Overall a great little place to stay. Small for just two. We walked the property and saw many exotic animals and horses. The hot tub was also lovely. My only suggestion would be wi-fi, as cell service is very limited to the area the home is located.
My husband and I had the best, most relaxing time at this wonderful little cabin. Sweet place to be together to celebrate 20 years!! Everything we needed for our stay was provided….complete kitchen, towels, bedding, HOT TUB!! The peaceful property, comfy bed, and private hot tub were definitely the perks of staying here. Thank you for your quick response to all our questions, Jennifer!! We look forward to visiting again!!!
Husband and I arrived Friday evening to a very clean cute railcar/cabin! We loved watching the deer graze while we enjoyed the hot tub! The rental was tucked away, so it felt very private. There was a gas grill and small charcoal grill to enjoy. The owners thought of everything you could possible need and added it to the property. We will definitely be back!
My sister and I booked the cabin for a quick weekend get-away, and Salt Creek Ranch did not disappoint! We were greeted by an beautiful thunderstorm the night we arrived. The view, no matter the weather, is gorgeous! Peaceful, secluded, and quiet, this property is a unique stay off the beaten path. The hot tub, elegant outdoor lighting, and variety of seating areas outside adds to the charm of the property. We also made our way into Brownwood and visited the Brown County Museum of History and the Old Jail (a must-see!), enjoyed the craft market, and shopped in the wonderful storefronts downtown and a few antique shops as well. Whether you are looking to unplug or venture into town, this is the place for you!
Check-in and check-out was quick and easy, and Jennifer was instantaneous in her communication.
We definitely wished we'd booked an extra day!
Thank you for your hospitality,
Jeannie and Celeste

Jeannie and her sister were great guests and are welcomed back anytime! Downtown Brownwood has grown and is still growing bringing many new and exciting things for our guests to enjoy.
Perfect for 2. Amazing slice of heaven in the woods. The sights, sounds and peace enveloped us! We were able to recharge from the every day hustle & bustle. Great host & experience! Will be back.
We absolutely loved our stay at the cabin! Such a beautiful property and so very peaceful to sit outside and watch the wildlife while you listen to the birds. Great shopping and restaurants nearby while still being out in the peace and quiet of the Texas Hill Country. So cute that the cabin is a converted old train car with the original floors too. We very much enjoyed all of the different seating areas outside to read a book and connect with nature as well as all the different grill options to use. My husband especially loved the fire pit with the grill plate! We got to enjoy a fire together and cook our whole steak dinner at the same time. Perfect place for a romantic getaway and the hot tub is just the icing on the cake!
We went spur of the moment and we were not disappointed. It is quiet, clean and beautiful scenery. There are many spots to just sit and relax, talk and just watch all the animals. Jennifer was very helpful and accommodating and while I don’t think it is conveyed in the listing, the cabin appears to be a train car, very cool. The lighting outside at night is great and sitting in the hot tub and grilling out is a must. If you’re in the fence about booking this, do it if you want a quiet romantic time.
The property was exactly as described. The property allowed for an amazing weekend the cabin was just the right size for a couple looking to get away and relax. There was plenty of seating area around the property facing the creek area including a very nice hot tub! We saw lots of deer and other animals. It was exceptionally clean. It is in the country yet just a very short drive to the lake or to lots of great restaurants in Brownwood. I would highly recommend!!!!
The cabin is cute and perfect for a couple. The view is amazing and quiet to where you can listen to nature. Looking for a place to get away and just relax, this is the place to go!

Cute cabin but very rustic
I felt like the property was represented well in the description. The owner had everything we would need to be comfortable while we were there. Two problems. We were there two nights. The hot tub was never above 96 degrees the first night so it was a little cold and the shower water really never got hot enough to take a shower for longer than a couple of minutes. So one of us got a shower each day. I didn’t feel it was worth the money we paid.

Hello Shannon,
I apologize for the hot tub and hot water heater issues you found. It is the first we have heard and will investigate and make all corrections needed. Thank you, Jenn
My husband and I were able to visit this lovely property for our 10 year wedding anniversary. It was wonderful. The wildlife took our breath away and the hot tub was very relaxing. The hosts were so welcoming and helpful and very responsive. By far one of our favorite trips.
The property was absolutely perfect! The cabin was cute and just the right size for the two of us. The area outside the cabin is beautiful, quiet, and amazing! The hot tub, grill, gazebo, multiple sitting/relaxing areas... it was an amazing experience. It was very peaceful and quiet. We had no issues with insects and had the pleasure of seeing several deer. This place is a must for any couple that wants to get away from it all and fully relax.
The property manager was polite and responsive to communication. No AC in the bedroom but unit was small and cozy so bedroom didn’t get too hot in Texas August heat! Quiet and secluded. Close to town but not too close. Nice for a quick weekend getaway.
