everything else was nice

Quiet and Calm
Cabin was cozy. Location was beautiful ( road wash out could be treacherous even with 4WD) but the smell of the well water (sulfur) could be a show-stopper
Cabin was comfortable and had all the essentials. I drive a truck and was able. to cross the stream-bed no problem, but I would not have been able to cross it in ANY car. The well water has a sulfur smell that was not a problem for me, but none of the children would take a shower due to the smell.
Childhood friends and I chose this location as a central point to hike at Greyson Highlands in Virginia and Carvers Gap in N.C.. This was the perfect location. Just over 1 hour to both locations. The cabin was very clean. The interior was rustic in a nice way. Love the wood work. The drive down to the cabin was interesting and you definitely need a high clearance vehicle to clear the rise after crossing the stream.
Only negatives were the first floor creaks everywhere when you walk across it. There was no way someone could sleep if anyone was walking on the first floor. Bring your own drinking water. The water has a sulfer smell and you will notice it when showering. While both were a nuisance it did not detract from our stay. We would stay here again.
My husband and I enjoyed everything about our stay. The location gives the true mountain experience feeling like you are secluded yet only minutes from downtown Boone. We had ZERO complications with communication with the property manager, booking process, information on how to enter, directions, etc. It was one of the easiest bookings I have experienced. The streams along side the cabin were very relaxing to listen to, especially at night. One thing we found a benefit was having two outside/lawn chairs in our truck because the cabin has a large deck right outside the master bedroom where we spent time just enjoying the view and sounds of nature. We drove our truck, which is a Nissan Titan and had no issues crossing the stream to get to the cabin. We will definitely be going back!
This cabin is the perfect location to explore boone/blowing rock. I love that the cabin itself feels so secluded yet you're only about 5 min. From downtown Boone. The inside was clean, property was nice. We did enjoy the firepit, however the grill was out of propane so we didn't get to use that.
Everything was great aside from our water issue, it had a really terrible sulfur smell. I did notice this in another review but didn't think much of it. I honestly don't understand how it didn't make it's way into more reviews because it's super inconvenient. We notified the manager (who said they'd never been made aware of this issue which I find a bit hard to believe being it was mentioned multiple times in the guest book at the cabin, plus the 1 online review) and she told us to let the water run for 15 min. To empty out hot water tank. This does work, but has to be done pretty much every morning/night as the sulfur smell returns. And it is STRONG, definitely not something you would want to shower in or cook with. I just wish we would have been made aware of this before our stay.
Other than the water issue, we really did have a great time.
This was our 2nd visit to this property in the past 6 months and it was wonderful! We were a little worried about the stream just before the driveway given the amount of rain the day before we arrived, but all of our vehicles were able to navigate it with no trouble. We had unexpected snow the first day and got good use out of the fireplace! Everything was in great condition and just as we expected and the property manager responded quickly when we reached out. I am certain we will stay here again!
Lovely house and location!! It was very quant and cozy perfect for our weekend get away!
We throughly enjoyed our stay and even got to see some snow! The house was very spacious! The trails behind and around the house lead to the cute little waterfalls, the kids favorite part!! I definitely would love to go again in the summer!
We had an awesome time with our two daughters from out of town. We were glad we were warned to bring a 4 wheel drive as the road was a little rough. We enjoyed sitting in front of the fire at night and hanging out. We want out and explores during the day. Only complaint would be that the water had a really bad door and the water in the upstairs bathroom would not get hot. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay at the End of the Rainbow cabin.
The cabin was nice. Great location outside of Boone but you felt like you were far from anything. 2 streams with waterfalls provided very soothing sounds. The outdoor cushions need to be updated. Very clean! Unfortunately, the floors creak very badly in several areas in the cabin but they look brand new. However, with just 2 people and no kids running around it was bearable. Overall very satisfied!
Great 4 day weekend with moms and daughters! This property was fabulous! Driving through the stream made us a little nervous at first, but was no problem, even for the car without 4wd. The location is great and the sound of the nearby waterfalls made for wonderful coffee time on the porch in the morning. Would definitely stay here again!
After driving a gravel road and crossing a stream(!), we arrived at End of the Rainbow cabin and found it was even better than the photos. Cozy cabin with a very nice kitchen, though the squeaky floor in front of the sink and counter were a little scary at first. Otherwise beds were comfy, bathrooms clean and the "hide-a-way" aspect was perfect. Would book it again!
We the privacy of the location. The cabin was clean and adequately comfortable. It felt like we were at least 50 miles from civilization, but in fact we were 5 minutes from downtown Boone. Marvelous base camp for exploring the area surrounding Boone. An extremely romantic getaway.
